{ Vintage Christmas Cottage Silent Night Fireplace }

Today's post is going to be short but sweet. I wanted to quickly pop on here & share our cozy cottage silent night fireplace with you all. It's been a busy day not just physically but mentally for me. I'm a nervous wreck about Thursday's doctor appointment because I have a lot of issues to go over with a brand new doctor. Sharing & soaking in Christmas makes me so content & what I crave. I got to enjoy this space with my bff Vin & sister tonight while the doggies rough housed & it was EVERYTHING. Later Mark & I lit candles & enjoyed some homemade hot spaghetti together..You see we are very simple people enjoying our little cozy Christmas cottage. I hope you love this fireplace with goods from local shops...

I'm going to be honest with you all... I actually got all these things last year from a local shop selling farmhouse goods for 75% off!! My sister suggested we go look a few days after Christmas & we hit the JACKPOT! I snatched up the burlap ticking stripe stockings, sign, vintage tree cake pans & more for under $20.  So, needless to say that was my inspiration for this year's mantel!

** You can SEARCH the right side panel for other year's past Fireplace looks or our NAVIGATION BAR under SEASONAL!

Okay, I know showing your TV or cable box is frowned upon while photographing but come on, we all watch TV & that's why I call my self a "practical home blogger", so sorry for the cable box! Anyways, the white bench is a free thrifty find & the red basket I added to compliment the berry theme with The reds & blue ticking stripe! The vintage clock I added last minute & it completed the "vintage silent night" theme.

The sign is from a local shop "The Barn " & was custom made. I love the classic pewter blue with the stockings & vibrant red Christmas berries.

These vintage cake pan trees are my most favorite on the mantel! Simple, cozy & classic. See you can use decor in ANY spots of your home. Be you, decorate for YOU & love YOUR work!

The bows added charm the vintage TV doors & also gave that whimsical classic 1930's Christmas vibe or "silent night" look! The sign is from HomeGoods!

I'm sorry this post was a bit short but I sure hope you loved it's cozy vibe! Thank you for visiting & sharing my work & ideas, it means a lot to this blog lady hehe.

Happy Wednesday!

{ Vintage New England Style Cottage Christmas Porch }

Hope your Monday was good to you pals. Mine wasn't great but wasn't horrible. Any day that I'm not dizzy these days is g o o d!! I mean it was a Monday, so a few hiccups but Christmas always makes it better. I shared a sneak peek on my Instagram HERE a sneak peek of our front porch & my inspiration for it all... We had the best Sunday enjoying warmish weather here in Michigan prepping the yard, enjoying neighbors, herding dogs & of course sprucing up our little cottage porch with some vintage bulbs & a New England Christmas Style Flare!!!  Keep reading below for more on this space....

W E L C O M E!

Since the rest of the porch is very bold & vibrant I wanted to keep the front door fresh & simple. I added this realistic wreath with a simple red ribbon bow. The new french storm door & the fresh white paint & black knob compliment the traditional red cottage brick.

So a little back story how this porch came about & why I chose this "New England" style vintage Christmas decor..First I've always had a thing for the New England states..like I'm obsessed, and secondly I wanted something different than the masses..meaning plain white neutral. Maine is pretty much my favorite & I would move there if I had the chance to. It's so quaint, cozy & the antiquing is out of this world! The style up there is like no other & well I LOVE IT! I wanted this year's porch to be bold, vintage & cozy with specs of New England!

Side Note: I had all these treasures with the exceptions of the "Cabin Sign"

When I think of Maine or any of the New England states I think of big colorful vintage bulbs, textured picnic baskets, tennis rackets & all the fresh pine greens! I know this is true style up there because well I've been a few times & it's breathtaking!  I picked these fresh blue berry pine greens  from our property & mixed in some faux ones for the color.

The wreath I just wrapped in our vintage bulb collection & added the Cabin sign from HomeGoods I picked up for $8. The vintage toboggan was a free find & I just threaded some red ribbon through it.

The red pillows wrapped in burlap are from HomeGoods & a few corners were "chewed" by the middle child { dog } so I reused them out here! The" Merry Christmas" sign was a DIY a few years back!

There's nothing that brings me more joy than the glow of vintage Christmas lights! When I say I'm Christmas crazy...it's the truth y'all ha!

 I hope you all loved my little story about one of my favorite places { Maine } & why I went with this theme. I'm telling you from my heart if you ever get the chance to visit Kennebunkport, Maine - GO, GOO NOW ha! Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Tuesday!

{ Country Cottage Vintage Christmas Diner Tablescape }

Oh my have I been anxiously awaiting  to share this space with you all!!! I've shared tons of sneak peels on my Instagram but I'm finally able to share the full space & I'm so excited!! Out of all the years I've been blogging this is one of my absolute favorite tablescapes & dining rooms for that matter because of the spring spruce up we competed. We white washed the entire house with fresh crisp white paint, added grilles to the windows, new doors etc.. It looks so fresh & my vision came to life which a lot of the times doesn't happen with my crazy ideas haha! I had this feeling of wanting a cozy country cottage diner inspired dining room this year with pops of cool blue ticking stripe, bold reds, LOTS of berries & woods mixed in for that almost cool vintage New England Christmas! This whole theme started around a certain piece I'll be showing below, but enough rambling ha, come take a peek BELOW!!

I loved this little sign from @homegoods so I thought why not hang it on the chalkboard..I also grabbed these pom garland from good ole HomeGooods. I love the whimsical country diner with a touch of vintage feel.

The lanterns were the first thing I set on the table for this look. They screamed country cozy & they make a statement. I added some trees & velvet red fabric with berries mixed in. My mom picked up the ticking stripe runner & placemats which COMPLETED this look/idea I was going for.

The last thing I needed was something reminiscent of a cozy country vintage diner tucked away in a little town that served the best coffees & pies...These mugs were my finishing touch & I couldn't love them with their matching blue striped dinner plates & my vintage gold rimmed desert dishes. They're @KateSpade from HomeGoods.

Coffee anyone? Tea? Hot Chocolate?

I forgot to mention above that I layered the blue ticking stripe place settings with these velvet rimmed napkins. They matched the tree fabric in the lanterns so I bought them...It wasn't until my Gram popped over & layed them out like this...She's my inspiration. I miss her cottage lake home & crafts galore.

The wrapping paper matched the theme so well & was a whopping $1.

Happy Monday!

{ Antique Christmas Styled Vintage Cabinet }

PALS  W E L C O M E  BACK!!!! Whoa, I'm so happy to be writing this!! It may take me an hour to write this little bit, but I wanted to share what's been going on with me...Firstly, I L I V E for the Holiday season every year, like I literally count down until it's November..Well, this November has not been very fun for me. I was having Thanksgiving dinner with my family enjoying desert & all of a sudden I had to run to the bathroom because I was so dizzy..not just like dizzy but I was spinning out of control. I was all flushed & immediately splashed some cold water on mt face thinking maybe I had to much sugar or excitement. For the next 6 hours I vomited profusely while still spinning out of control! I said goodbye to my guest as we were hosting & went to bed. The next day I woke up to an even worse spinning & I was drenched in sweat & more vomiting followed. I called my mom & she rushed me to the E.R where I was nearly in a comatose state by then..they hooked me up to  a bunch of stuff & I went home. It's been 8 days of meds & I still feel completely out of my mind. I will be seeing the doctor this week { earliest I could get in } & to say I'm afraid is an understatement especially with all my other issues. Anyways THANK YOU for the outpouring of love & wishing me well. Today I want to share our vintage Christmas cabinet in our dining room with you all. My theme was "Authentic Vintage Country Christmas Diner". I hope you LOVE it...

For this cabinet I took all my collections of vintage bottles, milk glasses, mason jars from Maine, wine glasses & some newer vintage style plates & mini keg for this cabinet. I added in some sprigs of greenery & of course my Coca- Cola glasses for that vintage pop of red!

One of my most favorite things in this cabinet are the vintage mini glass cake holder, & the mini red ticking stripe inspired keg. The pops of greenery add to the festive charm & you would see in a vintage diner around the holidays..of course theirs would be filled with delicious pies & cookies haha..

The pops of gold plates with the red & green add to the charm.

That little Christmas tree plate is made of pottery & it's my favorite. Simple touches all around in this cabinet!

I hope you liked this cabinet & all of my treasures, antiques & collections. Do you collect anything special ?

Happy Saturday!

{ Inspirational Cottage Style Christmas Lookbook }

Hey pals welcome back!! I've been busy getting all the spaces ready for Christmas around our little cottage home & just taking in the holidays { Yes, already ha! }. I'm loving the simple changes we made to this home even if it won't be our forever home..more on that later! I decided since most people cruise Pinterest, blogs, google, magazines etc.. that I would put together a simple little update or "lookbook" if you will of what we have so far..I didn't include our bedroom or the fireplaces etc.. because well, they're not completely photographed yet!! I know many bloggers only choose certain areas to photograph { which I love }, but we go alll out around here for Christmas! I wait all year for this cozy time & like to cherish it by soaking in the festivities, decor & magical feeling it brings. I usually do the porch, our bedroom, both dining areas, both living rooms & this year maybe the kids' { AKA doggie} room!!! Anyways grab a cup of  extra chocolatey hot chocolate & come see what I put together so far..

This is & always will be one of my favorite views in this little cottage! I love the authentic bar door, cottage door, crisp white walls & the most simple Balsam Hill wreath!
* I can't wait to show you what's on the the other side of this..I went in a completely different direction this year!!

The start of our little wood cottage porch!! We have to run new electrical for the lighting which I hope works to plan eeek, but I did get the wreaths out, pillows, rugs etc.. AND because I'm so fancy I barely brushed my hair, have cut-off leggings on & a paint stained t-shirt underneath this coat haha..Oh & it was 35 degrees out..I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!

This is another sneak peek of the area I mentioned above!! I'll share each room just like every other year but thought I'd share this cabinet quickly!!
*Side Note: Be sure to head to my navigation bar at the top & click "SEASONAL" for all our other Christmas decor from past years!!

My very own Clarke W. Griswold haha! Don't worry he was on the roof too..picture? I think so haha

So, here is a HUGE sneak peek of my idea & theme this year!!! Yup, that's blue mixed in..! I'll share more super soon & the dishes are to DIE for...They basically set the tone for this year's theme!

This is the first time in 6.5 years we have had a  7.5ft tree upstairs in the living room! I usually have a tree in here but smaller, dining room as well & then a big one downstairs and in our bedroom. This year I went all kinds of different & I love it it in front of this vintage dresser that was my dad's when he was a boy. My mom did an amazing job refinishing it. The cottage window, wood & country tree have me filling so cozy!
I hope you enjoyed this simple & quick lookbook..Be sure to come back daily for more rooms I'll be featuring then the full Christmas Home Tour!

Happy Tuesday!
