{ Cottage Style Cozy, Rustic, Floral Easter Porch }

I can't believe I did this you guys...I actually styled our porch for EASTER!!! If you follow me via my social media [ right side bar } you would know that I hardly ever do anything for Easter..spring yes..Easter not so much! This year I thought for sure I wouldn't be doing anything because we've been super busy & just took an 8 day vacation...but you guys know me & I randomly do things haha..This being one of those times! So, right after we got home my mom stopped over quickly & said she had a free thrift find..a WREATH- Umm yes, please!!! I snagged it up & at first was just going to put it in my decor room until I found a spot. I mean let's be honest pink isn't really my thing or brand style, but I always give something a chance & well it worked out perfect because I had some stuff stashed away that was pink from our nieces old room here...One thing lead to another & I styled our whole front porch for freeee & for EASTER!!!! I also HAVE to mention that our real Douglas Fir is still kicking 4 months later..so he will stay until he passes! I have this weird obsession for pine trees & I've had several people tell me they literally can't believe it's still alive.. Come take a peek at this cute little rustic setup below!

We added these free wood planks just before Christmas to hide the old grey stone..It's held up so well through the winter, I'm actually really surprised. The wood slats were free & I'm thinking I will white wash them if we're still here in a few months ;). For now I love the contrast with the bright springy flowers!
Side Note: Our address sign will be hung soon too, I may blog it. So many things got put on hold because our winter has been long & full of snow!

If you haven't read our last post, you should HERE !!! It's all about this sign & why it's so special. It should happen to fit perfectly on Mr. Douglas Fir too haha. I tried tying little pink bows on the tree, but the wind had other plans..

I love how the sign look likes a tag a bit & the pops of dusty florals  brighten up this drab space from Christmas...now if the snow could stop!! P.S. can you believe someone threw that wreath out??

I forgot to shut the front door & I need a new  doormat, but for now & for free I had to share our little spruced up porch! Do you decorate for Easter??

Happy Holiday Weekend!!

{ Sentimental Vintage Treasures from One of our Favorite Places.. }

Happy Friday everyone & welcome back to TQS!! Thanks sooo much for popping back in, as it's been pretty quiet around here & that's not like me...but you guys we took an 8 day road-trip to Florida to visit Mark's grandma { Mama } & Oh my goodness was it the best time!!! It was definitely good for my soul & just being down in the tropical weather with Spark & mama had me so relaxed! Little back story..so the last time we have seen mama was back in 2010.. almost 10 years ago..so this trip was for sure overdue. You see Mark lost is mom tragically when he was 12 years old, so Mama is the closest thing to his mom. We loved spending so much time with her, enjoying  her home & of course Florida in general. While we were visiting we were informed that she is selling her home & moving in with family { she's 92 }, & wanted to gift a few things we liked. It wasn't only good for us but for me in general. When we got back it seemed as though my body hit some kind of reset & seems like I'm in a "remission" of some sorts from my health issues which THRILLS me x10!! It has been super busy since  coming home, but in the BEST way possible! I have major updates on our previous plan to update this house & why..For now come see why these treasures we were gifted while in Florida are some of my absolute favorites!!

One of the "treasures" we brought home from Mama's with us was this vintage train set. At first glance I didn't really know what it was but automatically fell in love with it. Mark  says its been in her china cabinet for as lone as he can remember & always loved the look of it...It's actually a four set shot glass set with the middle part as whiskey holders built in..Neat right? I loved it paired with our rustic corner cabinet goodies..

These black stem wine glasses were also something we brought back with us. I spotted them a long time ago & always had a thing for them. This time while down there I especially took an interest in them because as you know our style has evolved since 2008 in our condo..They fit in even more perfect with out rustic cottage greenhouse decor now & I will definitely use these as we host most holidays!!

The third & final item we brought home with us was this " The Gathering" sign! This is the most significant piece we brought back & we both shed some tears over it!! Since the first time I met Mama { 2008 } & stayed with her, one thing I remember decor wise was this sign on her lanai!!! It's the one thing Mark wanted to take away from another chapter closing ...Mama also disclosed that it was made my Mark's grandpa who has also passed on , so it's double special!!! You'll see this being used in another area very soon!

I hope you guys liked this space with all our new vintage sentimental treasures! If I get all my work done today #fingerscrossed haha, this space may be getting a change sooner than later!! What's your favorite special decor item to decorate with? Let me know down below in the comments!!

Happy Friday!!!

{ 6 Cozy ways to Display Greenery in your Home..Anytime of the Year! }

Happy Thursday,friends!!! I wanted to quickly pop on here and share something that I was thinking about while I was packing the other day..greenery!! It's one of my most used items when styling  a space whether it's in the dead of winter or the middle of the blazing summer. I use greenery in our home all year long & I thought it was about time I shared with you guys the different ways you can display & pot your plants around your home in a few simple & different ways! I like to use flowers & greenery in the coziest of ways to add that cottage/ farmhouse charm,but this post has something for every style because it's all about different ways to use greenery in your home!! Come see these simple ideas below..

**P.S. Don't forget to read what types of greenery/ flowers I use + sources HERE

1. Free standing  Topiaries

The tall topiaries are one of my favorite plants to use around the house! They're tall enough to add height to certain areas & super easy to move & set in other pots like crocks, galvanized buckets etc.. These are from @ikea !

2. Baskets!

This is my favorite way to display flowers. I love the simplicity & the texture mixed with the natural elements of the flowers or if you decide greenery. These long creamy blossoms are from @hobbylobby .

3. Galvanized Buckets

Using thrifty galvanized buckets is another way  I love to display greenery around the house. They're simple, durable & can withstand just about anything & bonus they go with just about anything.

4. Greenhouses!

This one is kind of new to me..I was never really into them until I decided I needed something to use that makes a "statement" so I picked this one up from @ikea  . They're super popular right now & you can find them all over...I'm on the hunt for a vintage metal one, but for now this faux white one does just fine.

Side Note: Plants are  faux.

5. Crocks!

This has been my go- to display for my greenery for years!! We started collecting these vintage crocks over 5 years ago & I just love them! They couldn't be more simple & with the various sizes they can ultimately go anywhere even outside!

6. Wreaths!

Wreaths, I know not groundbreaking or anything but I had to add them because they're that one staple item that can be used in any space to add that " fresh faux green" aspect. They're simple to move, last forever & are fairly inexpensive/  versatile!  This one is from @homegoods

I hope this post gave you some inspiration for this upcoming spring & more. What idea is your favorite or which one do you incorporate in your home the most?

Happy Thursday!!

{ Casual Cozy Cottage Style Easter Tablescape Idea }

Happy Wednesday !!! We've been super busy before we depart for an 8 day tropical style vacay & road trip!! I love me some cozy winter, but I'm sooo ready to snorkel & enjoy the sun with my best friend! I've said this before but I really don't go overboard with holiday decor other than Christmas..With that being said I did decorate the dining room before all the changes start happening after vacay..I just added some simple cozy goodies to the table, new throw pillows to the chairs & restyled the cabinet a bit. Very simple yet soothing..I don't know why I always tend to gravitate towards greys for Easter, but I do. I mean we have a real Easter bunny who might be making his appearance back on my IG soon haha #mrwibbles #ourbunny #officemascot hahah Okay, I'm done hehhe...See how excited I am for all the upcoming goodness going on?! It's lovely to be busy & have things to look forward too!!! Anyways come see this Easter tablescape below!!!

My love of greys & greens during this time continues ha. I hope that doesn't sound depressing because it's totally not..I promise ha! I love these farmhouse cloth napkins, vintage plates, greens & crocks..cozy & warm while still easing into spring!

I also wanted to incorporate this corner cabinet into this post because it will be getting  a new home soon I think..I have a huge idea for this dining room & this cabinet isn't in it..I feel bad because it was my first vintage piece & makeover way back in 2008 I think..Stay tuned!!:)

This is one of my favorite shots to get while photographing this space..I love the cozy vintage feeling & the pantry makeover HERE

I shopped our home for this whole post other than the wood block sign on the table..I know I have some other Easter decor around here somewhere, but for now I'm keeping it simple since after vacay it's time to get to work on the spruce up!!

I hope you guys enjoyed this Easter Spring Cottage table!! I can't wait to blog some of our vacay & vlog it also for you guys...You know with Mark & I it will definitely be comical haha.

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

{ DIY Cottage Style Simple Hot Beverage Station }

Happy  sunny Tuesday! It's been so cold & dreary here these past few days & today after posting on my IG HERE that it was gloomy..the sun decided to come out! As I'm typing this I'm sipping some hot Chai latte which is much needed since it's super cold here in Michigan again...You see where I'm going with this post ha.. As we were driving around{NEW VLOG } this weekend pricing the stuff for our mini spring home revamp { see last post }. With the temps super cold this weekend it dawned on me as we were leaving with our mug full of tea & coffee that I never blogged our little hot beverage station other than once & that was FOREVER ago..I've said it a million times, but I'm not into coffee much more of chai tea , vanilla cappuccinos etc..Mark however is a coffee maniac ha. Come see more of this cute cozy hot beverage station below!!

Our little hot bev station is super simple..I bought this black distressed wood tray from Hobby Lobby about 3 years ago & it's perfect for keeping everything together & easy to move etc..The Keurig stays on it along with the white canister with K-cups. The other small cream & black canisters are filled with hot chocolate, chocolate chips & cinnamon.

Of course I had to decorate this space a little haha..I just added an old white mug, greenery & this vintage honey stick!

Our little mug collection is simple, but just enough for us.  I usually only buy black & white mugs with the exception of a few...Our mugs are all HUGE too haha..no wimpy ones in our house!

These small cream & black chalkboard canisters are from @HomeGoods.

The wall mug holder is an old antique from my grams. When she moved down from her lake house a few years ago she got rid of a bunch of "treasures" & this is one I kept. It's so simple & after our mini spring kitchen spruce up it's for sure going back up...

Side Note: The black & white sign was a thrifting find, and the Ball mason lamp is vintage.

What do you think about our simple little hot beverage station? I call it a station because honestly I don't like the "bar" name because it's just not practical. I see soooo many beautiful coffee bars, but lets be honest if you don't have a water hookup it's super impractical to walk back & forth filling this coffee pot etc..especially when they're not directly by the sink..Pretty, yes..practical- NO!

Happy Tuesday!
