{ DIY Thrifty Berry Christmas Wreath }

So every Christmas  season  I try incorporate at least two simple, cozy & festive DIY projects that anyone can make for their home. No power tools, big budget or help needed. Well, today I'm  super excited to share the MOST simple double ribboned Christmas  berry wreath!! I needed a wreath for our front door to coordinate with our 2019 Christmas porch { Coming Soon } , so I made one for $6...Yup, 6 dollars!!!
•Come read & WATCH the tutorial below...

S U P P L I E S:

  • Wreath { any kind} I used Boxwood
  • Berries { $6 pack from Target }
  • Two kinds of ribbon
  • Small zip tie

STEP 1
I picked up these this $6 bag of berry clippings at Target. The wreath I already had, you could even use a thrift store or one you have!

STEP 2
Take the berries out of the bag & put in the middle of the wreath for easy access.

STEP 3
Start at the bottom middle  of the wreath & work your way up on one side about half way, then do the same on the other side staggering them. Make sure the berry stems are tucked into the wreath securely into the twine or thick part of the wreath { super simple}. No scissors, glue etc... needed!

STEP 4
Once the berries are all placed & secured, it's time for the ribbon!! I used two different shades of green ribbon I had leftover from decorative pillow packaging sets! Simply tie a bow with each, layer them & attach with a small zip tie { or bread tie}.

Place the bows on top of each other & slip the zip tie through the middle of each bow into the twine. Adjust ribbon to cover zip tie if necessary.  A bread tie can be used on the back to secure even more.

VOILA, A BEAUTIFUL  CHRISTMAS WREATH using things around the house- HASSLE FREE!♡

{ Vintage Christmas Coffee Table }

Happy Sunday, pals & welcome back to TQS! So back in September when we went on our week long 10 year anniversary trip we did a lot of antiquing in northern  Michigan!! We left the cottage for two days & went even farther north up by Petoskey to Carp Lake, MI to visit my aunt! While visiting we drove the Petoskey coast & stopped at a bunch of little country antique dealers..I ended up randomly finding this old chippy table in a tent sale in town...for a whopping $20!!! You know I snatched it up ha. The character, look & size were perfect for our upstairs living room. Well, like usual I forgot to blog it, so today I am sharing it fir Christmas in all of it charm!! Come see the full reveal below..

I wanted to keep with the rustic dainty vintage  Christmas look, so I just added a little mini tree, wood stocking ornaments & simple "Merry Christmas " ribbon!!

It's  a smaller table, which works out great for us, especially with the dogs running around constantly.  I love the white oval top & chippy brown legs..the character oozes from this little table!

I layered it to add a bit more depth & height with this wood cubby, & leather tray! Few rustic decor goods { almond candle,  vintage wood tobacco pipes, matches & a pottery plate..}

The details...so cozy. I think this is about the only piece of furniture I didn't have to paint..Out of all of the pieces we've had!!

The browns, whites & creams with touches rustic whimsical flare are pretty much my going theme upstairs ...I can't  wait to share downstairs-SOON!!

Did you guys like this cozy little thrifty coffee table? Sometimes the thriftyiest pieces entail the most charm with minimal effort & this little coffee table is just that!

{ DIY Christmas North Pole Santa Mudroom }

This is the first year that we have a little  mudroom  in our home. We do have an actual  entry & step-up with a closet..but that closet wasn't  being used to it's  full potential.  It was dark & frankly closed off the rest of the entry & we basically  just shoved stuff in there & closed it ha. A few months ago I got fed up of wasting a deep  entry closet that could have way more use!! We painted it white, added a leather bench with storage, bins & removed the outdated bifold door. Now it's  open, useful, lighter & we can actually  walk- in & sit down to put winter gear on..& kick shoes off so they aren't  in the actual entry. Not massive  but sooo cute & functional.  WELL, today I'm  sharing how I styled  it for Christmas!!!!!!!! I usually  just styled  the entryway wall, but now since we actually  have a little  mudroom... it was a must plus it was fun!!!! Come see the full festive little  mudroom below.....

I had a vague idea of what I wanted this bright & cheerful Santa mudroom closet to look like! I wanted it to feel like the jolly ole guy just got in from his workshop...His jackets hanging up, suspenders & big black boots!!

The sign was a random  find at HomeGoods . It was the only one hid on a back shelf.  It caught my eye because it had "post office" on it & I  wanted to incorporate that in this little  mudroom closet!! My love for stationary runs deep  HERE so I wanted to incorporate " letters to Santa "  with cards, post office goods etc..  Santa's entryway & mail station if you will ha.

The Santa suit is Mark's. You could say we're  both Christmas  crazy haha. It was gifted to him & is super nice in quality  as well. He's  played Santa for our niece & now our other 3yr old niece sooon..along with vintage bells { I'll  be ringing} ha. It was the perfect addition to Santa's North Pole Mudroom!

I picked up 4 things for this space, red boot planter, gift boxes, sign & mini ski pillow..The gift boxes are for actual gifts to family though, that I just incorporated. $30 & voila!

Have you sent your letter out to Santa yet? 😁.

I hope you loved this cozy bright post. I know I usually  go neutral but I had to show this cheery holiday little  DIY mudroom!!

{ Cottage Christmas Gingerbread Dining Room }

Tuesday  already? Geesh these weeks are just  flying  by & that kind of upsets me...This is the best time of the year because it's  so cozy, loving & magical! I  get that the holiday's  aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I'm  on a mission each year to warm everyones heart...whether  it's  because you're  lonely,  sad, financially  struggling,  sick etc..I mentioned in yesterday's post HERE that I went super simple with Christmas  decor & more easily to transition  into winter decor because let's  face it Michigan  winters are LONG! Today I'm  sharing the comfiest warmest cottage gingerbread dining room!!! In the 7 years of blogging this simple cozy gingerbread dining  room is my favorite! It's  so cohesive, comfy & warm..Like  making fresh gingerbread with your gram ha. Come see the full look below...

** WARNING: Super picture  heavy post....just the way y'all  like it haha!

It all started with this chunky wood gingerbread sign I found on Etsy...I loved the authentic wood, green & brown. Our dining  rug is forest green & I liked the cohesive feel it added.

I kept the cabinet super simple with antique cream & tan plaid plates, white dishes & lots of mason jars..I wanted the eye to be on the cozy grids & actual furniture  piece...This piece might be moving soon..😉.

I picked up these neutral  gingerbread men from Dollar Tree & they fit perfect. I didn't  want an overpowering amount of layers this year as in decor..You wouldn't  believe how hard it is to find neutral gingerbread goods...

Along with the sign, I ordered this gingerbread banner off of Etsy!! I'll  be honest, I don't  order much off of Etsy, because, well it's  pricey.

This dining room is sooo comfy , festive  but also very simple. We enjoy many dinners in here, dogs  tipping chairs & all ha.
• I'll  be blogging the downstairs  dining  room soon!!

If you can't  tell, I have an obsession with french cottagey gridded windows..everything in our little  cottage is gridded...even our vintage pantry door. It just adds so much  charm.

  DIY coming soon!

I wish I could have you all over for a huge charcuterie board feast, laughs & desserts!!

I incorporated my great grandpa's rolling pins into the tablescape...old with the new is KEY  for cozy decorating!
- Fun fact, my papa used to own a restaurant...boy do I wish he was still here & his restaurant!

I hope you enjoyed this comfy holiday baking look! Simple, fresh & attainable...my go to motto in decorating.

HAPPY TUESDAY!
