Welcome back to TQS! I took a little break after Christmas, which was good for the soul! I blog usually 4 days a week & a comfy break was nice! However, today I'm back to show a simple winter decor guide around our little cottage home!! I took down our Christmas decor December 26th & I really don't remember doing it or how fast it went haha.. I literally had it all organized, binned & put into our Christmas closet in 4 hours, which usually takes me longer due to health issues. I'm not complaining though, because it was quick, painless & New Year's is fresh & clean. Truth be told I hate when Christmas is over with...so I just remove everything asap! To keep things comfy I still like to add some winter goods... Come see more below!
WINTER COLORS:
- Dark rustic greens
- Grays
- Whites / creams
- Rich woods
- Galvanized
- Light safe greens
Another example of texture from the vintage hamper, that rustic green color, some cypress greenery & voila winter charm!
WINTER GREENERY:
- Eucalyptus
- Wispy Pine
- Holly
- Cypress
- Cedar
- Evergreen
WINTER TEXTURE:
- Woods
- Wool
- Baskets
- Fabrics
- Rugs
- Vintage items
You can see in this photo I used everything explained in the above topics.. I placed some long springs of eucalyptus in a rustic cream container perched on a warm wood bench.. See, you get the greenery, cream color, texture/ warmth of the wood & for added depth a gray +white patterned pillow! So simple but very wintery with charm!
NATURAL WINTER SCENTS:
- Orange
- Cinnamon
- Clove
- Mint
- Vanilla
- Apple
I love using natural scents after the holiday! Holiday & winter scents are my favorite as I'm not much into spring or floral/ masculine scents. Adding some natural mint, cinnamon stick bundles or drops of vanilla can add that comfy refreshing feel without being overpowering or too holiday-ish. I left some extra cinnamon sticks out on the table { above} for that warm spice scent!!
What do you think of this winter decor guide? I hope it was fun to see but more informational + helpful to you too!! Do you do / use any of these tips above in your home after Christmas?
Happy Wednesday!
