{ Vintage Country Christmas Kitchen Window }

So, there's  one area in our home that I always LOVE to decorate  for Christmas...well every season  for that matter! Our KITCHEN WINDOW!! I know, kind of an odd spot but it's  just sooo comfy & nostalgic that I love photographing this area! It adds so much charm, {especially  with the new gridded  French style now} to our little  cottage  kitchen. Not only that, but I mean some cute  cozy  decor is always nice while doing dishes right?! Ha. Well, I'm  going to keep this simple my pals...I'm  super tired { busiest time in blogland}. Hope you enjoy this nostalgic Christmas window..I know it brightens  my mood!

The nostalgic  country kitchen feel with these warm Christmas lights sets the ultimate feel! I love popping them on when it gets dark early here now. Lighs a maple blueberry  candle & literally don't  want to leave  home...

At first I was a bit stumped on what I wanted to do with this kitchen window  ledge this year..Then I remembered I picked these antique tree cake pans up at a  barn sale a few years back.. They fit perfect & flow nicely  with this years Christmas dining  room look..STAY TUNED, so excited!!

The only thing that really  changed the look of this window was the new gridded window!! It coordinates with our front door & windows now plus gridded French style windows are the MOST charming!!

This antique  space rack is one of my ultimate ever favorite  finds..I'll  never let it go ha. Enamel vintage  tin for soaps,  mini lamp, garland  & voila! SIMPLE, AFFORDABLE & COMFY!

I hope you all loved this ADORABLE Christmas window! It was super easy to execute with some thrifty treasures! TRY IT & let me know or send me a picture HERE: Quaint.sanctionhome@gmail.com  to be FEATURED!

{ Vintage Christmas Village House Bedroom }

Being blasted so early with snow has given me all the holiday feels!! Nostalgic  is  basically  my going theme for this Christmas! The last few Christmas seasons I've  wanted to pull these vintage Christmas  village houses out, but couldn't  find the right spot!! Well this year we cozied our room up with a much needed  fireplace & I decided to do a comfy little  village scene!! Mark collected tons of these over the year's  for me, so they have sentimental meaning. Many were thrifty free finds & others super old antique  collectibles! I love the quaint quintessential vibe they give off at Christmas  especially  in our little  cottage  bedroom! Today I'm  sharing  it with you all...

The warm glow with the houses lit up is so calming especially at nighttime! It reminds me of my childhood..Christmas  was always extra special no matter how big or small. Traditions are something to cherish..ESPECIALLY  Christmas  in my opinion!

Some of the houses are just freestanding non lit ones, others are way larger with great detail & a few bulbs! I scattered them on our nightstand, fireplace mantel & in our end of the bed pillow  basket!

Though our room isn't  huge like our last,  it's  still soo comfy & the added fireplace  was sooo needed on our freezing Michigan  nights! This room gets especially  cold, so the fireplace  takes  the chill out or just when we're  sipping tea or hot chocolate  on the weekends....the pups UNFORTUNATELY  love it too ha!

So here was my going inspiration for this space,  you know other than having a TON of these houses saved up in my Christmas  closet for years!!!!

The Christmas  houses are so detailed  that I kept  everything  else so simple!! Lots of vintage  treasures, plain lit garlands & woods mixed in!

Do you collect these Christmas  village  houses? Which kinds are your favorite? Let me know what kind of themes fir Christmas  you're  doing this year!

{ Our Snowy Winter Wonderland Barn Garage }

Happy Monday!! Guess what pals? IT SNOWED in Michigan  today!! Not just a little slushy  wet dusting but like a huge amount & it's  still going! Thankfully  the Jeep  made it to the gas station just in time to fuel up & head to Target for a few  essentials, so we can cozy in tonight!! Little  fact about me: I'm  a PREPARER ha! Always want to / like to be prepared! Today, I guess I missed that tidbit! Anyways after Jeepin' around in the snow & lugging a bunch of stuff into the house I looked out one of our back doors & it was so peaceful  I had to share a few glimpses  of our first snow of the season! Come see some cozy Christmas  snowy magic below...

So I should backup  a minute & explain this decor..Nope didn't  go out & style  this today..Although  I did look like a crazy outside  photographing this haha..I had set a few things out here messing around  a few weekends ago while digging our vintage  bulbs out of storage in our barn garage! The fresh blanket  of thick white snow made it look that much more charming though!
These are all antique  / vintage finds minus the door decor, which was a DIY !

In one part of our home this year we went all "Home Alone" with vintage traditional  cabin look! Basically  Kevin's  attic hahaha... { coming soon to the blog} Well this green pot screamed vintage  Christmas! I'll  be adding  more berries around  the property  & porch  soon!

I just love the red wood paired with the snow covered holly berries & chippy finds!..Who says you can't decorate outside??

This fence is getting  a facelift  soon...sure the doggies will love that ha...{ insert grumpy face}.

Is it snowing  where you're  at? Do you love the snow?? I actually  do, the only thing I dislike  is slipping...I'm  a clutz ha!

CHEERS TO MONDAY!

{ DIY Cinnamon Stick Ornaments & Potpourri }

Happy Sunday + Monday pals!! Man this weekend  was BUSY, but in the best way!! We added  Christmas  goodness to just about every  inch of our little  cottage with the exception  of the front porch..but the barn garage  ha. I just couldn't  help myself! We also unfortunately  lost our very first rescue  from 2007 too..she was the best dog.. My mom & dad will surely  miss her { she lived with  them}. After destroying the house Saturday with everything comfy Christmas I used all Sunday  to clean & wash everything! I  decided to make some DIY cinnamon stick ornaments + potpourri  bundles while in the process & wanted to share!!

DIY ORNAMENTS + POTPOURRI

Supplies:
  • Ribbon { your choice} I used leftover pillow cloth ribbon.
  •  Dollar Tree Cinnamon  Sticks
  • Tags { optional}
  • Ornament hooks { optional}
  • Decor to decorate bundles

Assembly:

Simply gather a bunch of sticks & wrap your ribbon around. I typically  wrap twice for a thicker cozier look. After that you can just tie a simple bow. Set them around the house or on branches  in your Christmas  trees etc...
•• If you're  making them into ornaments,  just add Dollar Tree hooks & stick greenery or berries in the ribbon for a fancier look! SUPER SIMPLE, AFFORDABLE & FESTIVE!

- Total Cost: Under $5 -

When I purchased 4 little  bags of these at Dollar Tree I didn't  expect  them to be that fragrant,  but boy was I WRONG! So yummy & fresh & for $1 a bag..You get about 7 sticks per bag.

***Little tip, keep all your cloth ribbon that pillows come gathered in the store..The double packs especially!!

You could add any tags you wanted, I had chalkboard  tags laying around! You could do berries, stems, snowflakes etc..

I loved how they looked on our mantel & tree!! I'm  waiting  on a few things from Etsy then I'll  be blogging this years theme in both living rooms & the dining  etc..Super simple & delish this year..stumped? Hehe!!
Anyways I hope you looked these two simple DIY's!! Do you love cinnamon? I'm  pretty much obsessed!!

          Wishing you all a lovely Monday!

{ Classic Thanksgiving Tablescape}

This whole year has been really rough. When I say rough, I mean hard. Very hard both physically  & emotionally.  It started last Thanksgiving when I got violently  ill at our yearly  hosted Thanksgiving  dinner....
Anyways  let's back up ha, so each year I usually  skip a Thanksgiving  tablescape  because 1. I'm  pescatarian &  2. I don't think turkeys  are very appealing to decorate with. Well, I  vowed  to get stronger this year both for myself  & my business ,and although  it's  been hard I'm trying ...Back to this business  part, I've  been stepping  wayyy out of my comfort  zone recently  & even blogged a bunch of Halloween  posts  which I  never do but did!!! So this year before fastfowarding to Christmas I made time for a fabulous  Thanksgiving  Tablescape & I'm sharing today...eeek!!!!!

I have to be honest with you guys...I had no intentions of doing a Thanksgiving tablescape until I spotted this beautiful  orangey red garland @Michaels !! All their fall collections were on sale 70% making these garlands only $6 & some change!! I snagged two up & knew exactly  what I wanted to use them for!!

I wanted a comfy  rustic cottage  look with tons of wood, oranges & textures mixed with a little  whimsical like the informal  vintage plaid dishes, gold silverware for warmth & lots of crisp whites!

• Side Note: I bought 4 of these masons at Michael's as well on clearance!! They light up too.

Little  fact about me, I have next to nothing as far as Thanksgiving  decor goes, BUT I  did have this turkey randomly in my cupboard haha...I'm  not sure where he came from but HALLELUJAH!! He fit perfect in my new pie dish & I added some cotton stems to him!!

I'm  so glad I went on a shopping spree & bought all new cooking casseroles & dishes..The wood, white & traditional  orange go so well for this Thanksgiving  look!

I've  been having so much fun playing  around with this  table..I've  never had a rustic wood top..Always  white orange different material..I love how everything  looks against  this 40+ year old tabletop! The dark black throw/ runner even paired nicely.  The faint orange lines pair nicely  with the garland.

Do you host Thanksgiving? We do every year, so I'm  super excited to show off this new table & little  tablescape...seeing as it's  pretty much Christmas  in here bu Thanksgiving  usually  haha! Learn to slow my roll .

Happy Monday!

{ Inviting Fall Fireplace Sitting Area }

Thursday's are my busy days typically  & today is no different!! I have errands,  doctor appointment, laundry, blog  obligations & little  things in between! I had a lot going on today & instead  of twiddling  my fingers sore in anxiety, I decided on a whim to freshen up our living room  fireplace  mantel. I wanted a vibrant  classic warm sitting area  with bold punches of color & vintage  items..again, New England  style if you will!!! I grabbed a few of my favorite  things & cozied  of this fireplace  sitting  area...Come read more below!!

I love the bright vintage  green with the burnt oranges,  reds & yellow tones!! The white backdrop  of the paint make everything pop!! I added vintage books for warmth & the gold leaf  writing on them added charm as well.

I love this magazine  baskets from @homegoods ! It's  the perfect  size, texture  & look!!

I added the numbers for that effortlessly  vintage  cottage  feel, with a hint of whimsy  whimsical  vibes!!

The middle pillow is from • Pottery  Barn• & reads: You can have it all

What do you think of this cozy  classic fall fireplace  look?

Happy Thursday!
