{ Spring Cottage Fireplace Update & New Pieces.. }

Hi, guys!!! What a day today {Tuesday} was...yikes!!! Seems like one thing after another, but trying to stay positive I mean look around at the life most of us live...Very nice, right?! Sometimes my little OCD loving heart needs to take a step back & just let things be a little chaotic instead of everything always in its place..perfection ruins things & I need to learn this. I think I've always been like this even as a child, yet also a free spirit always doing what others weren't etc..This leads me to today's post on our little chippy cottagey fireplace upstairs..I shopped with my mom this weekend & picked up some new goodies 2 of them being these vintage inspired wooden pallet stools from @homegoods!! I had seen them before,but skipped on them..My mom was drawn to them right away so I thought why not for the upper living room for foot rest for each of us & then the new sleeker coffee table HERE & I'd love it...Ya, not so much! I got them home & they didn't fit the space at all, but then my mom & I almost at the exact same time looked at the fireplace ..We placed them next to it & I wasn't loving them, but they were great fillers & can be used in lots of areas in the house/outside..so I kept them- for now ha! Come see the fireplace mantel simplified & these vintage crates that weren't perfect for one space, but are for another! P.S. see what I did there hahaha..jk, but I am trying on not always having things perfect etc.. Anyways come have a sneak peek at this work in progress space!

You can actually see in this pic I have them laying down next to the side of the fireplace. I actually prefer this way as I shared on my IG , but I haven't found the right items to style like that, so today I'm sharing this way which I like also! They give the fireplace some added dimension without being overpowering & I loved the rustic pallet wood look! Maybe I'll paint them white...opinions welcomed!

The greenery is from @ikea!

Since the wood pallets give the fireplace so much added charm I wanted to go super simple yet still farmhousy, so I added some glass mason jars I already had & stuck some greenery in them. The weathered wood & burlap flower buckets are from ATHOME Stores!

I love these antique table legs paired with them..& bonus these have special meaning to me as they were from my grandparents 100 year old table I salvaged.

**So now that you had a little sneak peek..Which way would you style these rustic wood pallets? Flat next to the fireplace for stacked like the above picture? Should  I paint them white..?

Happy Wednesday!!

As always THANK YOU for stopping in on my little growing blog. { Homegoods Bench Turned Living Room Coffee Table }

This week is moving right along around our little suburban cottage! I meant to have something ready for you guys on Monday, but to be honest we were busy the entire weekend & it felt great!! Our Michigan weather was perfect this weekend, so we got outside when we had down time & spruced up the front & back all day, and I may have spent wayyyyy too much money in the process! I wanted something fresh for our front porch area as we plan on selling soon! I also spotted the cutest little bench @homegoods while out shopping with my mom..I did an IG story { my IG -HERE } about 2 out of the 3 pieces I picked up, but kept this one on the down-low since I knew I wanted to blog it! Little back story we've been looking for a new coffee table that was sleek,yet wide enough to still be able to set a tray on & also move easily on our jute rug for when we want to put our feet up etc..We had the matching @ikea ottoman for awhile, but it was just soo bulky & didn't work for that space any longer & this table at one time too HERE ..Skip ahead to this weekend & I found the cutest green bench that I knew would work perfect for a coffee table & foot rest!!! My mom also liked the idea & when we went  to grab it seen it was on sale for under $35!! I snagged it up along with the other two pieces { blog post coming soon } . I didn't think Mark would like it, but he actually loved it & mentioned how much more room it gave us & the pibbs too! Come see this little conversion below!!!

I forgot I had this rustic leather tray in my decor room..It was a free find & fits so perfectly on the bench/table!! The coasters were a DIY  HERE if you're interested & the candles & flowers are from @michaels! The crock was a free find!

I love how cozy  fresh pops of green can make a space! Green is my favorite color & adding this new piece helps balance the chippy green stool I blogged HERE! You can see I loved this look, but needed something a bit bigger..Patients paid off in this case haha

I usually have these two pillows on the back of our sectional so the pups don't try to nest up there haha. They fit nicely under here so why not ha! These farmhouse stripe pillows are from @ikea for $4 each!!

What do you think of this little conversion from bench to sleek coffee table? I'm kind of in love with it & especially for the warmer summer months!  Let me know down below in the comments what you think!

Happy Tuesday, friends!

{ Cottage Style Living Room Easter Mantel Decor }

Happy Friday friends & thanks so much for stopping back in!! If you've been following me you would most likely know I've been out of commission for a few days because of my back...not fun! While I've been taking it easy  I did decide to add a few touches of spring/Easter to our upper level living room fireplace! I know I should've resting, but I literally can't go more than a few hours without decorating or thinking about decor/blogging etc..I'm obsessed & to be honest it's like therapy..or just my true passion I guess!!! I knew I couldn't do anything like painting or DIY these last few days, so I decided to do something simple, yet would cozy up our upper level for spring..even though it's currently hailing outside..#michigan haha! I've said it a few times but Easter isn't really my thing, but lately I've actually enjoyed adding springy Eastery touches around the house..Probably because it's been super gloomy here in the north! Anyways enough small talk ,come see our cozy & fresh mantel below!!!

I had these baskets in our guest room from at Hobby Lobby that I picked up last year for $4 each! They just so happen to match the grey check pillow covers from Ikea! The grass greenery is also from Ikea & the eggs are from Hobby Lobby.

The "herbs" sign was a DIY many years back..before blogging I believe.

Galvanized goods, greenery & vintage mason jars complete this white chippy milk painted mantel!

The bunny garland is from Target for $3!

The wooden legs are from an old family table, the pussy willow branches are from Michaels & the crocks were free finds!

What do you guys think of our cozy, greenery filled fireplace mantel? I love how rustic ,yet fresh & farmhousy it looks! The bits of Easter make it just festive enough without being overpowering I think! Let me know your favorite Easter / spring decor to use in the comments!

Happy Friday & weekend!!!

{ Bright & Cheery Cottage Style Easter Decor Inspiration }

Hey guys I wanted to pop on here today & share something quite out of the norm for me...Decor with COLOR!!! I know gasp right?! As I was cleaning like a mad lady this past weekend, I also was decorating our little suburban cottage with lots of spring decor & some new items I picked up for the dining room...This new decor was a cheery country artsy type of plate that was splashed with color!! I loved the placemats & dishes in the store, but then when I got them home I didn't like them at all!! It hit me that I struggle with using color I think because color to me means less cozy & more sterile. Not always the case,but compared to neutrals this can be the issue! With all that being said, I went on the hunt for Easter/ Spring decor with color, cozy patterns & that whimsical Easter charm with a touch of cottage style too! Come see some of my favorite items I pulled together below!

I've always been a fan of this light whimsical country blue color & paired with the softest pale pink for Easter is perfect! The item that started this whole board was the checkered blue pillows!! I think I NEED these in my life!! They looks so fresh & cozy with that pop of color still! The hydrangeas , jute rug & cute bunny mug / pitcher are simple, yet festive touches! My second favorite to the pillows would definitely be the Easter eggs with letters!

Stayed tuned for some changes around our cottage coming soon! I hope you guys liked this quick little inspiration board & decor ideas! What do you think of these items & the pops of colors?

Happy Wednesday!

{ Super Simple Cottage Style Spring Tablescape Idea }

We're are only on Tuesday & I'm already feeling really tired this week y'all!! It seems like every year around this time everything starts picking up for us & this year is definitely no exception around here...I woke up to my husband saying he scheduled a walk-through for a potential house this upcoming weekend, listings & his big ole diesel is being fixed, so that means using my Jeep back & forth mixed with working & well..LIFE! It always seems with us when we go to move that we get a new vehicle along with buying a new house...never planned, but always seems to happens that way. We've been looking for some land & a new house for 2 years, just 2.5 years after we moved into this house { which we love } but we need more land because of all our equipment etc.. So, see why I'm feeling tired already...Anyways today is all about the super simple Easter/Spring tablescape I popped together a few days back! I cleaned the entire house, moved & redecorated each room & thought I'd share how a  festive table can still be cozy & neutral at the same time!

I was craving a simple cleaned off table with just some jute placemats , gold rimmed dishes, some little Easter touches & a farmhouse tea towel cloth from +IKEA USA

The simplicity is what I'm loving, but also how simple can also be cozy & cute as well!

I asked you guys via IG Stories HERE the other day which you liked better { these neutral planters or floral plates} & most of you said these, so back to the store the plates went! These are super old, but I still love them & they were really affordable from +IKEA USA .

If you read yesterday's blog post I blogged this cabinet styled for Easter HERE
I decided to add it in today's post after I restyled it again..I'm kind of digging this cabinet & how it looks all decked out for spring! The brown glass mason jars, brass lids & bright green apples pulled it all together!

How beautiful does this cabinet look?! I'm not going to lie, I kind of neglected this cabinet for awhile without really styling or opening it..I fell back in love it with & gave it some much need attention instead of just "having" it! I do wish this cabinet has more storage for all my dishes though..I may be sharing a new piece soon!!

I know I shared this sign quite a bit in the last few months, but it goes so lovely in our dining room & I love the dishes & planters next to it..plus the wording are all the heart eyes!!!

What do you guys think about this bright spring table & greenery filled dining room of ours?? I think this may be my most favorite spring dining room yet!! You can see our whole Spring Home Tour HERE if you're interested in some more inspiration!!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

{ Farmhouse Style Neutral Easter Cabinet }

Oh heyyy Monday & everyone!! I hope you all has a lovely weekend..ours was eventful to say the least, but I wouldn't expect anything else in our household ugh haha. Anyways I had to step back for a minute this weekend & just focus on styling & photographing something before I let the issue at hand get the best of me...I randomly decided to clean & tear apart our vintage 1940's chippy white corner cabinet in our dining area & style it for Easter..I'm not one to go crazy for Easter decor by any means, but I had to share this little space I decided to add a bit of festive charm with goods I already had stashed away! I didn't want anything too bright or contrasting to what we love which is cottage & farmhouse treasures..So that meant some simple greenery, bundle of carrots & some glass goodies! Come take a peek at what I did for this little cabinet in less than 20 minutes..Oh & thank you sun for finally being out here in Michigan!!

I've been really into gold & these vintage thrift plates were no exception! I love the simple faux farmhouse eggs from +Hobby Lobby  paired with the spring succulents & dishes!

The mug is from +Marshalls  & I thought it was perfect for Easter ..I may not have coffee in it, but some yummy hot chocolate was even better!

I love these little carrot bunches I picked up from Tuesday Morning store! They added that tiny bit up Easter without being overwhelming! I maybe adding more to this cabinet for Easter, but for now the eggs & little carrots make this super cozy & with a touch of festivity!

This cabinet was one of our very first DIY projects back in 2008 when we lived in our stylish & fun condo!! I think it will always be a part of my furniture & decor, at least for now anyway!

I hope you guys liked this simple Easter/Spring cabinet all decorated! What's your favorite piece to decorate with & do you decorate for Easter?

Happy & healthy Monday!
