{ Top 5 Areas to Organize in your Kitchen Simply }

Oh boy I can't believe I'm sharing these tips hahaha...I don't claim to be an "organizer" & actually Mark is soooo much better at organizing than me! I'm the cleaner & picker- upper , but he is the organizer for sure in our home! Well, since being down with my issues/ vertigo these last few months I had a lot of time to be in the house...I actually don't mind it but after all the events, some tragic like our dog passing etc.. I needed a fresh start to 2019 or as fresh as I could make it under the circumstances.. Our home is already pretty simple & organized & I'm just going to come out & say it, I CLEAN ALL THE TIME & enjoy it { I know, I'm crazy }, so that wasn't really an issue but there were spaces that we just let go or simply "tossed" items into, under or stuffed here & there ha. I had some free time & decided not only to paint our pantry { HERE } but also organize/ deep clean a few spaces & make them semi pretty! These are the most simple tips & I hope you enjoy them & you get inspired to declutter...the practical way... I didn't spend hundreds of dollars at the container  stores or have a personal organizer come in { not that it's wrong } , but I want to inspire EVERYONE, not just those who can spend a ton of money on projects!  Anyways, here are a few of my tips....

 Pantry

  • Use crates/ Bins
  • Pitch expired food
  • Organize snacks/ cans etc..
  • Use labels if needed
  • Pitch out half eaten food.

Under Sink

  • Wipe under the sink
  • Pitch almost empty cleaners / expired cleaners
  • Use clear jars for dishwasher pods { you can keep track of how many }
  • Organize cleaners
  • Keep minimal cleaning scrubbers/ supplies

Small Appliances/ Pans

  • Wipe clean
  • Store all together
  • wrap cords nicely
  • Pitch rusted pots/pans
  • Pitch peeling pans

Cabinets

  • Pitch old spices
  • Organize spices from oils/ sprays
  • Use containers
  • Pitch old or unused recipe books
  • Inspect glasses/ organize together types

Drawers/ Storage

"Storage/ maintenance closet aka the old dining room pantry "

  • Organize linens
  • Go through silverware / pitch old knives
  • Pitch mismatched items

I hope these quick & simple tips help you achieve a less cluttered, more functional home. Happy cleaning & organizing pals & if you have any tips for me PLEASE leave them below!!! I love hearing from you all!

{ DIY Painted Farmhouse Pantry Pt. 1 }

Happy snowy Friday pals!! Today's post is super short, spur of the moment & night photos...I mean this is my real life, so here's a for sure real life post ha. I'm laying here in bed typing this up real quick, waiting on a quiche to cook...@ 10pm #typical. Anyways I'm a bit dizzy again today { dang vertigo season} ,so again it's going to be a quick post. Two days ago I got the itch to paint our vintage pantry in our kitchen. I've went over this before, but we have two in our kitchen/ dining room. This pantry is the food one..it was originally black { Original DIY HERE } but I had some white paint & was actually feeling good ,so I did a thing...I PAINTED IT!! Down below I'm sharing the first glimpse!!

Before

After

I actually loved the black, but since our whole house "white wash" I've been eyeing this...I couldn't make my mind up but then just went for it!! I think it makes the space look larger & fresh for spring...The black however did make it look more vintageyyy... I mean the actual window is vintage along with the crates, but you know what I mean.

I still need to touch a few spots up, buy or paint some crates white & clean the glass....Oh & style it pretty bahaha.

What do you think about this new fresh paint job? Do you like the •before or after• better?

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Our Changing Home..

Hey pals & welcome back. So something weird happened this holiday season, actually a few months before that even... I noticed my "branded" style changing a bit. I've always been into the cottage farmhouse look & I still am, however since I've been drawn to this decor style since before it came trendy & maybe that's why it's changing a bit now. There's the big secret, MY STYLE IS CHANGING...not completely but a little teeny tiny bit. I hope you're okay with that. I also hope to bring some fresh content to the blog also. So, I know the next question I'll be getting is " what style are you gearing towards?" Well honestly still cottage but with a more vintage cabin feel & less " farmhouse". I've been drawn to the more vintage goods, rich wood tones & just classic pieces. I'm horrible at explaining but almost with a semi masculine feeling. I guess think old vintage men's office feel..haha I'm trying so hard to explain,but I think the pictures below will help...

I think I've also been craving this style to get me through our long winters here in Michigan. We just got 5 inches dumped on us & I'm not loving it. Before or during the holiday's sure but after just doesn't seem right hahaha.

The charming vintage pieces, warm tones & bigger cozier pieces are what I've been drawn to more of as of lately. I switched out our white slipcover & we added this chunky  handmade vintage coffee table. Come March it could all be white...life of Paige ha , I kid!!

This vintage toolbox draws into the same kinda wood as the coffee table for this living room decor.

I think this little spot really depicts what I tried explaining in the intro about the style "change". Still cozy, wintery/ rustic & more vintage masculine. The trees seen better days but I love keeping our bare tree up throughout winter..

I hope you guys liked this peek into something I've been meaning to share. Nothing big but I always like to keep you guys in the loop here on the blog. Has your style evolved or anything similar? What styles are you drawn to the most? Let me know in the comments!!

Happiest Monday!

{ Meet our New Rescue, SWARTZ! }

Hey pals!! Happy Monday...I'm actually sitting here in bed with the cold fresh winter air coming in through our window while snuggled in bed! The house is fresh for Monday, animals fed, laundry done & grocery shopping completed. I tried to keep busy but also rest this weekend because I got some more concerning blood work back...worse than the elevated hemoglobin. This time I have "immature granulocytes" present in my blood currently. I won't go into detail but it's not supposed to be in your blood  at all..{ feel free to look it up}. Hoping it's just my inflammation response from my issues going on & not the alternative. Anyways, something that always keeps me smiling & content are our rescues.. I thought today would be the perfect timing introduce you to Swartz, our new baby rescue!!! Our diy & projects slow here in Michigan during the cold months, so I like to intertwine rescue things into my home post, since those are the two things I brand myself on. Come meet this adorable nugget below...

• Side Note: See our other rescues HERE

Anyways I'm off to play with my new froggy toy! Thanks for stopping in pals...I hope you'll choose adopting rather than shopping for animals. My friends need homes sooo bad & would love to get out of the filled shelters. Remember: " Rescued is the BEST Breed !"

{ Simply Fresh Winter Dining Room }

Hey pals happy Wednesday!! I hope your mid week is treating you well! Mine started out great getting some work completed, gabbing with some employees & enjoying our first real snow fall here in Michigan. But like most things, nothing is perfect & by that I mean I got a phone call with my doctor with my lab blood work back...Some okay, some bad & some confusing..I explained briefly on my IG stories about my hemoglobin being elevated a bit..I've made a conscious effort to respect my health, both mind & body this last year, so I'm trying not to worry. I popped some music on & restyled our dining room for winter..& kinda spring..Since our Michigan weather has been crazyyyyy..no surprise there! Anyways I added a new dark cozy green cabin-ish rug & tons of vintage masons + greens...Take a closer peek pals...

I'm obsessed with the layering going on in the dining room. It feels bright but wintery!!! This mason jar print was my inspiration!! Simple, vintagey & classic!!  HomeGoods for the win for under $20.

I've been collecting mason jars for years..I mean all the way to Maine & back. I have a mix of old & new on this old tarnished cake stand as the simple centerpiece. Green runner & copper candles & voila done.

I don't know why, but these wrinkled linen fresh white napkins gave me all the cozy feels. 12 for $16 at HomeGoods.

Side Note: I wish I would have taken the leaf out, because those table lines are killing me ha. Ocd problems ya'll.

Creamy white milk jar masons & a cute piggy..I swear some of my finds are soo random. Random but always thrifty.

Cozy & simple my 2019 approach to everything. How did you like this bright & fresh dining room? Thanks for popping in & sharing my creative yet simple ideas. You all are too good to me.
