{ Spring Garden Table }

I've been trying to make every corner in our little red brick cottage super fresh, greenery filled & welcoming..since, well we're at home a lot these days!! I'm surprised with how much stuff I have that I  forgot about or haven't used in this style or area! Our dining room this year has been the freshest & simplest it's ever been..burlap, boxwood & wood accents. With sticking with that look I moved this antique table that was my grams' from Canada that's  over 60 years old in this empty corner of the dining room! I added more boxwood,  rusty Mason jars & two huge burlap bags with a #DIY sign I made in 2012!! Come see this cute garden table below....

I've had these huge burlap bags forever & have only used them once! They're actually embroidered, but I turned them around because I dont care for the writing...again use what you have & improvise!! I love how big, textured & neutral they are!

Boxwood has been taking the show in our dining room & I love the fresh simple green look! • See a few posts back for a full tour!

My most favorite pieces are these cloches filled with freestanding boxwood stems! I had them downstairs in our kitchenette area & they were just collecting dust...The rusty glass masons I added to fill spots!

Isn't this the cutest garden table?! What's your going spring theme this year? I know it's hard with everything going on in the world, but USE what you have, SHOP your home & get CREATIVE!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

{ DIY Cottage Wallpapered Cabinet Shelves }

I've been wanting to update my favorite piece of furniture for a few months now, but honestly I hate measuring ha. A DIY-er truth right there! This cabinet however did need a bit of measuring, so I had time & did it!! I wanted something bright, cottagey & well spring-ish!! I happen to have some leftover Hearth & Hand fern wall paper from our backsplash HERE leftover & used that! I think covering the glass made it a bit more cozy & added something to the inside! Of course after I added the charming DIY, I had to redecorate for spring...•Come see what this spring cabinet looks like now below!

The white & green fern paper with the new decor is so fresh! I used some white flowers, green foliage wreaths,  vintage brown bottles & birdhouse to bring the spring in!

DIY:
......................
.I wiped the glass down first!
.Measured the glass minus the white wood border on each level!
.Layed the paper down with double stick tape! SIMPLE!
............................

I wanted to keep the color pallet simple with browns, green & pops of white! Vintage books, tan crocks & pops of galvanized tin!

My favorite part are these chalky birds that have been all over our home recently & I through  this statement piece { birdhouse} in at the last minute & I'm so glad I did!!

This shelf is only one level & I ended up adding a coordinated mini bird cage & another crock & white flowers! I kept the brown showing on the wood border to match the lower level wood pieces!

This is probably my most favorite display in this cabinet & again another DIY for free!
What do you think of this wallpaper & decor refresh in this cabinet?

HAPPY Friday!

{ Painted Vintage Coffee Table }

The days are running together at this point & honestly my anxiety is super high! I have health anxiety OCD as is & this coronavirus has me literally paralyzed.  So, what better way than to combat some stress than to crank some music & paint! My husband brought this little antique pop up table home a few months back & I instantly fell in love with ! I have a thing for cubby style furniture & furniture pieces with antique porcelain hardware..this table had both!!!
Come see this table refresh below...

I didn't mind the peach/ tan paint color for Christmas,  because it worked well..but for spring I wanted something fresher & to coordinate with our other cottagey pieces!

I used some leftover white paint & it literally took me 20 minutes & voila! Bright, fresh & free!

I kept the folding edges the natural wood for some contrast & warmth! It pulls from the fireplace & adds even more charm to this comfy table!!

 Thanks for popping on here, sorry the post is a quick one..I've been trying to keep busy, but I'm a bit tired today...Another DIY will be on the blog SOON!

HAPPY Thursday!

{ Boxwood Spring Dining Room }

Every spring or season for that matter I like to refresh spaces simply for you guys! That could mean some simple white paint, decor switches or even shopping my own home! I like to bring you content for the different seasons of life that everyone can do, because let's be honest not everyone has contractors at their hands or handy husbands..I have been blessed with a mix of both but sometimes it's STILL not feasible to undertake such huge projects! I mentioned on my INSTAGRAM stories ( follow me for direct updates ) that I was killing time by getting some projects done around the house while being quarantined...This included the painting of the oak shelf in the dining room!  I crave change in our little cottage & love using it as a pallet for you guys! Today I'm sharing the dining room filled with one of my favorite types of greenery- BOXWOOD!! I love the look of them, color, texture & just the overall feel for spring & even summer..Versatile for two seasons..check!! I'm all about saving when you can & being able to transition this greenery is a huge plus! Come see our dining room splashed in boxwood below...

I kept it comfy, yet simple in the dining room with only whites, wood tones & lots of accented boxwoods! I used the most texture ever in here with baskets,burlap, rustic woods etc.. For the table I used lots of my favorite things mostly being vintage mixed with new! Old milk glass bottle, rustic white stand, coffee cups & lots of greenery! I've loved mixing old + new for quite some time..My husband used be in a business where treasures were free & plentiful & he started bringing them home for me in 2008..My family has always had a love for vintage antiques, and it definitely passed down to me!

I'll touch on this more in a separate post, but I love to dress up this huge vintage barn door! I used something I never thought to put on it, but actually love it! Keep scrolling for  a better look..

This is the shelf I finally got painted after having it up since Christmas..haha yikes! I just used some leftover white paint I had laying around in the basement & I love the fresh look! Th pops of boxwood look nice with the white & pops of texture!

I hope you guys liked this fresh spring dining room flocked in boxwood!! It's so fresh & super simple..I'm learning these days less is actually in fact more! Anyways stay safe out there friends!
Have you ever decorated with boxwood?
HAPPY Monday!

{ Spring Garden Corner }

With being stuck in the house lately I got antsy & have been refreshing some decor around the house for spring!! I say "stuck", but I actually don't mind it..I was always so busy when I was younger that I don't actually mind now being tucked away inside for a bit!! I'm super accommodating & social but also very introverted! I enjoy my -me- time cleaning, decorating & being creative...hence blogging ha! Anyways,  I moved some furniture around the other night & decided to style a little wood antique garden table with different metal pots, watering can etc... Come see this cheery spring corner below...

This little corner in the upstairs needed some spring warmth & reshness..So what better way than to add florals, texture, vintage treasures { mason jar lamp } & of course garden decor!

This glass mason jar lamp was an old thrifty find from up north when my grandma lived on the lake in Lexington! She had the best junking spots...Ah I miss her home up there.. Anyways I chalk painted it cream & distressed it..

I went a little overboard with the florals, but this area needed it & these ones are super realistic & cozy looking!

I've always loved doves, so these two have been getting moved around our little cottage all over! They're cute, festive & are so cozy springish.

HAPPY Friday!

{ Spring Ivy Garland }

I've been getting a few questions about my latest obsession { ivy garland } , so I thought it was time to share a post with some photos & FAQS! I first spotted some I loved for super affordable at our local Dollar Tree...crazy right?! It was one of those last minute grabs & buy ha! For $1 though I thought what the heck.. Since then I've spotted the garland a few other places..but decidedly so I actually like the $1 stuff better!! Come gather some more information below!

SOURCES:

.Dollar Tree
.Hobby Lobby
.Michaels
.Walmart

I love it because it's so versatile! It's fresh, bright, simple, cozy & whimsical !! It's also very easy to drape in different spaces  for a touch of greenery!

The large leaves make the garland cozy cottage or even farmhouse appropriate! The brown twine adds some rustic nature appeal .

I think my most favorite area I used the ivy garland was placing it in the window! It's  so simple & fresh! • Full post HERE
Have you used ivy garland in decor? Which area we used it is your favorite?

Happy Tuesday!

{ Lavender Spring Bedroom }

Something I've been doing a lot lately,  more than my usual OCD-ness is CLEANING!! With every spring season I tend to get the urge to purge & freshen spaces up! Since this Covid-19 outbreak it's even more important to not only clean but keeping spaces refreshed! Updating & making spaces comfy always seems to brighten my mood, so today I'm sharing our spring bedroom!! I blogged the new vintage chandy HERE.

I spotted this lavender pillow & well that's how this little spring bedroom refresh started! I love the pops of color, but still neutral cottage goodness!

We've used this fireplace a ton this year with the bone chilling windy winter days! It's nice to cozy in & flip a switch! Our room runs cooler than the rest of our upper level, so it's a must!

Adding this vintage bed & breakfast chandelier gave the room depth & a more classic vintage vibe! Pretty fitting with the rustic sign above the bed that reads: Bed and Breakfast!
•Sign is from: Thread & Wood!

I bought a bundle of lavender long stems from Michael's & only paid $6!! Used some in the tobacco baskets, fireplace mantel & mini lavender pots on our nightstands!

I hope y'all enjoyed this simple spring bedroom refresh...it was much needed & the color gave it a little lift!!
• is your room colorful or neutral?
