{ How I keep our White Decor Clean with Animals..}

Hey pals..I'm back haha! I took a break because just to be completely honest I've been having a horrible flare up this entire month from my fibromyalgia etc..I've been trying to focus on myself & that means putting everything aside even business stuff, which kills me because I'm a people pleaser, but I have to. With fall & pumpkin season coming to an end{ for me } I'll be busy prepping for Christmas posts & wanted to share this asap!!! Today I'm back after a few days off with something I get asked quite a bit " How do we have so much white decor with animals?"..Well, today I'm here to share some of my secrets, ha just kidding they're just simple things I do around our home to keep things fresh, cozy & bright white!! Come read these simple tips below..

1. P I L L O W S

I use pillows to cozy up our Ikea slipcovered sofa & to keep the back of the cushions from getting dirty, because it's easier to wash the pillows or unzip the throw pillow cover rather than wash the bigger slipcovered cushions! Ikea Sofa Review HERE

2. B L E A C H

This is a given, but I use bleach a lot when washing our whites! It's so easy & cheap to buy a gallon of bleach & throw everything in at once..Even the dog's playroom/lounge has white bedding HERE

*As you can see the dogs are on the white rugs ALL the time & we even have a 7 week old rescue puppy bouncing around on it! So to answer some questions I get, Yes, the dogs are allowed on & around our white decor, walls, rugs, sofa, throws etc.. everyday!

I spy a puppy butt^ ..

3. B L A N K E T S

I use this little trick a lot in our home..I use older white sheets, blankets etc.. to place on the seating of the couch to cover the cushions so again I don't have to wash the entire slipcover but rather just the smaller blankets if accidents happen..

4. W I P E  P A W S

This is something we do just about every time the dogs come inside..We wipe their paws at our back "drop zone"! We keep towels, wipes etc.. in the silver container for easy access in case of mud or even worse...eeek ha!

5. B A R R I E R S

Okay, before I get the mean e-mails rolling in let me explain..Obviously our animals are allowed on the sofa's, rugs & EVERYWHERE in our home but at night we put up "barriers" so they don't get on the sofa. The first reason being the middle pibble " Stew" likes to strip my pillows of the zippers & the oldest girl " Stinker" has a hard time getting down & we don't want her falling accidentally while we're sleeping & the puppy well that's a given reason ha. We use old table legs to lay across the sofa at night & remove during the day. Easy peasy.

6. L I N T   R O L L E R

This one I use more when the seasons change from summer to winter & vise versa here in Michigan when the dogs shed..It's super easy to grab one from Dollar Tree & just swipe it just about anywhere to grab the lose dirt & hair if you don't have a large space to vacuum..I shared more in the Pet Cleaning Post HERE.

Happy Monday!
Anyways I hope you all got some simple & helpful tips from this post!! What are some of the things you do to keep your home clean with animals?! My OCD gets the best of  me sometimes, but I wouldn't trade our tribe of rescues for ANYTHING!

{ Fall Cottage Kitchen Window Decor }

Oh heyyyy there Monday I see & FEEL you haha! What's up pals, thanks for stopping back in! I'm going to keep this super simple since I feel like I'm on "borrowed" time right now...No, not that kind of b o r r o w e d time, the kind that you have to rush because at any moment you'll have to step away from your computer. Why is this you ask? We have a 5 week old rescue puppy with us right now & it's been crazy you guys ha. He's the cutest little baby, & I'll do a post on him soon & fostering him etc.. Today I wanted to QUICKLY share our fall decor in the kitchen window! It  might seem like  a weird place to take pictures & it is, but it's one of my go-to areas to spruce up simply. It always seems to be  a hit on social media too, which again, is weird since it's the kitchen sink/window..Maybe because it's not a common place to decorate but here I am doing it ha...typical. Okay, come take a closer look at this fresh little fall area...I hope you love it!

I know ferns are more summer, but I couldn't help but keep this mini Lemon Button Fern up! It's grown so much & I'm pretty proud haha. I decided to add more green with some apples & of course white pumpkins!

All different style white pumpkins- YES PLEASE!! K kept this area super simple, but still cozy for fall. Things we use every day & then some a cute decorative candle, plant pitch, coffee cups & a DIY wood sign..

I'm so in love with the whole house white wash, but specifically this area. Bright & clean with ferns...Cottage goodness!

I debated on doing a post on this #diy sign...I wanted it to look old, worn & like it was located on a side of the road..It was the simplest sign, maybe I post. The white & gold stem pumpkins are from Target for $3.

Okay I have to run..literally upstairs because the baby puppy is SCREAMING! I hope you guys liked this post!! Post on our new baby soon. Off I go!

Happy Monday!

{ Fall in Northern Michigan with Us! }

Fridayyyyy you're here! Hey pals & welcome back to the blog!! So occasionally I like to do what I call "filler " posts..other bloggers do them too in the form off shopping or affiliate linked items, but I like to of course go against the norm & share these type of filler posts in the sense of being raw & just what we're up too..No sponsorships, affiliates etc.. just US! I'm sorry if these types of posT are boring to you, but I like to add in our real life occasionally & today was the perfect time. I'm working on a little post  that will be published soon, but it's dark out today, my tripod is giving me issues & so I thought let's share our Northern Michigan getaway with you all! So all last week I wasn't feeling so hot. I've mentioned this before but I tend to have kidney issues { nothing major } but stones, irritation etc.. Well, last week I had a UTI & just wasn't myself. Mark suggested we pack up & head north to the cottage & at first I was hesitant because it's 4 hours away & I knew the ride would be uncomfortable...I'm glad I  listened to him, because it was the funniest most relaxing time in awhile!! We didn't do anything crazy but just soaked in the quiet towns, shopped, ate & enjoyed being away from everything, even the pups { sorry guys hahaha}. Anyways come see the highlights from our little weekend trip & tiny VLOG -HERE

We pulled over after looking at cute cottages in Downtown Frankfort! Frankfort for me is everything special & then some. I don't know what it is about that little town but it will have my heart forever. It's quaint, has yummy food, awesome antiquing shops & just beautiful views without being too commercialized. Needless to say we're not super big fans of Traverse City..

Frankfort, MI
-2018-

We know old friends  that live locally in the T.C. area, so I asked her what was the best little country cider mill & Gallagher's in T.C. was the answer! She was so right, it was the cutest little farm market & bakery with the most adorable farmhouse, piggies & scenery! Thanks Sidney!

I hate heights & behind me was a huge drop-off to the beach..I took one look & well here's me scrambling to get away from the edge haha! Thanks Spark..ha

Although it was a chilly day, the water looked gorgeous & the trees were just starting to change! I wanted to bottle this little area up & bring it home forever!

Okay, HIGHLIGHT of our little weekend trip! You guyssss these piggies were the most ADORABLE characters at this farm ever! I was talking to them & the little black one got all excited & started "rooting" & jumping around hahaha! The smell was enough to knock somebody out, but them enjoying the pumpkins in their pen while oinking was the cutest! My little vegetarian hippie loving heart was happy!
*See them live on our mini VLOG  HERE

We explored quite a few antique shops while up there, even an old mill { super nifty }..this was the cutest & I'm regretting not buying the hanging farm scale for $50!! Ahh I could pinch myself for not snatching that up grrr! I did find some cute treasures though & I blogged all about them HERE.

Our cottage is surrounded by Christmas tree farms..& if you know me or have been following the blog for sometime you would know that I'm literally obsessed with pine trees & Christmas..I told Mark I wanted to " Clark W. Griswold" it & bring home one of these massive beauties hahaha..Don't tempt me!

I hope you weren't too bored with this kind of post from us!! I like to keep you guys in our personal life as much as possible without being too crazy ha. This little cottage peeking, junkin, food binging trip was just what we needed to reset. Fall truly is magical in Michigan & I'm thankful for Mark & this season!

Happy Friday!

{ Cottage Style Vintage Mill Picture Vignette }

Hey pals happy Monday & October!! Monday's aren't always my favorite but since it's the first of October it isn't so bad, right?! If you follow me via my social media outlets you know that I haven't been feeling well { uti } & Mark was going for some tests..I wasn't in the mood to travel, but Mark worked his magic & perked me up & we ended  up north at the cottage enjoying our 9th anniversary with a mini getaway... While I  was up there I  picked up two of the cutest mill pictures & the rest is history haha JK! So, the vintage mill look is something I'm super drawn to in my styling..Mill/harvest/cozy if you will! I loved the wood frames these were in & how simple but cozy they were. We got in late on Sunday & I literally ran in threw our bags down & grabbed a hammer haha..I mean if you know me, you know this isn't out of the norm for me haha! I through this little cozy cabinet vignette together & I wanted to share with you guys....Come take a peek below!

These little pictures are so charming! The simplistic look are what drew them to me! They fit this space that I had bare since our summer decor & now have these cuties hanging on this large wall in the upper living room! I thought about painting them white, but I actually love the wood frame especially for fall!

You guys know I had to add some pumpkins since it's October 1st! I mean who am I kidding I've had pumpkins out since September 1st haha! I love these simple white faux ones from Michaels! They're super light, affordable & versatile!

I finally got around the cleaning out that chippy cottage cabinet too, or at least a little! I have a ways to go with filling the shelves with some new collections, but for now they're holding mason jars, buckets & frames..basically all collections of anything ha!

I hope you guys likes this simple fall vignette! I'm pretty obsessed with these little treasures..I'm sure they'll be making an appearance around our house in the next weeks to come ha!

Happy Monday!
