{ Historic Vintage Christmas Sitting Room }

 Ahhhh my most favorite time of the year!! November & December are indeed my favorite, even if they are the most chaotic too  usually  ha! I finally was able to finish our 2021 Christmas decor { for the most part }. I tried something new this year... I stepped entirely out of my comfort zone & used lots of vintage inspired colors, warmth & TONS of brass goods!! I have to be honest, I had no idea going into this year's holiday season what I was going to do throughout the house. Typically I do neutral in the living room & colorful in the family room. This year I had zero ideas..BUT it's definitely my most favorite in the almost 10 years I've been blogging I promise! Come see the year's upstairs sitting room below.....

I can't tell you how warm & almost enchanting this upstairs sitting room is this season! It's warm like a great big hug & so magical!! Lots of brass, vintage chipped blue, flocked, vintage ticking stripe , greys & aged reds!

I love history & wanted to recreate a vintage tree with lots of warm character! The gold & teal mercury bulbs, wood & white glowing lights finish this tree!! The cabinet I wanted to be super warm & filled with textured antique goods! Baskets, antique wood pipes, lanterns & a tin joy sign!

The pillows coordinated well with the tree bulbs & pops of reds add that holiday ambiance with classic red bows!

These vintage burlap & cotton sock  stockings add that touch of antique, whimsical & historic look! For Stewart, Swartz & Sugar { our three rescues }.

The chalkboards were previously here,
I just took & brushed the frame borders with brass paint!!

Mixed in lots of beads, bells & old vintage/ historic elements for layers of coziness!!!

I've loved this chocolate tin for years, my gram finally gifted it & I just added some extra bulbs from the tree & beads to the brass candlesticks & wicker tray!

The vintage houses from the pillow below were the big inspiration!! So these woods houses were a must on the mantel!!

I hope you were inspired in any way possible by this oh so warm & comfy Christmas sitting room!

HAPPY Tuesday!

{ First Glimpse at Christmas }

 NOVEMBERRR! You guys know what that means...CHRISTMAS EVERYTHING! I live for the holidays & once November/ December hit I'm Mrs Clause haha! I went simple,⁷ but with a look I haven't showcased here on the blog ever, at least not that I know of in 9 years! Anyways  come see a comfy homey upstairs decorated partially for Christmas!! More to come......

I wanted to go very old time vintage with a retro flare with lots of brass, color & a touch of mercury glass blue... The pillow was the main inspiration!! Old- time snowy Breckenridge country town!

Vintage brass chalkboards, antique inspired sign, lots of beads & chipped classic ornaments & it's cozy white fireplace perfection!! The black table has the same wood & stain as the coffee table { that I've never shared yet }!! Both pieces are over 50 years old & from Canada!!

I hope you loved this sneak peek a this year's  2021 Christmas home! What theme are you implementing in your home this year?

HAPPY Wednesday!

{ Jack-o-lantern Fall Porch }

 Blogging on a Saturday? That's where we're at & I love it! I'm so excited to share this fall front porch with you all!! Sorry I've been sharing so much exterior decor & design lately, but I can't help it...It's gorgeous weather & who doesn't want to be outside with the leaves & wind rustlingabout?! I've been keeping the inside pretty neutral, because we had some special guest touring it last week! Anyways come gather some inspiration & see some of our gathered goods we dried below.

We went all out with the fall decor this year!! 12 stalks of corn, lanterns, pumpkins, vintage tools, harvest & foliage galore!

I had a vision to get this cute garden bed by our chimney extra cute this year! Mulch, rocks, mums, & vintage garden pots & tools!

Did I ever tell you about the time we never planted a garden & got tomatoes & gourds haha true story!! These are some of the gourds we picked! The rest are from up in northern Michigan at our cottage!

Simple & fresh! The little jack-o-lanterns were the perfect touch from my gram!!

Paint splattered moccasins are what you can find me in 24/7 around our little suburban cottage !! Did you decorate your front porch for fall or autumn this year?

HAPPY Sunday!

{ Halloween Flower Box Decor }

 When this goes out it will be close to Monday, but wow what an awesome last week & cozy weekend it's been!! I've been super busy prepping for something going on with the blog this week & my whole amazing team has really jumped into gear with me to pull everything together! I couldn't be more appreciative & overwhelmed all in one.. Today I've enjoyed a cozy Sunday with the windows open, fresh potato cabbage soup simmering & lots of blogging / mom + gram time!! Although, physically I'm a bit down from stress &  relentless  vertigo I'm super excited for Wednesday { I'll reveal whose coming for the blog  later }. Today I wanted to share our lovely foliage filled folder boxes my mom did!! Come see more below...

I had a vision with these & it was everything fall entails!! Mostly lots of New England charm, warmth & a bit of spooky mixed in.

For these boxes we went very simple! Real & faux pumpkins mixed in, vintage mini inspired brooms, sign & lots of warm fall foliage....Oh & Howard the owl 🦉  haha!

October...you're magnificent!

The perfect mix of mums, fall & Halloween! The chippy bench & vintage cans add that charm & mystery!!

I just so happened to have this owl & he matched perfect with the sign, vision & coloring!

I hope you loved this fall+ Halloween post!! Do you have flower boxes or decorate them for the season?

HAPPY Monday!

{ Traditional Fall Exterior Design }

 Hello, pals! Thanks for dropping back in on my little blog. Whoa things have been super busy & I feel like I'm in the race against time these days...For the past few weeks my best friend & my mom have helped me get my home in order for something super special coming up. Today while we were adding some finishing touches, I decided not wait until it's perfect, but just blog & get creative  while in the moment /process! Come see some New England style fall exterior design below.....

The sign was a vintage find..It's so classic & traditional + added to the fencing look.

If you've been a long time blog reader you'd know that I love everything New England entails. That most definitely includes its vibrant bold traditional fall days.

The sign, simple white picket fence lined with pumpkins, red barn garage & fall foliage made this space come to life in the most simple way.

I hope you liked this sneak peek & exterior fall post! I'll be back hopefully soon to share more about this DIY  vintage fence & what we've been up to & why...

HAPPY Monday!

{ Autumn Home Tour }

 It's Fall officially !! I'm so excited for the cooler cozier weather even though I'm missing summer since I wasn't able to enjoy it much...more on that later! Today is all about our mini autumn or fall { which do you say? } home tour!! I kept things simple, ultra neutral, but so warm & comfy!! Come see the full tour below...

One thing I've always dreamt about doing to this kitchen was making it super neutral but also very cozy & warm! Fall always gives me that chance...The brass, dried foliage & touch of Halloween make this space!

Mixing real & faux stems here! The dried look & puffy cotton blooms bring in whimsical coziness. I stuck to an ultra neutral pallet & added touches of black + primitive for Halloween too!!!

Lot's of white, chippy pieces & apothecary style items. Imagine hot chocolate in that cup there because you all know I don't drink coffee haha!

The broom wall was an absolute last minute thing...I literally had my camera going laying down on the counter while I was "diy'ing" it after I started shooting....Talk about spur of the moment! Two frames, two mini brooms & voila!!

I had to pop in at my grams' to check on her { recovering from leg bypass}. I knew I was shooting this space, but also knew I needed something....I went to her under stairs storage room & found the cat + witch sign! I come from a long line of thrifters, decorators & diy'ers!

This space couldn't be any more warm & cozy! Now all I need to do is make carmel apple crisp with vanilla ice cream & we're set 😋!

I hope you all loved this kitchen tour!! I have done one in years & it felt good to get back to the of days of blogging!

{ Fall Flower Porch }

 I honestly don't even know where to start this post! Today was h a r d! It would have been our 12th anniversary. I can't explain what happened in detail right now, but it's broken my heart into a million pieces. Lots of cleaning, organizing, removing & of course blogging! Although it was one of the most exhausting days both mentally & physically  I did get the yard & porch refreshed for fall here in the north! I went a little different in terms of colors, but also used the same sign in the post before! Keep reading below for the full look & deets...

My best friend & I re-layed the wood porch with fresh planks first! Second we added fresh dying stems from the garden! I can't name the plant because well I'm a ' green thumb' , but I love the vintage blush pink when they're dying off for fall.

The black sign, vintage blush pink stems, owl & black lanterns add that cool fall feel but also that touch of spooky from the owl & vintage inspired witch sign!

The brooms , black & hint of Halloween + fall work perfectly for this refreshed space!! The pumpkins will come off the chairs soon, because it's so relaxing to sit here on your cool Midwest autumn mornings..

I hope you loved this post. I enjoy sharing ideas that can be executed easily! This post cost nothing & I was able to use bits of nature..I'd say that's a win!!

HAPPY Monday!
