{ Quaint Christmas Entry Sitting Area}

Happy Wednesday,  pals! Whoa I've been on the Inspiration bus lately! If you've been a longtime blog follower you know I never follow the masses in decor, life or fashion for that matter...Decor especially though! I like to bring you comfy, attainable, fresh & affordable ideas + decor! I've mentioned before but our entryway isn't super big, but big enough for a mini dropzone/ sitting are & our mudroom  closet! Today I'm here to share a comfy little Christmas sitting area using one of my favorite pieces that I don't think I've ever blogged...but at this point all the posts are running together so I may have haha!
• Come read below why the star of this post is so special to me...

I'm in love with these faux Fraser Fir trimmings from a gift shop my mom frequently shops... Secrets out mom ha! They look so fresh & festive sitting in these mini  antiques crocks we've collected!

I went for a copper, fresh trimmings, browns, bronze & vintage look in this little area! This sign on one wall of the entry couldn't be more perfect for Christmas!! Lots of holiday greens, furry slippers & wood tones!

This table was my grandma's mom { I never met her} but I hear she was an incredible lady { like my gram} . It's well over 70 years old & I  believe my gram said it's from Canada ! It's sooo cozy, vintage & in perfect shape!

After I moved the new side table { see my Instagram for a peek} I had this little gem to put somewhere, & it just so happened to fit perfectly right here!

Again, lots of greens, bronzes,  creams & of course vanilla candles!! This little entry gets used daily, so I kept decor simple...well simple for me!

This pillow was a nifty find for $13. It's tough & handmade..& also not mass produced which is always nice. It's small & fit perfect right here.

I love that you see the red berries peeking through the white wood window flower boxes outside!! This charm & Christmas ambiance is real in this little space♡.

What do you think about this quaint little entryway? Do you love the family treasure as much as we do? This is one of those pieces I'll cherish forever. For sure!!
•• Do you have any cherished pieces?
SHARE  with me!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

{ Old Fashioned Christmas Tree Decor }

So, about six months before Christmas  I start brainstorming Christmas ideas for every room I'm planning on sharing that year! Well, this year I planned an old fashioned vintage Christmas with orange slices, cinnamon sticks, branches etc... Fast forward & it seems to be super popular this season..which is good & bad I guess ha. I took a little bit of a different route & decided to do freestanding orange slices,  cinnamon bundles & eucalyptus with mixed in unfinished wood stocking ornaments!! Today I'm  here to share our 2019 Christmas tree Inspiration look!! Sorry in advance for the short post today, I'm  fighting vertigo yet again..Anyways, get comfy & come take a peek below...

These Facebook Marketplace chairs couldn't be any better for this year's holiday decor look!! The green + cream check pattern pull from the trees goods & vice versa! Old fashion with a hint of effortless whimsical  magic!

I love the deep browns, vintage chandeliers & lots of greens & creams with the vibrant orange slices scattered within the tree & mantel garland..I never thought I'd be using orange in Christmas decor, but I just love the simple old fashion Christmas items.

We go to Holiday Nights at Greenfield village almost every year & they give me so much vintage Christmas Inspiration ! I love the old cozy welcome decor & dinner settings...If you've never been to Greenfield Village Holiday Nights..GO!! You'll be in total ahhhhhh the WHOLE time. PROMISE!

I hope you like this simple old fashioned tree decor. Have you ever decorate with oranges, cinnamon bundles or eucalyptus branches for Christmas? I'm  sure you're all ahead of me in this haha.

Happy Tuesday!

{ Cozy Holiday Basement Dining Nook }

Happy CYBER MONDAY!! You know what that means CHRISTMAS everything!! One area I never share is our downstairs dining nook!! I'm  not sure why I don't other than it's darker down there & well not finished EXACTLY the way I want it...Okay, maybe I do know why ha. Well, today I thought I'd share a glimpse of what it looks like with a few touches of Christmas...this space isn't exactly how I want it but it actually  gets used quite often, especially during the holidays! So, today I'm sharing this little dry kitchen nook in our lower level!!!

I kept things super simple with a cozy little mini whiskey keg from Target, bottle brush trees & cupcake candles! I added the white runner for brightness, since our lower level can be darker..especially with our Michigan winter starting!

Adding a Christmas plaid pillow to the dining table bench & some red ticking stripe pillows  help with the Christmas vibe without it being loud...Because the living room take the cake { Blog POST COMING SOON}. This table isn't my favorite,  but it's sturdy, comfortable & a nice overflowing for guest. We bought it brand new from a chain store  2012 { who were we¿?} & I'm  pretty sure that's the only new table we've owned..hahaha Our rustic love runs deep ha!

The vintage mini mugs are to a set with a matching bowl that was gifted to me!! I love the nostalgic feel. I set some white candle sticks & gold rimmed dishes on this rustic hutch above the microwave.

This piece came from an old home up in Michigan! It's handmade,  so sturdy & the rustic barnwood is amazing!! I've never shared this but I have a love for hutches...& barnwood...dream piece!!

Hope you enjoyed this little unfinished space!! It's cute, functional & super comfy & clean.  • What spaces do you have that aren't finished,  but you're working on & loving in the process?

{ DIY Thrifty Berry Christmas Wreath }

So every Christmas  season  I try incorporate at least two simple, cozy & festive DIY projects that anyone can make for their home. No power tools, big budget or help needed. Well, today I'm  super excited to share the MOST simple double ribboned Christmas  berry wreath!! I needed a wreath for our front door to coordinate with our 2019 Christmas porch { Coming Soon } , so I made one for $6...Yup, 6 dollars!!!
•Come read & WATCH the tutorial below...

S U P P L I E S:

  • Wreath { any kind} I used Boxwood
  • Berries { $6 pack from Target }
  • Two kinds of ribbon
  • Small zip tie

STEP 1
I picked up these this $6 bag of berry clippings at Target. The wreath I already had, you could even use a thrift store or one you have!

STEP 2
Take the berries out of the bag & put in the middle of the wreath for easy access.

STEP 3
Start at the bottom middle  of the wreath & work your way up on one side about half way, then do the same on the other side staggering them. Make sure the berry stems are tucked into the wreath securely into the twine or thick part of the wreath { super simple}. No scissors, glue etc... needed!

STEP 4
Once the berries are all placed & secured, it's time for the ribbon!! I used two different shades of green ribbon I had leftover from decorative pillow packaging sets! Simply tie a bow with each, layer them & attach with a small zip tie { or bread tie}.

Place the bows on top of each other & slip the zip tie through the middle of each bow into the twine. Adjust ribbon to cover zip tie if necessary.  A bread tie can be used on the back to secure even more.

VOILA, A BEAUTIFUL  CHRISTMAS WREATH using things around the house- HASSLE FREE!♡

{ Vintage Christmas Coffee Table }

Happy Sunday, pals & welcome back to TQS! So back in September when we went on our week long 10 year anniversary trip we did a lot of antiquing in northern  Michigan!! We left the cottage for two days & went even farther north up by Petoskey to Carp Lake, MI to visit my aunt! While visiting we drove the Petoskey coast & stopped at a bunch of little country antique dealers..I ended up randomly finding this old chippy table in a tent sale in town...for a whopping $20!!! You know I snatched it up ha. The character, look & size were perfect for our upstairs living room. Well, like usual I forgot to blog it, so today I am sharing it fir Christmas in all of it charm!! Come see the full reveal below..

I wanted to keep with the rustic dainty vintage  Christmas look, so I just added a little mini tree, wood stocking ornaments & simple "Merry Christmas " ribbon!!

It's  a smaller table, which works out great for us, especially with the dogs running around constantly.  I love the white oval top & chippy brown legs..the character oozes from this little table!

I layered it to add a bit more depth & height with this wood cubby, & leather tray! Few rustic decor goods { almond candle,  vintage wood tobacco pipes, matches & a pottery plate..}

The details...so cozy. I think this is about the only piece of furniture I didn't have to paint..Out of all of the pieces we've had!!

The browns, whites & creams with touches rustic whimsical flare are pretty much my going theme upstairs ...I can't  wait to share downstairs-SOON!!

Did you guys like this cozy little thrifty coffee table? Sometimes the thriftyiest pieces entail the most charm with minimal effort & this little coffee table is just that!

{ DIY Christmas North Pole Santa Mudroom }

This is the first year that we have a little  mudroom  in our home. We do have an actual  entry & step-up with a closet..but that closet wasn't  being used to it's  full potential.  It was dark & frankly closed off the rest of the entry & we basically  just shoved stuff in there & closed it ha. A few months ago I got fed up of wasting a deep  entry closet that could have way more use!! We painted it white, added a leather bench with storage, bins & removed the outdated bifold door. Now it's  open, useful, lighter & we can actually  walk- in & sit down to put winter gear on..& kick shoes off so they aren't  in the actual entry. Not massive  but sooo cute & functional.  WELL, today I'm  sharing how I styled  it for Christmas!!!!!!!! I usually  just styled  the entryway wall, but now since we actually  have a little  mudroom... it was a must plus it was fun!!!! Come see the full festive little  mudroom below.....

I had a vague idea of what I wanted this bright & cheerful Santa mudroom closet to look like! I wanted it to feel like the jolly ole guy just got in from his workshop...His jackets hanging up, suspenders & big black boots!!

The sign was a random  find at HomeGoods . It was the only one hid on a back shelf.  It caught my eye because it had "post office" on it & I  wanted to incorporate that in this little  mudroom closet!! My love for stationary runs deep  HERE so I wanted to incorporate " letters to Santa "  with cards, post office goods etc..  Santa's entryway & mail station if you will ha.

The Santa suit is Mark's. You could say we're  both Christmas  crazy haha. It was gifted to him & is super nice in quality  as well. He's  played Santa for our niece & now our other 3yr old niece sooon..along with vintage bells { I'll  be ringing} ha. It was the perfect addition to Santa's North Pole Mudroom!

I picked up 4 things for this space, red boot planter, gift boxes, sign & mini ski pillow..The gift boxes are for actual gifts to family though, that I just incorporated. $30 & voila!

Have you sent your letter out to Santa yet? 😁.

I hope you loved this cozy bright post. I know I usually  go neutral but I had to show this cheery holiday little  DIY mudroom!!
