{ Classic Cozy Cabin Inspired Christmas Basement }

I can' believe I'm already on day #3 of my Christmas room tour!! I'm not going to lie to you guys, although I love my neutrals I'm super stoked for you guys to see this space splashed with tons of vintage pieces, reds & everything a classic Christmas stands for!! Something about the bright festive colors paired with our two trees in our lower level has me feeling all the feels! I obviously love Christmas &  this year the colors are just speaking to me..weird for my neutral loving heart! I chose to add our little 4ft charlie brown tree I picked up last year & it made all the difference!! I went super simple with the pops of red & then just added some vintage treasures & kept our 7ft tree also simple with plain red berry stems & gold bulbs. I also used two of our parson chairs in the check print next to the fireplace to add something to the sides & that probably was the biggest impact!! This space evokes everything cozy & during these cold months we use this area for weekend parties, gatherings & cozy low-key nights with our favorite classic movies!!

I placed this vintage wooden box that is actually an old Pepsi game box that had the matching game wall box & I just set this plaid pillow from Michaels last year in front of it! The glass lantern is vintage & the red basket/trees are from Target!

The cabin sign is from hobby lobby a long time ago & I just painted it! The fireplace screen & decor are all thrifty finds from junkin up north!

My mom picked up this little centerpiece & I loved the simplicity & it fit perfectly in this huge wood tray! It's perfect for candles & contains all the mess while down here! I kept classic red bows on both trees, as well as the garland for that cohesive look!

**You can see how we used this huge tray a few Christmases ago HERE

I mentioned this via my Instagram, but I picked up these Christmas tree pillows 2/for $11 @walmart!!  I didn't photograph the other sofa { which is the same} but the other pillow is on there & the same but with a red truck..I mean the deal I couldn't pass up!!

**See last year's Full Christmas Home Tour HERE

Whoa that was a long post hahah! I hope you guys enjoyed this festive warm space, because we sure do!! Although it's our lower level & the light tends to be darker etc.. I think we did a pretty decent job of making it feel warm & bright especially for the holidays!!! What do you prefer? Color splashes or neutral decor?!

Happy & healthy weekend!!

{ Icy Winter Cottage Style Christmas Mantel }

Welcome back for day #2 & room #2 on my Christmas Home Tour!! If you're new then I will explain quickly..I do do a sneak peek preview of 6 rooms in our home then a full Holiday Home Tour combining all the spaces for a house walk!! I feel so honored yesterday's post was such a hit & you guys actually come here for inspiration!! This space in our upper living room usually is one of my favorite places to decorate, but to be honest this year I went super simple & icy contrary to what my cozy warmer style entails..& that's perfectly fine with me!! I started by picking up this "Merry" sign from @homegoods for under $20 & then the flocked garland & bulbs etc..Not what I first had planned,but with some cute galvanized planters to go with the galvanized metal sign it turned out so wintery & festive!! I know everything upstairs is neutral, BUT I promise our lower level is splashed with color & I'll be blogging it soon..sneak peek HERE.

Everything in this space was thrifted or a junkin find minus the greenery & planters & signs! I just love the look of old treasures paired with cozy new goods for that cottagey/ farmhouse look! I think this was the easiest mantel we have ever done...

**You can see last year's mantel HERE

All the flocked goods are from Walmart. This is my first year using flocked garland, trees & wreaths..& I'm super excited I ended for once going with the masses haha.

This living room is the perfect icy wintery spot to cozy in with the tree &  mantel lit with a nice hot cup of hot chocolate!! Funny how wintery goods can still make a space soo warm /cozy & cottagey!

I spotted those olive bucket hanging planters from @homegoods & I knew I had to have them & bonus they were on sale for under $15 each!!

What do you guys think of this cozy wintery Christmas space all decked out for the holidays? Gosh I just love the holidays & how all the decor, smells, cozy feelings & cheer brighten our days!!

Happy Thursday!

{ Greenery Filled Vintage Christmas Dining Room }

Ahhhh my first post out of our usual 6-7 rooms that will be featured in our holiday home tour!! I had some time today to photograph 3 areas in our little suburban cottage, so I thought I would share the first being our dining room! This year with everything going on { my dad is sick } etc.. I thought I would use the basics with super simple whimsical vintage holiday accents! I started by adding our little 4ft Christmas tree in the corner of the dining room , which just so happens to be my most favorite spot & then I added a bunch of vintage treasures from junkin & some that have meaning to me..I kept the color scheme simple as well with just greenery, textures, black, greens & pops of navy to accent the holiday berry greenery! I've always loved the blue & green plaids so I wanted to incorporate that into this space while still keeping it soothing & neutral with that fresh winter vibe! Okay enough describing, just come take a peek below!!!

** Last year's Holiday Home Tour HERE

I'm sure you all have heard of the Gaines' new line "Hearth & Hand" @target ,but I ended up picking these up from the collection..they're actually placemats,but I decided of course to use them for something else..I love the pop of wintery color & vintage charm they add & they were only $10.

Like I said above this is my favorite little corner!! It screams fresh vintage charm & that little tree in the basket are some of my favs in our home this Christmas!! Most of these pieces in this corner & in the dining room are authentic vintage pieces we've thrifted or saved from loved ones..
*You can see last year's Christmas Dining Room HERE

I wasn't sure what I was going to to with this dining room to be honest with you guys..kind of like the rest of my post I just go with it..I needed something for this wall & didn't have anything so I kind of just hung this gathering basket & stuck a Christmas tree in it with some berry clumps & I loved it!! The wood decals next to it are old vintage garage decals from my grandmother's old home I saved!

The bells were a free find & the stool is sentimental & I've explained that before..I love the little pine trees staggered on it & the simple neutral touches! Our dining room isn't huge, but is a nice size so it was fun to add some seating & decor this season!

I'm so pleased at how this space came together & for close to nothing!! It's always is amazing what you can do with old things you have stashed away & how with a few new things it can look totally different each season! I hope you guys love this space as much as me, because honestly this time of the year for bloggers is stressful but so REWARDING..For me especially because I've always been Christmas crazy.

Happy Wednesday!

{ DIY Christmas Photos in 6 Simple Steps.. }

Welcome back everyone!!! I hope your Thanksgiving was a blast & you enjoyed your family etc.. Today I'm sharing something that is near & dear to my heart for more than one reason to be honest. Sooo I mention this 10 million times every Christmas & I'm sure you guys can tell, but I'm Christmas crazy & that means having our pictures taken around this time for our annual Christmas card that goes out soon. So, we used to use my professional camera, we've had them taken & we've done them ourselves & to be honest it's sooo much more fun being able to do your own for so many reasons & it doesn't have to be difficult!! Before I get a flood of e-mails saying things like " Well you're a blogger of course it's easy" or " You use Photoshop " or " You use an expensive camera" etc.. I will share a little secret with you guys..I use NONE OF THOSE for our photos!! I've become so simple these days & the more rustic & authentic the better, because who wants to look so staged it's creepy..Ya, not us either! Today I'm sharing some simple ways to take photos for this upcoming season!!!

1. PICK YOUR LOCATION

This is the biggest part of how you want your photos/card to look like are dependent on your location! I always go with a neutral, but festive background like a tree farm lot, park or just any solid background for an even easier pick. Crop out any not so "pretty" things that may end up on the sides..This can be done right on your phone..which leads me to my next tip below!!

2. USE YOUR PHONE /SELFIE STICK

Okay before you laugh at the selfie stick thing which is kind of funny, but seriously you guys it works wonders, they're super cheap & if you're alone or can't get someone to snap a few or you don't have a camera timer/ tripod use this tip!! It may not be the best, but it's practical & helpful. You can always use the above what I mentioned as well too which are obviously better!

Side Note: After you take a few photos you like you can edit them right on your phone with tons of free apps before transferring your photos to a @vistaprint card!

3. PICK YOUR THEME/ OUTFITS

This is another one of those things that can make a non-professional photoshoot more professional looking by simply coordinating your outfits per the occasion. I would stick to sold colors & just add accents etc..The bolder the better!!

4. BRING A PROP

This isn't a MUST ,but bringing a small prop to add something to the photos is always fun!! You could do a wreath, festive blanket, scarf, mistletoe etc..

5. EDIT

After you take your photos & pick which ones you want, then go on on your phone/ free app & crop, darken the contrast, add warmth etc..Most phones even do face brightening, retouching, blurred background effects etc..Super easy & they make the photos more eye appealing & crisp!

6. ORDER THEM

This is my most favorite step!!! We've been using Vistaprint for almost 6 years now & they NEVER disappoint!! They're super fun, affordable & FAST!! They also have awesome customer service & plenty of holiday options for all your Christmas card needs! I think last time I looked they had over 150 to choose from & they're always offering discount codes!!

VISTAPRINT

I hope you guys like these kind of posts!! Not everyone has the time or funds to hire a photographer, so hopefully these can help you in some way this holiday season. I'll be back shortly to my regular decor posts..& I'm super excited about showing you guys our little suburban cottage decked out for Christmas!!

Happy Tuesday!!

{ Favorite Festive ANTHROPOLOGIE Christmas Goods }

It's almost Wednesday so I thought I would pop on here before the festivities start & the long weekend is here..I'm super excited for some good food, drinks & of course family time. I can sometimes be very antisocial, but with my dad being sick & all it's going to be nice to enjoy just our close little 5-6 people gathering & some quality time...Ugh here come the tears. You guys I've been a mess lately, but taking our little vacation to one of our favorite places { New York City } helped a bit..While we were there our last night we had just chowed down a bunch of Chick-Fil -A since we had never had it before haha & then decided to hit the town that night & just as we were getting ready to cross the street Mark spotted the NYC Anthropologie store EEEEK!! I just so happen to not be paying attention { shocker } & he goes "Ohhh honey LOOK " hahah..I literally sprinted across the street in my fringe boots & almost got taken out by 3 taxi's haha..Come take a peek at some of these unique items I found there while browsing!!

So as soo as I stepped in I ran to these!! I loved the way they were rustically styled, & how unique they were!!! I regret not picking some up for our tree upstairs...UGH! I may have to go back to the one in Michigan & see if they have them as well!!

 These were my second favorites!! I love the light teal glass bulbs with the blueberry vine like berry twine!! It's so my style &I may have added some of this in our dining room..I'll be blogging each Christmas space before the full Christmas Home Tour per usual, so stay tuned!!

I love the tin houses because to me they gave off that cozy cottage feel,but with that little bit of industrial/eclectic feel! These have been super popular this year...I spotted them at Pottery Barn too & a couple chains..I love them, the glass metallic tree trend ehh not so much haha!

What do you think about these fun & unique finds from the Anthro store? I always like to stick to what I love/my style,but every once in again something strikes my eye & these items for sure did, not to mention in the most magical city! Hope you enjoyed this inspiration!!

Happy THANKSGIVING EVE!
