{ DIY Cottage Patio Table Pt.2 ! }

Hey pals & welcome back to TQS! So, this post isn't going to be super cute but I wanted to quickly jump on here & share with you what I did in regards to the back patio table that has been unfinished for 2 years haha..We work fast around here!.. In all seriousness I actually liked the rustic unfinished look but our weather took a toll on it & it needed a little TLC, especially since we got a nice new outdoor rug on sale at Target! I was undecided in the first part HERE , but after some thought I decided to go with crisp white paint. I went outside a few mornings ago while Mark was still sleeping & slapped 2 coats on it & love it!!! It's so bright & clean, just what the patio needed. Anyways come see this quick update below...

 Side Note: Quick pictures, excuse the quality!

I left some edges worn a bit where  I just brushed the paint on! I like the chippy distressed look still & didn't want it to look tooo perfect if that that makes sense! The paint I used was Behr exterior paint in plain white.

Of course I had to quickly style the table...It will be changing, but this is what I had on hand & I don't hate it to be honest! Simple flowers, green tray etc..

I wanted to share a fuller view, but I was so hesitant as our grass is straw currently since we haven't been running the sprinkler system & the rug is dirty from the storm the night before...but this is a progress post & not everything can always be pretty!!

Once everything is styled, not dead haha & put together I'll get some better photos & new a proper post. There's so much more to show  behind this photo..so excited to blog it!! Thanks for stopping by today, what do you think of the new { old } painted table?!

Happy Sunday!

{ New Kitchen Farmhouse + Cottage Goods from HomeGoods }

Happy Monday pals! I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm actually glad it's Monday! This has been a long weekend of home updates, issues & just life. Before I sound like I'm complaining I want to say how THANKFUL I am for my husband & his wonderful pals for coming to our rescue when our laundry room decided to flood { thankfully small amount } but just enough to make things messy, which my OCD didn't tolerate very well!! While his contractor buddies were fixing things we decided to get two new doors & fix/update some other things...See not all our summer weekends are cozy.. I promise! Anyways while in the midst of all that, I decided it was time I got some new things for the kitchen area since our vintage glass salt + pepper shakers finally took a turn for the worse haha..Let's just say that Markie went to put some pepper on his food & well got more than he bargained for ha! I knew I wanted some that were similar so I quickly popped in at HomeGoods & well come see the other cute goodies...
I had a few of these jars from a few years back from a fall collection but they busted...because I'm clumsy. Fast forward to a few days ago when our  shakers broke I spotted these 3 jars 1 large & two smaller ones & had to get them! I wasn't even thinking about the shakers & then spotted the same white milk glass mason jar shakers to go with..yay!

I also picked up that white pitcher to water our indoor & outdoor plants since our back porch hose is being worked on..I had one similar from Michaels & it cracked so this one on sale for under $10 was perfect!

This wasn't something I was planning one getting but we needed a candle for the kitchen area & this on struck my fancy! I love the packaging, color & the fragrance is SO GOOD! The hint of sweet fig but crisp late summer/fall leaf undertone is so refreshing!!

Not the funnest thing to photograph but I was on the look out for a new butter dish since ours was old & just kind of blahhh..I didn't want one that looked "new" but had some character & went with our cottage farmhouse kitchen! I like the rustic aged look & it was only $8 & the only one at least when I bought it!

This little set that matched the above storage masons was also under $10! They're perfect for our little fam of 2, the only thing I dislike is that they're not labeled but that's no big deal! They go perfectly in our little kitchen & add just a pinch more charm!

I hope you enjoyed this little update on some simple goodies I've picked up in the last few days..Sometimes I like doing these simple posts for you guys just so you can gather ideas & most of the time these posts  are big hits. What do you guys like better in terms of posts? Let me know, so I can better help you all, because it's you guys that keep me going on this blog journey! CHEERS to you ALL!

Happy Monday, pals!

{ New Antique Cottage Living Room Chair! }

So you know those pieces of furniture that you spot & just have to have?! This is one of those types of chairs. My grandma got it a while back & after she had it reupholstered I fell more in love with it. Fast forward two years later & she called me over { we live 4 blocks from each other } and told me she was giving it to me so I can enjoy it! You guyssss I nearly fainted I was so excited!!! Though she loves it, she knows I love it even more & she's a bit short for the reclining part hehe. I enlisted my sister to help shove it in the back of my Jeep in the 95 degree heat & well I LOVE it! It's super comfy, cottagey & filled the space better than the other vintage wood one that is now in our lower level! Come see this quick update on this antique beauty below..

I kept the styling super simple with dark greys & blue ticking stripe throw & pillows with some texture & summery branches on our Vintage  Hamper Table HERE . This is now the perfect place to sip peach sweet tea & read a good book or browse Pottery Barn magazines! I love that it reclines & is super sturdy for this horrendous back of mine. I think it's even more special because it's from my gram.

The upholstery & cream buttons are so charming, yet simple. I love that the wood is the same color as our antique dresser beside it too. The cost of the upholstery wasn't cheap { $400 }, but it turned out fantastic & can basically pair with any style!

The detailing is that of what my gram thinks is 1940's era, but I think I'm going to do some research & see what I can find out about this charming piece..If you have any guesses let me know in the comments!

What do you think about this new { old } piece in our upper living room? Do you have any favorite pieces that you've refurbished our have sentimental value to you? I hope you loved this cozy little nook as much as we do.

Happy Wednesday, pals!

{ Summer Cottage Garden Bedroom Refresh }

Hey pals welcome back!! I hope you all had an amazing holiday weekend & enjoyed some down time with loved ones!! We did just that & we FINALLY got our master bedroom refresh complete! I wanted to try something a bit different with this refresh, so I decided to make the hour drive to our closest Gordmans.com . We had never been to Gordmans before, so I was super excited to shop their decor inventory & even clothing!!! I mean who can say no to a new { to me } home decor store haha NOT me! When we first arrived I couldn't believe how huge & fresh it felt..I got right to shopping & immediately found a pillow I liked, but couldn't find the matching one so decided on something else, but was kindly informed that Gordmans gets a new truck every week, so that means fresh items stocked weekly..for me that's a definite plus! I had somewhat of a vision of what I wanted our "summer bedroom" refresh to look like but wasn't entirety sold on my idea...After shopping Gordmans for a few minutes I knew exactly what theme I wanted to go in thanks to their amazing selection!! Before I ramble anymore, come see the full reveal below!!!!
Side Note: This post is picture heavy..

So once I got my thoughts together after admiring everything for a minute I landed on these tin cottage tealight houses!! They struck my eyes & that's when I decided I wanted our bedroom refresh to be something of an old cottage garden retreat if you will!! I love the simplicity of them & they're super durable & lightweight, plus candles...YES PLEASE!!

Keeping with the theme of a cozy garden cottage, I spotted this pillow & I loved the grey simple wording to add to the space! The texture is thick, yet still cozy & it was under $12..I mean how could I not haha!?

Per my style, I wanted something a little whimsical to add to this space so when Mark spotted this garden style faux chandy I knew I had to have it!! It's rustic, chippy white, garden-ish & had  built in galvanized plants! It pairs nice with the rustic string lights & touches of metal, greys & wood accents!

I was also informed that Gordmans price match any competitors' items!! It's so simple, all you have to do is take the ad,website or receipt featuring the identical item you're comparing & they will match the price of the item & give you a $5 Gordmans gift card!! They pride themselves on having the lowest prices, but sometimes it's hard to keep up with the huge assortment of merchandise they get in, so they have the Lowest Price Guarantee in place as a "flag" to help them catch items that may slip by.
 When somebody price-matches, Gordmans Corporate is notified and they will work on lowering the price on that item. To me this had be sold instantly..I mean they genuinely want their shoppers to have the best & most affordable shopping experience, how cool is that?! You can read more in depth about this: Gordmans Guarantee

I needed something for on top of the chest at the bottom of our bed since my other basket broke. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but knew I wanted something wood, rustic & with texture that could hold pillows & decor. I spotted this one for under $10 & whoops it came home with me haha. I love the wood grain detail & the jute crisscross in the front!

If you know me, you know I loveee my greenery in any area of my home! I spotted these at Gordmans as well & I had to get some. I love that these brought in that cozy garden feel but still with some texture & that earthy rustic feel I crave in spaces!

I kept the bedding simple with cream ruffled sheets, an artisan cotton cream comforter & some cream, grey & tan check accents.

 I have something to admit to you guys...I am so PICKY when it comes to lamps!! Rugs & lamps..It takes me forever to find something I like..Well, I finally found these wood & metal lamps while at Gordmans & I seriously love them!! They bring in that cozy rustic feel, but still a bit modern too. They're perfect for this space in terms of size & look! They're actually Better Homes & Gardens brand, which is another thing I liked about shopping there, they have all kinds of brands higher & lower to choose from! I could have shopped for hours you guys haha.

What do you guys think of this summer cottage garden bedroom refresh? I'm so pleased with the cozy airy summery vibes going on in this space! It's bright, rustic & whimsical..everything a cozy bedroom needs right?! I almost forgot, be sure to check out your local Gordmans for their anniversary event on July 21st in all stores!!

Happy Monday!
