{ Target Haul & Dining Room Corner Refresh }

Who is ready for the WEEKEND?! I know you all are probably just as much as me haha. It's supposed to be gorgeous weather here in Michigan, so you know I'm taking advantage of that & by that I mean my WHOLE weekend is packed with markets galore ha..Yep, I'm serious! Sometimes I can't always make time for vintage markets etc..so I look for items that resemble cozy cottage or vintage charm & for summer I look for cute garden or greenhouse goods. A few weeks back I mentioned via my stories on Instagram HERE that I did a little mini haul at Target. To be honest I haven't shopped Target in a while since most of their lines I'm not a fan of recently...which is great for my bank account haha. When my sister & I happened to be out on a late night slurpee run we decided to stop in & oh my...I spotted things right away & decided to treat myself for being so good at Target lately... These things inspired me to redo our dining room a little bit, oh & something else not so "pretty"..eeek...Come read the rest of the story & see the after below!!

The things I picked from Target are these two indoor/outdoor garden pillows, the mini burlap lamp & the Hearth & Hand apron!  I got all of this for under $65 & you guys know I like to buy items I can use all over the house...neutral goodness!

I should mention I downsized our table too & added a new rug! I was so over the jute rug { see my review HERE } but was too cheap to pull the trigger on getting a new one until that bright sunny day that our elderly dog decided to vomit it alllll up..THANK YOU, Stinker girl haha. I wrapped that bad boy up & trashed it ha! I found this neutral bright one for under $50 & LOVE how it brightens the space, no shedding & it's SOFT! Win!!!

These pillows caught my eye right away!! They were only $30 for both & are already treated for outdoor use...which I love because I use my stuff for years over & over. They also added that cozy garden greenhouse cottage feel I love so much in our home.

The apron from Hearth & Hand also caught my interest! I needed something for this wall that had green, was cottage/farmhouse style & something I love...APRONS duhh ha. I collect them & this one had everything I was looking for & added more summery vibes. I also loved that I didn't have to change out this whole wall..The apron was $17.

I know this space will change  a few times before summer is over, but I'm loving the extra seating space on the bench & the bright cheery feel with all the plants etc..

Question:Should I paint the bench white or leave it green? Let me know in the comments below...!!!

What do you guys think about this updated space? Do you love the new cozy corner in the dining room as much as we do?!  Have you done any sprucing up for summer?

Happy Weekend!!

{ Vintage Wood Hamper Side Table }

Happy Tuesday, pals!! So I've noticed I've been blogging more on the weekends which isn't true to my regular schedule, but I'm kind of liking it actually. I wanted to share today's post today { Saturday writing this up.. } because I thought with the warmer temps that more of you will be out junking & picking...So little back story, last weekend we attended the Finders Keepers Vintage Market HERE & I spotted the cutest vintage wood hamper!! It just so happen to have my most favorite color too..CHIPPY GREEN! I knew when I seen it that it was coming home with us & we got it for a STEAL- $40!!! You don't see many like this anymore & it's something vintage we don't have in our stock pile { I promise we're not hoarders } haha. We got home and for two days it say in our entryway & then it popped in my head to set it next to our antique chair in the upper living room that was looking pretty bare...I set it there & bam instant home ha. It makes the cutest side table & adds so much chippy texture to the space for summer!! Come see more below..

The texture on this hamper is a true love. I'm obsessed with the weaving & natural wear + tear on it. The distress hits all the right spots & it's chippy vintage green..another love ha! Since our whole upper level is garden, cottage vintage greenhouse I styled it with some garden-ish items I had..

The mix of the garden pillows weathered wood & decor have me soo excited for the start of summer. I mean Michigan played a crazy joke on us & jumped seasons, but I'm pretty sure the hot weather is here to stay...Yes, we have our air on already eek!!

I hope you likes this fun little thrifty vintage find & how I used it on a different way. It seriously makes the perfect little side table & adds so much charm! What do you think of this little conversion?

Happy Tuesday!

{ Happy Memorial Day from our Cottage Porch! }

Hey pals- Happy MEMORIAL D A Y! I had something totally different planned for today's post, but I couldn't let any patriotic holiday slide bye, especially Memorial Day. I didn't have anything lined up in means of a "decor" type post but then I was outside & decided to spruce our porch up for Memorial Day weekend! To be honest it's been one of the most relaxing weekends...We usually go big for the patriotic occasions but decided to lay low this year at home doing projects & eating veggie kabobs. First, we're SO thankful & extend our gratitude for those who gave their life so we can have freedom & be able to enjoy weekends like these. Second, we also extend our heartsđź’“ to those suffering or grieving a loss of a loved one today..you are recognized!! Come see the rest of this quick little patriotic porch below..

Little fun fact about me...I love anything patriotic.I have the most respect for our men & women in uniform. I mentioned via Instagram it was a day of pom pom pajamas, lollipops & messy buns...Pretty much sums up my day!

I love that I could incorporate this huge wood angel into our Memorial porch this year. It holds special meaning to me & fits so well with the day..
**The "post" basket is from HomeGoods, flowers are from Hobby Lobby & flags from Walmart.
P.s. the vintage wood angel was an antique find.

Like I said above I wasn't going to do anything with our porch this year, but while out grocery shopping for our mini Memorial Day dinner I spotted these outdoor pillows for $5 each..Umm, YES please!!

I think for 15 minutes & $15 in new things it turned out pretty cute. Oh & I spyyyyyy FERNS!! HAHAH I swear it's the attack or should I say revenge of the Ferns!! My sister & I pulled them all out last summer & voila they're backkkkkkk HA! I mean they do look cute & they're a nice filler....I guess!

Happy Monday!

{ DIY Cottage Kitchen Wallpaper Backsplash by Hearth & Hand! }

Eekk I'm so excited to share this fun little DIY with you guys!!! So if you've been reading the blog for a while or at least since a few months ago, you would know we have been sprucing this little suburban cottage of ours up while looking for another small farm style home. I mentioned in this post HERE our plans for our spruce up...Well, if you know me, you know I love switching things up & I usually change my mind last minute...Yup, you see where I'm going with this right?! I SWITCHED my mind last minute. I decided against bead board or just plain white..at least for now!! I just felt it was too popular & plain.I actually didn't have another plan, but then out shopping with Mark on a date night last weekend we spotted this Hearth & Hand Fern wallpaper & I had to have it!  The weird thing? I actually DON'T like Ferns hahaha...but loved this?! I should have prefaced this post with the irony will be out of control in this post hahah. Anyways keep reading below for more deets etc..

One thing we liked the most was that the wallpaper was pretty nice quality & came with easy instructions. Though it's not "peel & stick" it is pre-pasted & was pretty thick for the price. Speaking of price it was only $40 for a double 56sqft roll. We only bought one & have TONS left over..Another DIY in the works..possibly!

What we did:

{ progress picture, excuse the quality }
  • We followed the instructions on the card the roll came with. We used a bit more water than suggested though. We also didn't cut other than corners etc.. We used one big piece each time for a seamless look.
  • Make sure you smooth all air bubbles as you work to the opposite end.
  • Start pasting from the bottom up, so when you cut the excess it's at the top in case you make an error it's less visible. Use a razor blade for crisp cuts.
  • Make outlet cuts etc..after paper is up. { our preference }
  • This is a TWO person DIY!

Side Note: We are NOT professional wallpaper hangers.

I mentioned via my Instagram that I spotted this little guy in Meijer & didn't even know it was a Fern..You guysss the Ferns are coming for me hahaha & after I ripped all ours out..Maybe I'm having a change of heart?! This little Fern is called a "Lemon Button Fern". I think he was well worth the $11 hehe.

I love how the wallpaper gave such a clean fresh cottagey look! The gray paint was just getting so old & dreary..I love that this is so easy to remove to without messing your walls up { for resale }. The butter dish is from @homegoods & the chippy chicken wire basket is an antique find!

Green has always been my favorite color & this wallpaper basically had all the things I love. I mean greenery, white & cozy cottage + affordable..YES!!

I hope you guys liked this simple little DIY. A few of you have already messaged me that you are trying to recreate with this wallpaper, which makes me SOO happy!! Make sure you tag/follow me on my Instagram HERE if you do!!

Happiest weekend, pals!

{ Finders Keepers Vintage Market HIGHLIGHTS! }

Ahhhh you guys what an amazing way to end the weekend!!! We decided to head out to Chelsea, MI on Sunday for some junkin, pickin' & of course food!!! We've been to many vintage markets in different areas & this one was definitely one of our favs!! Everything from the parking, building, grounds, & food were amazing not to mention the BEST part- treasures galore hahaa! I'll be blogging what we got from there soon, but wanted to take today to show you guys some of the grounds, goodies & awesome vendors!! We loved how organized everything was, the barns were awesome, the easy access, the items being sold & the people were great!!!! Come take a peek at some of our little trip junkin!!

Sometimes I think this one likes junkin more than I do haha! We loves his vintage coolers, license plates & beer mirrors!

I wish I would have got a good shot of all the barns with the names on them...they were so fun!! These pop up truck boutiques are the cutest things ever & always grab my attention haha.

One of the nicest Vendors I've ever met! She was the last booth in the "livestock" barn & I had to stop. Her booth was the least filled but something told me to stop in & boy am I glad we did!!! Sometimes it's the ones you think that aren't for you that actually have the BEST items. Her booth was the one & only one I bought from. ** I'll be doing a whole blog post on the item, but if you want a sneak peek head to my Instagram!!

Markie had to have his coffee & it was soo good, I even had a sip! I mean look at this little vintage rustic coffee camper?! ADORABLE!!

So many treasures...I'm glad we had a set amount of cash on us hahah..I wanted everything is this booth for my favorite porch decor season- 4th of July!!

I hope you guys liked this little peek into our weekend!! I wanted to vlog for you guys but honestly it was sooo busy, we were enjoying each other & I have a huge spider bite on my face..hence the hat hahahaha! Have you ever been to the Finders Keepers Vintage Market ??

Happy Wednesday, pals!
