{ Simple Detox Bath Recipe ]

Happy Monday!! Boy today has been a busy one already & I'm loving it!!! We started this early day with a business meeting, calls & getting some papers in order for my husband's new business ,and I had the nicest chat with my ever so enlightening mom { she was on vacation for 2 weeks }! I thought what the heck since the sun is out I would photograph two posts for this week that I've been meaning to blog... So before I start I'm stating I'm in NO WAY A DOCTOR OR AFFILIATED WITH THE MEDICAL FIELD! This little detox recipe is my own with some knowledge from others, Internet readings & books. I posted a few days ago about my dry skin remedy & it was quite popular.. --> Lotion Buffing, so today I decided to step out of my comfort zone again & share this little detox bath I've come to like... So, long story short.. I've got a back of a 90 year old. I got slight scoliosis in my upper back, I have hip discrepancy & who knows what else?! I love soaking in these baths to help loosen me up as well as my husband too. He has old car accident injuries, so he loves to soak & detox after a long laborious day on the job..Like I said before this recipe may not be for everyone, and I'm not saying do it without talking to your medical practitioner before hand, but they're so soothing, so why not share. I know I will get E-mail after E-mail about people, so I had to put this out there :/. I hope you enjoy this detox bath consisting of Epsom salt, peroxide & coconut oil.

Supplies

. Epsom Salt - 1 cup
. Peroxide { I used 3% } 1- 2 cups
. Pure Coconut Oil 2- 3 tablespoons

- E p s o m  S a l t -

Epsom salt is one of those staple items most people keep in their home. It comes in handy for so many things from cleaning to medical uses.

Benefits

  • Soothes Muscles
  •  Delivers Magnesium Through Skin Absorption
  • Aids in Constipation Relief
  • Can help with High Blood Pressure
  • Natural Antiseptic

** Be sure to ask your health provider if you suffer from low blood pressure, diabetes, heart issues or any other major medical condition.

- P e r o x i d e -

Benefits

  • Oxygen Supplement
  • Removes Toxins
  • Provides Energy
  • Kills Germs in Bath Water

** Start out with small doses of peroxide and work your way up if you're not showing irritation. Some interactions can occur with the skin, headaches or GI tract issues. I have had zero reactions so far. I read that since it provides oxygen rejuvenation it can cause energy to spike late at night in some people. Watch your hair while using peroxide as well.

- C o c o n u t  O i l -

Benefits

  •  Nourish Skin
  • Moisturizer
  • Natural Cleanser
  • Helps Fight Fungi
  • Gentle Skin Exfoliate & the list goes on!

** Be sure you have no allergies to coconut before hand. Rinse tub well after.

After using this combo my skin is soo smooth, the redness is lighter { I have keratosis Pilaris } & dry skin is lesser. I felt refreshed & I will say it does flush the toxins from within if you will..Be sure to drink plenty of water after! I hope this helps you feel refreshed, rejuvenated & brighter while winter takes its toll on us internally & externally!

Happy Monday night & thank you so much for helping me grow this little practical blog of mine!!

{ DIY Indoor Spring Potting Table }

Happy Tuesday! Hoping Monday was good to you guys..I spent the whole day cleaning, finishing laundry { Random fact about me, I hate stagnant laundry in the house soo it's constant } & decorating / photographing this cute little spring DIY! If you're from the north then you know it's dropped in temps again & we all got a bit teased with the possibility of an early spring..but come on lets be real IT'S MICHIGAN haha! I've been craving spring & have been feeling a bit bored with some stuff in our living room { makeover coming soon } so I added a little DIY faux potting table :)! Another random fact, but I'm obsessed with potting benches! I just love the look of them, even though ironically I'm the worst gardener ever...Ask my mom she pops over every summer to pull my weeds " I missed..#ocd ha" & water my plants that I've either under-watered or soaked..poor little guys don't stand a chance with me :/. I've had this table that we found for free & I kind of love it in it's rustic worn ways.. I've had it for a few months & thought I'd give it one last hurrah moment in it's natural state before I sell, paint or move it. Come take a peek at this super simple faux spring potting bench look & how to make one yourself with some simple garden supplies..

This potting bench could be done by anyone!! You can use just about any table..taller the better. Add some faux or real greenery, wire baskets, pots, gloves or anything garden-ish & boom done! :) I would try the Dollar Tree for the above things ;).

This was the simplest DIY ever..well actually basically like all of my post. You guys know I love a good practical & on the cheap DIY. The runner is from +Target  for $3 & pots are from the dollar store. That mason jar lamp is a DIY  if you're interested --->  Mason Jar Lamp Makeover & the wire baskets were both free finds.

You guys probably already know this about me, but I loveeee these vintage crocks! This is my whole collection with the exception of two others I'm using in other spots in the house. They were ALL free finds. I obviously used faux greenery from +IKEA USA  & +Michaels Stores . This table sits really high up, so I wanted something to fill the bottom & these just happen to work. This whole faux potting bench cost a whole $3 for the runner..everything else I had! I'm serious when I say I shuffle goods constantly in the house. Don't get me wrong there are times I have toooo, or just want to buy new decor goods & do, but  nothing that's insanely priced etc..

I switched out the ladder in our dining room a few weeks back for this -->DIY Farmhouse Tea Towel Art & just stuck the little ladder on this chippy frame gallery wall. I went to move it today to photograph & ended up loving it actually!! P.S. that wire basket is one of my absolute favorite free finds!!!

Yummiest smelling candle ever from +T.J.Maxx  . I wish it had a name on it though.. It was on sale for $8..I think I mentioned this in another post.

What do you think about having a faux little potting bench inside until the real spring arrives? I love the idea of the cheer it brings for spring & Easter!!! Wishing you all the best Tuesday wherever you are. Thanks again for stopping by my little practical blog.

{ Simple & Bright Easter Centerpiece Idea... }

Hey guys! I hope you all had a lovely weekend, ours was pretty uneventful & that's actually kind of refreshing in itself. I was just thinking about Easter last  night randomly & then got the itch to decorate..at like 11pm haha typical me...Anyways today I'm sharing this quick little tablescape I through together for some Easter cheer in our dining room! Everything I used for this table I had with the exception of the wood bunnies ;)!! It's no secret that I'm not really into decorating for the holidays unless it's Christmas related, but I thought this was something fresh until I break fully into spring { I've got big plans } , so stay tuned!

Tulips & sparkly eggs..Is there anything better for Easter?

Okay, this tablecloth...What a NIGHTMARE!!! So I'm decorating last night & decide it needs ironing..This thing WOULD NOT iron for the life of me..I wanted to use it so bad..so I just took what I had haha. It was my great grandpa's & I love the gold striping etc.!

The huge glass drink dispenser was a free find, and the wood bunny banner I got from the target dollar section.

I'm not digging the wall art -->Tea Towel Art Tutorial   paired with this tablescape, so that will be coming down soon once I start spring decor! P.S. that table will be getting some major TLC soon..:) :)!

I hope you guys liked this super cheery & bright table for Easter! I know it's kind of a short spur of the moment post, but If we're being honest I'm tired, my back/ hip are killer right now & it's been a heck of a last two weeks getting my husband's new business going/ managing the blog etc.. Okay, I'm done ranting hehe! Have a happy & healthy week everyone!

Thanks so much for popping in!

{ DIY Home Remedy for DRY Skin.. }

Hey everyone!! I hope Monday wasn't too bad to you! It's super frigid here in the north again & it's not only wreaking havoc on everyone mentally it seems, but also physically! Although we haven't had much snow it's been a really cold winter!! I want to start my saying I'm in noway an expert on facial cleansing/conditioning , but would like to share what works for me with you all. I'm one of those people who has severely dry skin to the point of peeling. I mean, I can remember even as a kid having dry skin..You can buy all the expensive serums, oils, spa treatments, but the only thing that has worked for me is what I call " Lotion Buffing"..I've been doing this since I was probably 13 year's old & love it! It's the simplest thing to do & cost next to nothing!!! Come see all about this little hidden gem & maybe it could work for you :)!!!!

Supplies:

  • Lotion of any type. I should mention that I usually only use coco butter lotion. It's natural, smells amazing & also tones the skin! I rotate between the oil, lotion & coco bar stick!
  • Fresh Washcloth

How To:

Start with a freshly washed faced! Then take a quarter size amount of lotion and run it on your face as usual. Then take some lotion on a clean washcloth & gently "buff" the rest of the impurities & dry skin away. I should say that if you have oily skin that this may not work in your favor. I turned my sister into a lover of this process within a week!!! She suffers from extremely dry skin around her nose & she's seen a 70% difference even after trying other items on the market from various beauty stores. All these coco butter products can be purchased at just about any department or drug store for under $7.

I really hope this little tip/ trick helps all of you suffering from that dry winter skin. I mean, if we're being completely honest here I should have acne from some other medical issues, but I don't. I'm not saying I never get blemishes, pimples, blackheads etc.. But other than dry/ redness my skin is like porcelain. I always say sometimes less is more. I wash my face with regular face/body soap in the shower, rinse with cool water & lotion buff. I'm also one of those people who sleep with makeup on sometimes { eeek }& in the morning ,or if I for some reason am running late I'll lotion buff for a quick refresh! It's never clogged my pores, but this is my skin... I hope it can help you in someway or another. Thanks so much for reading!!

{ Spring Coffee Table Inspiration }

It's Wednesday, but to me it feels like it should be like Friday..something about this week. We're having some snow dumped on us as I write this post & It's kind of confusing, yet isn't a shock for our crazy Michigan weather...My house decor screams SPRING, but our weather seems to be playing games haha. I thought since it's been a grey dreary day I'd share some spring coffee table inspiration..I mean spring is only like a month away if you didn't know! I know because it's March 20th..the best day { Our dear niece's birthday.. }!

I wanted to share the this coffee table not only for the decor today, but because it's getting a little face lift if you will..It's been used so much in our upper level living room that the top needs to be touched up etc.. I mean we're real people & we have two huge active dogs too , so lets just say it's time! I'm thinking it's time to get rid of this dark blue/gray graphite color too..Stay tuned who knows haha #typicalme

Most everything on this table were free finds minus the faux +IKEA USA  plant, Dollar Tree white candles & the decorative wood balls. The candle holders, vintage book, tray, flower pot & glasses were alll free.

Side Note: Yes, I know those glasses are dirty ha. I may have mentioned this before, but they were found by my husband while we were snorkeling the famous Torch Lake a few summers back.

I'm just thinking out loud, but I'm thinking I'll leave the base  color of the table this Annie Sloan chalk paint in "Old Ochre" & maybe paint the top black?... The table was also a free find. I hope you guys liked this little early spring table vignette!! Have a lovely day guys..I'm off to catch up on RHOBH & paint haha.
