{ Summer Garden Sunflowers }

 Hey my pals!! Hope your summer is going smoothly & you're enjoying everything summer entails! Ours has been quite eventful & not in a good way unfortunately! Within a week our appliances decided to crash on us...Washer { only 2 yrs old }, garage door, AC & furnace!! Needless to say I needed a little pickup & some AC stat!! I had a bunch of errands to run & didn't mind because jeep AC ha.. Anyways, I bought myself some $2 sale Sunflowers & greens to brighten my sweltering day.  I usually grab some from my dad's dead-end, but I haven't made it over lately..So sale Kroger flowers it is! They weren't in horrible shape, but I have a few tips to perk up drooping sunflower heads for you...Keep reading below for this simple tip! 

 

This is a space I don't share much here on the blog, with the exception of Christmas! It's our lower level basement kitchenette area! I decided after I cleaned down here I would put the fresh flowers down here! We've been staying down here since the AC is being repaired  { I'm heat intolerant from Lupus }. One thing lead to another & well, I got rid of a whole bag of stuff, cleaned & refreshed!! 

 

This perky guy or gal is a healthy sunflower! Upright, perky & full!! See below for tips on  droopy or bent Sunflowers & how to perk them back up!!

 

SUNFLOWER TIPS:

• if drooping they could be dehydrated.  Add some warm water & a bit of sugar to the water. Cut the stems on an angle & stir the water. This should perk them up!

 

 

•Side Note: Don't those apple pie cookies look delicious??

We love using this space in the winter for entertaining, but this summer I was determined to bring summer inside down here...Especially with our AC being repaired. This garden sign is one of my most favorite vintage replicas. I needed something big for this wall & this sign was the perfect size & summer look!!

{ Garden Fresh Summer Mantel }

 Happy Tuesday, pals! As many of you know I've been going through someone changes, dealing with health issues & just figuring thing's out.. One thing I'm trying to work on is being more spontaneous & worry free! I've always been a worrier & spontaneous actually, but also super type A thatgets the best of me!! Today a friend & I after some outside work decided to have a yummy sit down lunch, visit a greenhouse & have a little flower photoshoot in her storybook { fawns, patio door turtle visitors, neighbor horses etc..} garden & property! I also did something for myself { I'll share Thursday}, but today I'm sharing the flowers my bestie bouquet'ed  up for me fresh from the garden!

 

The most beautiful flowers right?!! The walk-in meadow lined with these is so charming upon pulling in her driveway! 

 

Although I don't decorate with pink very often, if ever, today I did!! Spontaneous post, photoshoot & I love them!!  They paired nicely with this woven basket from last weekend's market!! 

 

I don't think these blooms could have gotten any bigger! They're just natural beauties growing...Sometimes it's best to let nature do its thing!

{ Our Vintage Club Car }

A different type of post today but you guys know I love to include you in our life including some fun purchases/ lifestyle journeys! So little back story on this cute gem..It's a vintage gas beaut that is totally customized! She's been rebuilt from the ground up, with wifi, stereo,  lights,  blinkers, vintage rims, horn,  hazards, cupholders, cooler storage, headlights, phone charger, lighter, bump guard etc.. We had been looking for a gas club car for quite sometime with no luck..They were either electric or sold. We stopped looking for awhile because we got busy with summer, projects & honestly just forgot!! About 3 weeks ago Mark was on Craigslist looking for furniture & stumbled upon this car! We loved the vintage appeal { we didn't want brand new for this reason} from the color to new everything! Come see some pictures below & WHY we wanted/ needed a Club Car 🚗.!

Isn't she cute y'all?! We've named her "Gidget" hahaha! I think it fits nicely with all her gadgets! As you can see she's completely brand new, custom & very comfortable! 

• We added her black top once we uploaded her. I'll photograph soon! 

** Side Note: How cute is the matching greenery planter!

The owner added these vintage rims that finished her off! She goes 32mph & the stereo is so loud..Which will be nice for cruises up north at the cottage & trips to the ponds! That's one of the reasons we wanted a club car was for up north cruising.  Another being antiquing,  fun & hauling { she's got a back fold down area! 

** Sorry she's dirty, needs a washing! SOON!

We've already taken her on a little adventure & we can't wait to show more of her & the adventures & memories we take + make!

{ Spring Sofa Table }

One piece of furniture that I've neglected lately but love to refresh is this free sofa table I painted last year! We had it downstairs in the living room for years & I never painted it or styled until last year! • See original post HERE
It needed a refresh, until I can replace this piece with a new piece after the new sofas are chosen or maybe even  moving { update on house search soon}! Until then I wanted to give it a refresh!

This is the first space you see upon stepping up from the entrance! I wanted it welcoming, cozy & warm! I used a ton of texture, chunky wood cubbies & of course mixed in greenery & vintage decor!

 

This sofa console table is pretty large , so I was able to get away with using quite of bit of decor! I removed the big basket of shoes & put them in the mini mudroom & used some warm rustic wood crates below! The mantel is full of brass, so I coordinates the planters with the fireplace mantel.. { see last post }

This space hasn't been this cozy since Christmas!! I love turning on the cute lamps at night..extra cozy + comfy! I've been asked what we keep in that white fireplace box & wood cubby..The wood cubby is empty & the white fireplace box stores all my tools, batteries, chalk,  pens, matches etc..

{ Lakehouse Cottage Mantel }

Hey pals!! I hope you all are staying safe as well as your loved ones!  I mentioned in yesterday's post that I literally haven't bought anything in forever since this Covid19....Well, that's true, but I forgot I had bought this cottage artwork months ago for summer & because it has so much meaning to me! One of my most ,if not favorite places to rewind,  explore & take in Pure Michigan would be our cottage! It's near Point Betsie Lighhouse & it's just so whimsical & magical!!! I spotted this artwork at HomeGoods & of course it had to come home with me! I was going to wait to post this, but with everything going on in the world right now and seeing how it snowed today,  I needed the pep up! Come see this cottage mantel below...

I mean this art speaks for itself,  but just look at the detail & cozy warm cottage days!

I love the Lakehouse vibe going on in here! It's the perfect mix of cottage lakehouse cozy! The green check chairs, vintage fishing pole & license plate { they were my late grandpa's} & the bright greenery with pops of brass! 

 

One of my favorite vintage pieces ❤! I love the amber brown glass masons too. I swagged the tiniest rope light on the mantel, for that whimsical lighthouse feel. I'll post a picture on my Instagram soon of it at night  so be sure to follow me! { All media handles on right sidebar of blog }

{ Best Crate Spring Centerpiece }

My blogs branded ALL about doable cozy decor that the average everyday person can achieve in their home! Today I have the easiest & coziest vintage inspired centerpiece ANYONE can do in no time! My gram had got this crate for me a few weeks ago & I kind of just left it off to the side until today! I refreshed the whole house nearly & the dining room was the first! I took down what little Easter decor I had & brought this huge wood crate inside! Keep reading below to see this 10 minute spring centerpiece!

 

This crate was just a simple wood industrial storage crate.  I can't remember what the paper said stapled on the sides, but I just tore them off. 

 

I added the towel,  cakestand & sprigs of flowers & done!! This whole centerpiece was under $20 & about 10 minutes to assemble!

 

I love the rich rustic wood tone but I wanted to add some custom charm to the front of the crate, so I nailed this garden sign I had!!
