{ Summer Dining Room & New Farmhouse Table Peek.. }

Hey guys. Okay so today I was supposed to be sharing our summer dining room & our new little mini farmhouse table { before }.. & I still fully intend to do that, but & forgive me if this post is a bit jumbled. See it's 4:35am here in Michigan & I'm just now sitting down to finish this post since our lovely internet was down...Thank you +Bright House Networks  UGH! Anyways it's back up & running and with a little Alessia Cara - "Wild Things " I'm going to try & finish this post haha! So I've been mentioning via social media that in the summer I crave smaller, simpler & airy spaces..Well today I'm sharing our new tiny little 4 person farmhouse table instead of our 8-12 person square one in the dining room! See we go through dining room tables like crazy in our house, actually all furniture for that matter & I'm okay with that haha. Thank goodness most are thrifty & of course all are cottagey or farmhousey! Our last two tables I sold at the shop & our last lasttt table from +IKEA USA  is now down in the laundry room as our new folding table since it matched nicer in there! I wanted to keep with the farmhouse style so I brought up the cutest little round { I love round tables } from downstairs & decided to use it in our dining room for summer! It's super quaint, needs TLC & definitely has that farmhouse style working for it! Today I'm sharing the "before", because I may or may not have been painting it today.. I can't wait to blog the after, but for now we're going to enjoy the openness it gives in our dining room for summer.

This "Kitchen 101" sign was a $15 DIY. You can search the top of the blog for the tutorial if you're interested in this -Tea Towel Art -!

Greenery is from +IKEA USA . Wall art from +Hobby Lobby . Wreath from +Kohl's  & mason jars from +Marshalls .The rug is from +Target

I wanted everything to be fresh & green!!! As much greenery, flowers & wood I could bring into the space I did! It just screams summer to me & it's super airy & light looking which is what summer is allll about right?!

Since the table itself is so plain, I decided a cute super rustic/ vintage centerpiece would be cute! I used some free vintage glass milk bottles, hydrangeas+lavender with a rustic pitcher set on a vintage silver cake-stand! So pretty!!!

Something simple on the chalkboard & of course my favorite feature..Our 1940's FREE barn door! You can search the top of the blog under " Barn Door Divider" to see the tutorial/post on this door!

Although I do love this little farmhouse table as is now, it does need some TLC in some spots. I think a rustic creamy white with some dark wax?! Leave me some suggestions in the comment section below! :)

I'll' be blogging the update on this little table in the next week or so! What do you guys think of this much smaller farmhouse style table in our summer dining room? I hope you guys liked this light & superrr bright { sometimes too bright } dining space!! I'm off to bed now finally..ha!

Happy Wednesday Y'all!!

{ Light Summery Bedroom Refresh! }

Hey guys welcome back to TQS! I'm sorry about Monday's lack of post..but today I'm back with some simple & summery bedroom inspiration that literally had me wanting to climb through the screen & cozy in haha! When summer hits around here I kind of go crazy with trying to make everything simple, soft & airy  if that makes any sense..? Our summers in Michigan are hot & a lot of the times muggy, so for our bedroom I like it to feel as simple & refreshed as possible! Today I through a couple items together in a little mood board inspiration while online shopping last night & this is what I came up with! I tend to gravitate towards vintage blues & for some ODD reasons pops of red in the summer, and oh you know lots of creamy soft white linens!!! I also picked these particular items because they were goods that you could simply pick up just about ANYWHERE & for MUCH cheaper than the prices listed below! Staple goods like sheets, pillows, baskets, greenery & rustic candles can be found easily, because lets be honest not everyone has time to "style or refresh" a room..so I did it for you!!

I hope you guys love this cozy light space!! You can check the places above or visit your local +HomeGoods  , +Marshalls  etc.. For these similar decor items!

Wishing you all a happy Tuesday! Be sure to stay tuned for some things happening in our dining room & some more summer ideas & inspiration via the blog & my social media { Links below to follow along

{ 6 Month DIY Farmhouse Mason Jar Bathroom Light UPDATE & REVIEW }

You guyssss this post has me really excited!!! It's our 6 month review on our DIY Farmhouse Bathroom Light Fixture we made for close to nothing & without any drilling etc.. It's one of our most pinned posts { Follow me with the links below} & for great reason!! It seriously was the easiest project & added so much charm to a rather plain light fixture & bathroom! Today I'm sharing some info since we checked this project off our list about 6 months ago! Before I get started I'm going to be honest this bathroom is incredibly hard to photograph because of the space & light distribution! Bare with me on these photos I may have achieved while doing back bends { almost literally} trying to get these shots!

So since adding this DIY light we've had absolutely no problems with cracking, busting of the glass or heat accumulation issues! As stated in the original post here -->DIY FARMHOUSE BATHROOM LIGHT  ** Use with caution, although mason jars are intended for high heat, so they work perfect in our opinion. The lights in this bathroom are on for no more than 30 minutes at a time usually & the jars to get hot!!!

The "Good Morning Gorgeous" sign is from +Hobby Lobby . I have been looking for something for that little space forever & came upon this sign 50% off & picked it up for $9!! They also have a "Good Morning Handsome" one , but this is my bathroom, so it wasn't needed really.

The mason jars have stayed tightly on the light fixture with no issues, the dust accumulation inside the masons has been non- existent & the cleaning overall extremely easy if something was to happen!

As far as the bulbs burning out quicker etc.. Well, we've had these same bulbs since we finished this project with no issues. You can visit the original post on this whole DIY in the above link or I'll leave it down at the bottom!

Some simple towels, the MOST delish & awesome burning candle from +HomeGoods , toilet paper & some storage baskets tie this space all together. Super simple & farmhousey!

Side Note: That towel rod usually is empty, because I'm OCD & think that's gross haha!

I have a bunch of these old vintage wood screens & needed something for this wall, so I tried one, and added a simple wreath with the same black & white check ribbon as the storage baskets & tied it all in!

I love how the mason jars look at night!! This picture unfortunately wasn't photographed at night, but the thick glass paired with the Edison style clear bulbs look sooo vintage & pretty! I really hope you guys liked this little review & update on the bathroom & DIY light fixture!

Wishing you all a happy & healthy week!

{ DIY Cottage Cabinet Makeover for Under $10!!! }

Hey guys!! Today's post has been one I've been working on for a awhile & I'm finally ready to share this new piece in our living room! So, I've mentioned these past few weeks that right before our little northern getaway for the 4th I decided our upper living room needed a total revamp/ makeover! This included moving the couch, all new wall decor, new mixed in pieces etc.. Well, unexpectedly the day we came back from vacation my husband had to jump right back into work.. { He owns his own business ;) } we were all lagging from just enjoying 4 days of fun..Then he came home with this cabinet & a bunch of other free junkin finds & that threw me right back into " Operation: Get the living room done" hahaah! I spent the next two days painting this orangey oak 3 door cabinet that I literally fell in love with! Here's another little fact about me..I'm obsessed with anything that has french style doors, probably because it's cottagey/farmhousey!  Keep reading below for more details on this huge statement piece in our living room!

You can see from this picture before I started painting that it was an awful early 90's oak.. It need some paint & honestly I was too lazy to go to the store for moreeee paint, so I used what I had on hand. I ended up using a semi gloss Glidden pure white...Yeah, I'll be sticking to chalk paint for pieces like this if we're being honest! I love that chalk paint adheres & dries sooo much quicker etc..just a little tip!

The cabinet itself need some TLC, not only paint wise, but it had no knobs to open the doors properly, one of the shelves was broke a bit, but that was nothing to me because I'm obsessed with it!!

 I picked up 3 new vintage / cottage style knobs from +Hobby Lobby  for under $7!

Most all of the decor minus the farmhouse picture from +HomeGoods  for $25 & some greenery everything else are thrifts or free finds! These old wood glass windows Mark came home with the day of me photographing this piece & they MADE it perfect!!! They add so much rustic charm & height!

As I mentioned above the piece needed a few little repairs..The knobs were simple & the second shelf to the far left door I just ended up setting at the bottom of the double doors for some contrast! I loved how we had this wall styled before, but with the sofa & furniture changes the space needed a more statement piece since the living room felt a bit bare.. It just so happened he found this piece waiting for me to make her beautiful hehe!

Side Note: It does have working lights inside as well. I'll be posting pictures when I get a chance of it at night! Follow along via my social media for new pictures soon! Links listed at the bottom of this post!

You can see what this space in our living room looked like before here on my Instagram account -->The Quaint Sanctuary INSTAGRAM

Yes, I left the chippy smudged paint all around the windows & glass for that farmhouse appeal. I also distressed some spots for that "aged or effortless" look I crave in our home.

See what you can do with trashed pieces?? I mean for under $10 this piece looks custom & vintage! I hope you guys love it as much as we do!
