{ Charming Vintage Building Conversion + Spring Inspiration }

Today was one of those days that I just curled on the couch & watched the snow fall while watching some classic movies like "Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead" haha! I ran a zillion errands yesterday, blogged & cleaned for the week { my typical routine } so today I took a day to relax & reflect..As I said a few posts back, I'm in a transition mood with decor so I've been gathering inspiration for spring & hopefully our new home sometime this year...While I was out with a friend over the weekend we decided to stop in at a little local market { Westborn } in downtown that was converted from an old post office into the CUTEST bakery, market, flower shop & cafe! I about fainted when I walked in from all the old world charm that was left with the conversion from the post office to the market! They left so much of the brick, old drop boxes, wood work & added such cute vintage pieces for the flower shop & cafe part! The floors, old galvanized pieces & well every inch of this place had me stopping & snapping photos!! I was sad I was only able to grab a few shots since it was super busy ..Here are the ones I managed to snap!!!

I wanted to buy one of each of these little rustic plants & the super cute dishes & rustic trays!! I mean how much charm is packed into this little corner?!  The more the chippy the better right?! With the brick wall, chippy wood & old flowers pots...Charm galore!!!!

Is there anything better than some huge succulents?! Maybe I should try my hand at these again..

This wall was my most favorite in the market area! I love how they built up this wall like an old fashioned potting stand & added hooks for some vintage galvanized watering cans , while using it as decor too..genius & super cute!

I think I may have to take the hubby back this weekend to grab some of these guys for our spring dining room!! I mean these just scream spring & add so much simple charm..Let's hope my "black thumb" gets greener hahaha!

I really hope you guys liked this post...I was in my glory & love exploring new little shops like this to gather inspiration! I guess you could call me an old soul..but I just love the history & charm they left in an old building!

Wishing you all a lovely Tuesday!

{ Farmhouse Style Spring Dining Room Look! }

Heyyyyy guys!!!  I wanted to pop on here today & share some plans for our dining room this spring!! If I can be honest with you guys for a minute I've been kind of stuck lately with transitioning from winter to spring...Not lazy, but I kind of love our winter decor { See our Winter Home Tour HERE } this year & I'm just taking my time switching stuff out & coming up with what I want to change for spring..not to mention it's snowing out again { which I'm fine with, just not muddy/ rain haha} !! Another thing that has me kind of slowed down is that we are back looking for houses again!!! Yes, you heard that right...We are back on the hunt for our 3rd home!! We love the home we are in, but we need more land for my husband's business equipment & future endeavors ;) #staytuned!! If you've been following the blog for the last three years you would know that we started looking just 2 years after buying this house & it's now been two years that we've been looking & no luck for what we want..grr! 2016 was a rough year, so we put things on hold but now we're ready AGAIN..I think haha!! I don't want to do too much more to this current house, but with being a blogger that's hardly going to happen, so see that's another reason why I'm stuck..kind of hahaha! Anyways come look at what I'm thinking for spring in our little suburban cottage dining room..

What do you guys think about this cozy farmhouse dining room? I'm loving the comfy but simplistic look...& that tables...YES PLEASE!! Let me know what you're doing for decor for spring this year below or any ideas, I'd love to hear!!

Happy & healthy Monday!!

{ 2017 Cottage Style Rustic Winter Home Tour }

Heyyyy! Sorry about this past week here on TQS..we've been super busy but 2017 has been decent thus far, so no complaints! You guys know I usually blog full-time, but like I said we got a bit busy this past week with business stuff, booking a trip & just life.. so I took some "vacation" time off hehe! Anyways now that we got that out of the way I thought I'd FINALLY share our 2017 Winter Home Tour with you guys!! This is my first year doing a winter home tour & I'm actually pretty excited about it!! You all know I love winter & everything it entails, but unfortunately this year's winter here in Michigan has been super rainy & gloomy!! With that being said I wanted to get our winter decor up, so I could start decorating & blogging for spring since it's been almost like spring weather lately..Yup in February, but hey us bloggers make our own schedule haha! Grab a cozy blanket & gather some winter inspiration before the spring bug hits...

You can see the whole Dining Space HERE

Most of our rustic goods like this barrel were free vintage finds or thrifty finds from local shops!!

I went super rustic with your mantel with some basic pines cones, greenery, white candles & chippy woods goods!

I kept our lower level tree up, but just bare because it added so much charm to the lower & also looked really rustic! I also kept some of the neutral pines & added some more wintery vintage goods!

You can see more Winter Decor Tips HERE

More cottage & farmhouse style decor ideas for after winter HERE

Adding jute rugs & baskets helped warm the upper level up!

What do you guys think about this super cozy winter home tour? What type of goods do you like to use to warm up your home during the winter months & are you thinking about spring already like me?? I hope you guys liked this Winter Home Tour!!

Wishing you all a lovely Monday!

{ Rustic Romantic Cottage Style Spring Bedroom Inspiration }

Oh heyyyy Monday!!! Welcome back guys & thanks for dropping back in on the blog..Today I'm popping on here real quick to share something that I do around this time every year- A Spring Bedroom Refresh-. Something about January has me always wanting to spruce up & refresh our bedroom with some calming simple spring touches! This year I did add in some warmer spring throws because let's be honest it's Michigan & will still be chilly until April most likely! I wanted a super romantic cottagey vibe with lots of whites, greens & of course a few neutral vintage/ warm cozy goodies thrown in! I think the reason why I crave a cooler & calmer spring room after Christmas is because Christmas decor is so cozy, but also can be really HEAVY! Spring is all about fresh airy spaces, right?! Anyways I'm sleepy & y'all are probably sick of my rambling at this point haha..Come see what I put together for you guys!

I love the clean white textured bedding paired with some simple pretty greenery & farmhouse style throw pillows! The green plaid throw is pretty much what brings the whole space together & then the  candle holders add that bit of rustic romantic style! I added in the sign because it added that bit of vintage cottage charm & well it kind of just all tied in together! I think I might be painting our room soon & thinking this might be our new room decor & design inspiration..Hint...#staytuned!

P.S. How cute is that "cozy" throw?

What do you guys think about this spring bedroom inspiration? What do you do to spruce up your room for spring etc.. & when do you start decorating for spring?? Leave me some comments below :)!

Wishing you all a lovely Monday!

{ Cottage Style Blue & Tan Check Wintery Dining Room & Decor }

I can't believe it's the middle of the week already..I hope you all are having an amazing week! Today I'm back to share another room on our little "Winter Home Tour" room by room. The dining room is today's post & I'm so excited to share this simple, yet refreshed & cozy cottagey winter space..whoa that was a mouthful ha! I had bought this blue & tan check runner at a local shop { my favorite to be exact } last year on sale & never ended up finding the right time to use it..typical!! Well while I was refreshing our dining space for winter & removing the Christmas I spotted this runner hoarded in my runner drawer { is that even a thing haha }. Again, I looked at it & thought ehh blue not going to work, then threw it down & actually loved it!! It adds that pop of wintery rustic color & something to our simple tablescape of a farmhouse basket, rustic pine, burlap placemats & some vintage dishes piled up! See the full space put together below!!!

I kept it really simple with the black leather parsons..I usually switch the chairs out in the winter to the larger white parsons from +IKEA USA  ,but decided to leave them as is after Christmas this year! I added the faux white fur pillow from +Target  I got for $5!

All of the greenery is from IKEA with the exception of the little rustic pine on the table that is from +HomeGoods !

This cozy little wintery hutch is pretty much my favorite in our kitchen right now! It's simple & filled with the cutest little vintage goods!

The blue & tan check went so well with the vintage crocks & gold edged dishes! Most definitely screams cozy winter decor right?! The runner is from the Dixboro General Store for $10!!

I love how some of the simplest items can warm up any space! Truth be told I love decorating for winter..It's so cozy, rustic & SIMPLE!!! How do you cozy up your home for winter? Any tips are welcome below :)!! Hope you all loved this & gathered some decor inspiration..See ya soon!

Happy Wednesday Y'all!!

{ Industrial, Utility, Modern & Rustic 3 Step DIY Light Fixtures from MICHAELS!!

Hey everyone & happy Tuesday!! I'm currently sitting here at 5am typing with a huge bandaged thumb after I literally took 3 layers of skin off of it with a razor that fell, a tooth that was chipped from chewing gum & if anyone knows me personally reading this you know how freaky I am about my teeth.. Oh & my husband blew a fuse while plugging his dang diesel in haha..Fun night right? Happy 2017 to me?.. Ahhh, but because I loveeeee my job so much & I needed something to get my mind off of things I thought I'd blog the coolest thing I've spotted in a chain store in a longggg time!! Now, I know some of you might say this isn't that "new" but it's new to me & our +Michaels Stores  location, so I'm sharing today!!! Be aware there are no "pretty" pictures, but more of an informative post for you all...& seriously I'm pretty obsessed with this new line they have put out! It's simple, affordable & super trendy for just about any style!

So I was out last Saturday night tooling around with my sister & we happened to pop into Michaels which I haven't shopped in a while..Just as we were heading out I noticed they updated & reconfigured their store so I had to walk down the front isles..Well, as soon as I spotted this new 3 Step DIY Light Fixture collection I grabbed my camera out & had to blog it for you guys!!! When I say this collection is literally an easy 3 step process..it TRULY is!! I love how cute the set was, simple & informative, and affordable/ versatile!!

H o w  T o:

  • Choose your Bulb
  • Choose Cord Color/ Style
  • Pick your Style Light { 4 styles with different sizes to choose from }

The assortment of lights are awesome!! They range from utility/farmhouse style to vintage mason jar styles etc.. !

The cords are super easy peasy & come in either black or white! I believe they are under $15 too with a 15ft cord!

Okay...true story the vintage inspired light bulbs are my most FAVORITE part about this new line!! I love them & the different styles they offer!

**So what do you guys think about this new DIY Light line from +Michaels Stores ? Have you used this line yet or plan to? I think a new dining light is in our near future haha! I hope you guys liked this different kind of post...It's nothing too pretty, but so inspiring & hopefully informative!!

Happy Tuesday!!

{ Farmhouse Style Goods for Every Room of your Home + Ideas }

Hey guys! Today was the day that sadly most of our Christmas decor went away..which was sad because my Christmas crazy self loves everything cozy & cheerful Christmas brings! I did however manage to keep one of our largest trees up in our lower level, because it's super rustic & I just left it bare..I mean pine trees for winter decor check checkkk hahaha! Anyways so as I was putting all the cheery & cozy Christmas decor & pulling out some items I noticed a trend.. Not only was I basically redecorating for Christmas with winter goods , but I also was pulling out all farmhouse & cottage style items{ or treasures as I like to call them} to warm our little suburban cottage back up! I always go for cozy style items, so I thought I'd blog some of my favorites! I put together a bunch of goods that can be used in almost  every room of the house! These items are for the most part neutral & can be found at all your local chains like +HomeGoods  , +Marshalls , & +Michaels Stores !!

I love that "grocery" sign! I actually just helped a friend out with her home & we purchased one of these for her kitchen/dining space! This is where I got the inspiration for this post...Not everyone knows where to purchase these goods or how to cozy up their home in farmhouse or cottage decor so why not blog how/where?!

I hope this list of things was helpful for your farmhouse & cottage style decor! I know people still get a bit confused on where to get these goods, because lets face it this is still a semi newer trend etc.. What do you guys think about these style goods? Do you use any of these items in your home? Where do you get them? Let me know in the comments below!

Wishing you all a lovely Wednesday!
