{ Fresh Fall Decor }

 Hey my pals- welcome back to TQS! I've been saying "welcome back" quite a bit here on the blog, and I'm so sorry about that! If you haven't noticed my life this past year has been super chaotic....I got divorced & then my ex- husband passed away the day after my 35th birthday suddenly! It's been very sad, but one thing that always helps me is decorating & giving my home a refresh for the season. Come gather some fresh fall inspiration below...

These were all just quick shots. I'm sorry I didn't get any up close shots or pinpoints, and yes, I have bowls soaking haha!
•• more fall autumn posts coming soon!!

I haven't changed hardly anything out in the dining room in a bit, but with fall garage cleanup, I found some new pieces to swap out soon! Bold, traditional & festive fall/ Halloween 🎃 decor in here!

The 'pumpkin pie framed recipe ' is from Frankfort, MI a few years back at a local antique shop! Some fun mini jack-o-lantern pumpkins & fall foliage to complete this space.

In the living room I just added neutral touches & some New England spooky touches.  I love the black cat & rustic witch sign!

This was the most spur of the moment mantel look & honestly I love the creamy ,but spooky Halloween vibe!

I hope you're all well! Thanks for sticking around with me on this new journey 😊.

{ Free Summer Outdoor DIY }

WELCOME BACK!!!!

I'm so sorry I went mia for nearly 8 weeks! As many of you know I went through a tough divorce { 15 years } these last few months & I just needed to tie up some loose ends before returning to social media. Thank you for sticking with me these 9 years.. Anyways I'm back & I have a super cute summer DIY to share with you all!!! Keep reading below for the super thrifty + simple DIY!!!

•TOOLS:

  • Soil
  • Teacups
  • Flowers
  • Small Shovel

These little teacup flower pots are nearly the easiest but cutest little diy for the summer!! I needed something for this quaint area on my front porch...My mom seen these little teacups in the dining room & well here we are! Now, I'll preface this by saying you shouldn't use expensive teacups for this  project, or in my opinion I would not! You can find cheap or free ones at your local thrift or garage sale. These were free from a local sale!!

• DIY

  • Pick your plant or flower first  & set in teacup!
  • Fill the teacup 3/4 the way up with soil { I used dirt from the garden } loosely pack around flower & water lightly! Easy as that! They add so much charm & can effortlessly  be moved!!

I spruced up this space with a green striped tea towel & accessories! I love the antique gold rim with the fresh summer greenery!

It's fresh, summery & simple!! I also should add I'm a big advocate for mixing metals!!

I hope you enjoyed this cute thrifty diy!! I'm thinking I want some more of these in some cute other teacups!!

{ Easter Dining Corner }

 Well, I guess it's better late than never....That's my going motto these days! Feels like it's been forever that I've been on here , since I'm usually posting several times a week!! I've been so busy around here & honestly I'm in limbo right now, so things have been a bit different around these parts!! I wanted to post at least one Easter post before Easter Sunday, so what better timing than posting the day before Easter!! I picked up some things from Target last weekend & thought I'd share them in a quick post! Most the things are from the dollar spot, so it was easy peasy! I honestly don't have much Easter decor, but I love bunny decor a year-round, so it just incorporates into my decor effortlessly! Come see this comfy corner I'm my dining room below...

A few of the things I picked up at Target were these green mason jars, carrot pillow, faux jadeite glass candle & I just mixed in some other Easter-ish goods to create this comfy Easter dining corner!

This vintage white ladder that was my late grandmother's, was super fun to style & decorate! The spring tulips, brass bunnies, green glass masons & festive carrots..Basically everything spring entails!

This corner couldn't be any more comfy for Easter...Eggs, vintage dishes, festive pillow & of course a yummy candle!

I hope you guys liked his simple & practical Easter post! I think with the new items it was under $30! I love sharing easy & accessible items & styling!

{ Copper for Spring }

Welcome back pals!! I wanted to quickly come on here & showcase some thrifty vintage copper cannisters my parents brought back from Tybee Island!! I love that they all have an awesome natural patina & that they're copper! If you haven't noticed I switched a lot of my decor precisely in the dining room to brass/ copper accents!! Something about copper at the beginning of March screams spring.. Anyways come take a look at these cute but huge cannisters & a bonus easy spring centerpiece below....

These cannisters are huge!!! I kind of just set them here, then actually liked the look, however I have the table turned differently now...Story of a blogger, I'll show an update soon.

The copper against the wood & black are my favorite! Whimsical vintage cottage..
The tulips were needed for some depth, color & freshness!

I hope you loved this post!! Grab some thrifty cannisters in a set of 3, faux flower's & a table cloth / fabric & you're set for spring!!!

{ EFFORTLESS SPRING HOME REFRESH TIPS }

 Okay before I get all the messages saying it's NOT spring, yes I'm aware! I'm so aware that my winter Michigan heart needed some color or splashes of spring around the house...or at least on the main level! Last Friday I had a cancelation of a meeting, so I decided to turn on my kitchen radio & get to work!! I knew I had 3 different types of white paint in our maintenance closet & they were full gallons { white paint on hand ALWAYS }, so after spotting a new mini roller I decided to paint all the kitchen cabinets with a fresh pure matte white! I ended up refreshing the linen hall trim, doors etc..too! After that you know I had to restyle + freshen everything up decor & a bit of washing/ organization wise too! Come take a quick peek below...

I forgot I gave the fireplace mantel a nice coat of fresh white paint too! This space needed a little greenery, as I moved my baby {real} pine tree in my bedroom!!

EFFORTLESS  SPRING  REFRESH TIPS

1. Organize- Structure cabinets / bins/ closets/ drawers with labels/ dates / like items.

2. Pitch- Throw out any old, expired or unused items. Donate when applicable.

3. Clean- Give your whole home but especially the areas worked on the most a good deep clean. Wipe, vacuum, disinfect etc..
4. Style - Add some fresh decor to spaces that are dark, unused or lacking appeal. Of course the rest of your home too..That may mean shopping a new store or shopping your own home for a new look.

This space got a huge cleaning & I just placed some tall spring stems on the table!

A new almond scent soap caddy, de-clutter & wipe down left this space feeling simple & ready for spring!

I'm sorry this post was so short, but it's still February & very much cold + snowy here in Michigan...So slow spring decor is a must haha!

{ Refreshed Living Room }

 This week seems to be flying by all considering...Today I had a really important meeting. I took the rest of the day to clean up the front & backyard yard of debri & Christmas, got lunch out with my gram, washed my Jeep & relaxed! It was the first pretty sunny, but blustery day here in Michigan in some time...Had to take advantage if it! I photographed a few spots in my upstairs living room after Christmas & I thought I'd share it with you!! It's not winter, but not spring- something in-between ha....Anyways come take a little peel below!

Sorry I've been sharing this space a lot! To be honest I think I mentioned, but my lower level is still winter Christmas cabin..well kinda of all year ha! Anways I blogged this winter fireplace a few days ago & since have removed the bare Christmas tree & added a few new { old} items....A mix of winter+ spring & lots of texture!!

This little tree on the coffee table is still going strong & I just added some circa 1920s metal candleholders, vintage plate & some jute goods for a layered look!

I know this post was very short, but more to come soon!! Are you decorating for spring or still winter?

{ Antique Winter Mantel }

 Happy Sunday! I wanted to share this post before Monday because it's my last super wintery post..aka with the bare Christmas tree! Soon after this photoshoot I cleaned & restyled the majority of the upstairs! Seeing how it's only 14 degrees out on this sunny Sunday I thought it was right to share the last winter post! Anyways come see this cozy winter mantel below....

I wanted to end my winter season with this comfy textured fireplace mantel!! I love the simplicity of the chunky neutral black & wood candlesticks paired with the large white pillar candles!! I need all the warmth & glow here with our Michigan winters!!

I added a ton of texture, but kept the decor at a minimal.  From the tree skirt to basket & greenery...this space feels like a tidy winter cottage!

I added " Willard" my vintage duck decoy I found last year antiquing to the mantel too. I loved the brass, simple wreath & Willard all paired together! Faux antique goodness for this winter look!!

I love the bold, yet whimsical look in here, or did..because this space is completely different as I'm typing this, yep already haha!

I hope you enjoyed this winter glow in the upstairs living room! Do you still have your tree up?

{ Fresh Winter Collected Cabinet }

 Wow what a hiatus from the blog!! I'm so sorry it's been over two weeks since I posted!! I didn't intentionally do that, I've been physically sick since the last week in December! Christmas was a bit rough/ different this year but nonetheless still amazing!!.. Until I got extremely sick!! I ran a 103 temp for days, bronchitis & just grossness. More unfortunately so my family got sick { I had something different} , so I felt helpless for them. Today though I'm back with a freshened up whole house & one particular space/ piece for winter!! Come see the first freshened up area of 2022 below...

This cabinet needed attention so badly! I wiped, organized & displayed my glass antique bottle/ mason jar collections & added a ton of warm winter textures, candles, woods & of course vintage goods!

I kept the inside simple with my glass collections, baskets & items that I use/ match one another for a cohesive fresh clean appearance.

The pine trees on top of the cabinet are faux & the coffee table top one is real! I'm doing my best to keep it alive....

This cabinet throughout the year from different stylings/ shoot can become the "catch-all" , so it needed a simple cleaning & styling...

I hope you enjoyed this fresh winter cabinet!! I just thought, I should've shown a ' before' photo, but that would have just been embarrassing haha!!
• What's the first area you tackled after the holidays??
