{ Country Ski Lodge Porch }

 Happy Thursday & almost Friday!! Marks headed to the cottage with my dad for some winterizing & I have almost all my chores done ha, so that can only mean one thing....Girls night OUT ha! Before things get to crazy { I kid } I wanted to share our Festive Winter Christmas Porch! You see when the weather is warm, like today here in Michigan we take advantage of it!!! I was outside quite a bit today cleaning & decorating while it was 62 & sunny! This is one of my most favorite areas to decorate at our little red brick cottage...I must say between last year's & this year's it's a close tie!! Come see this year's cozy porch look....

I haven't always liked this porch...there I said it ha! But after redoing the stting area with rustic wood planks, cleaning the brick & freshening the white paint up I actually adore it now!!

The whole inspiration for this year's Christmas porch was this awesome vintage ski patrol replica sign! It's greatly done , simple & not overly festive...Considering we do have an 8ft tree & 52 inch wreath in the space as well!!

The simple color pallet, overload of Christmas greenery & minimal vintage ski lodge type of decor complete this space!

The "star" of the show is this handmade ski pillow in canvas!

The sled is vintage & I painted it white...but when I pulled it out this year, something amazing happened! I noticed a red chippy patina on it!! It's the original red paint popping through...just perfect for this year's display!

I couldn't be more pleased at how this all came together! It's simple, vintage & festive! What are you using on your porch this year? Are you a skier??

CHEERS TO Friday!

{ Chalkboard Christmas Mantel }

 Hope your Monday was good to you pals! Mine started out just feeling uninspired & blah, and honestly most of the morning I didn't accomplish much... Then Mark came home & started blowing leaves & working on the back, so I got inspired inside to spruce up the mantel & then we came together  outside & started our 2020 Christmas porch! Honestly, the brisk air , honey time & doing some decor / diy pepped  me right up!! Today I'm here to show you how I styled this mantel with 5 items! Yup, f i v e items!!

Come see more below on this Christmas fireplace mantel......

THIS LOOK:
  •  Metal  Candlesticks
  • Cream + white chunky candles
  • Holiday Christmas chalkboard
  • Garland / pinecones

I wanted a chalkboard on the mantel because it flowed nicely with the living room wall decor! Something simple, neutral, festive & vintage/ cottage like!!

Chalkboard from  https://www.homegoods.com

The rug, dainty brass candlesticks paired with the chunky almond ones & oversized flocked garland add vintage & whimsical charm!

The Flocked Garland is from https://www.walmart.com

I had to include a few night photos too. I just love the ambiance of the candles, vanilla almond scent & the anticipation of Christmas!!

I've loved both mantels I've showcased this year, but like almost everything in life..I do have a favorite haha....THIS ONE!!

{ Cozy Christmas Counter }

 Happy Saturday pals! It's been a very chill vibe around here today & extra cozy comfy! I'm one of those people who try to keep a schedule throughout the week, so the weekends are for projects, dates & just down time in general! This week I must've had some extra energy because I checked everything off by early Friday! It's always nice to start the weekend off with a freshened up home, right ?!

Anyways I got to play with some decor today & add some more Christmas magic! Although I never blog on the weekends, today I was just so inspired! Come see more Christmas charm on the kitchen counter below ....

I'm not doing anything elaborate but more soft & elegant this year. Lots of neutral vintage antiques & simple festive touches. These vintage gold rimmed tea cups are so gorgeous, cozy & sentimental! They flow nicely with the dining room decor look this year & added so much warmth & charm!

This fireplace box got some fresh white paint up here quickly & I just left it here kinda to dry & well I loved it !! Extra storage, depth & I love it styled so here we are ha..

I've talked about this before, but mixing metal finishes is kind of my jam..No rules here ha! To be honest it's been one of those wintery days where it's been cold, dry & the sky a gray white with huge puffy snow clouds { my favorite}..Perfect tea time day! I gather inspiration from ALL over & today it was our wintery Saturday weather !!!

Hope you loved this vintage Christmas counter display! Do you decorate your counter space or kitchen window?

Happy Saturday!

{ Elegant Cottage Christmas Mantel }

 Hey my pals!! Today is all about our Christmas mantel upstairs!! Of course I'll be blogging the lower level as well, but I wanted to start out simple upstairs fireplace mantel first.. If you've been following me for years you know I go more staged formal upstairs with Christmas decor & more fun traditional downstairs where we open gifts, entertain etc.. Today I'm showcasing our elegant cottage mantel..A simple, fancy but cozy mantel + decor to start out the season!! Come see more below!

I had a simple creamy elegant idea in my head with a touch of fancy! I stuck with real frosted pinecone { they smell delicious} , gold beading & lots of creams!

The gold beading pairs nice with the orange & browns for that elegant vintage vibe 👌! I used an old coal bucket with birch logs & crocks to house our trees!

The focal point of the mantel of course is the NOEL wood sign! It brings in that rustic yet elegance with the two tone gold/ wood desigMaking of a Mantel:n & brings the gold beading together! The brass gold candle sticks add a touch of traditional goodness! Probably the easiest Christmas mantel ever!

Making of a Mantel:
. LAYERS
. HEIGHT
. FOCAL POINT

Here's a sneak peek of some more of the vintage cottage farm living room! Simple, authentic & comfy! Again, super light on decor this year upstairs!

The copious amounts of cream & almond candles not only look esthetically pleasing but also smell great! The white framed tv & beadboard walls add the texture & style to the overall look!

Honestly I wanted vintage brown trees for up here, but unfortunately they are hard to come by..I'm okay with these gorgeous flocked beauties though! I'll be back SOON with another mantel look!
•What kind of mantel or tree decor are you using this year? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Tuesday!

{ Best Decor Gift Idea }

 Happy Thursday! Today is one of those post I'm so excited to share with you all because it's something for EVERYONE & ANYONE! I've been wanting a vintage style radio for our entertaining family room for quite sometime! We listen to music while we do projects, have friends over, clean & well just about everyday! I'm not sure why it took us so long to get this item, but I'm sure every adult needs one in their home! So, to kick of the holiday season I treated myself to one....

This has quickly become a cozy little corner I sit & listen to music, read magazines & well just relax! I love how the vintage inspired radio fits in with the decor, how small & simple it is!

It's from @Amazon.com for $37! It comes in Expresso & Walnut. I love the detailing & vintage appeal! Comes with Bluetooth capabilities, bass & more.

This is one of those gifts literally anybody would appreciate! It looks great as a piece of decor along with being functional & useful for entertaining yourself or others.

I hope you loved this gift idea!
What are some gifts you're looking to buy yourself or others this year?

{ Simple Christmas Touches }

 One thing I always want to  show on here are the simple ways you can add coziness to your home, the REAL & THRIFTY way. No unlimited budgets, mass amounts of goods or help. This past weekend I decorated for Christmas...A bit early for most, but not this holiday decor loving blogger haha! I only brought out a few items but decorated both the upstairs family room & dining room..The most effortlessly simple comfy decor! Today I'm sharing the dining room! Come see some Christmas touches below...

I hate to admit this but I always like more decor than less. I also thought more meant cozier, until a few years ago. Less can add so much more to the eye because you're focused on a few great items rather than a bunch of overwhelming pieces!

SIMPLE TOUCHES

• Use items you use..Like coffee mugs!
• Bring in the seasons from outside! I used these faux snowballs & pinecone!
• Use sentimental items! I displayed this handmade sign from Mark's gram!
• Use larger scale items!
• Arrange items in a cozy fashion! I usually set in groups of 3, placing one large item on either side, tallest in back & smallest in front!
• Make your own decor/ displays! I used my favorite old frame & placed a huge flocked wreath inside.

•Bringing the outdoors in, with these faux snowballs

• Make your own decor display, like the vintage frame & wreath

• Arrange things cozy , like these 3 cozy items as the centerpiece

• Use sentimental items , like the sign

What do you think about these ideas? I love that this year's decor I can use for winter decor after! Simple sometimes is more! What's your theme this year?

Happy Wednesday!
