{ Refreshing Winter Dining Room Decor }

Happy Friday pals!! This vacation week has flown by...Like where does time go?! I can't believe Christmas is over too, not enough t i m e!! I feel like this year's holiday season has been a wash. From being sick for 3.5 weeks two which were nearly immobile, accidents, etc.. I got maybe a week of cozy magic in. This leads me to today's post..WINTER DECOR!! Now, before I get nasty emails, I always start Christmas decor November 1st & take down Jan 1st. This year since our holiday season wasn't the best, I took the Christmas decor down the 26th. I needed a fresh start so I transitioned from Christmas to fresh winter decor. For some reason I crave fresh greens, ticking stripe goods, whites, creams & warm textured items.  Today I'm sharing a little cozy corner in our dining room I styled...I got the piece just before Christmas & was going to paint it, but loved the rich tones especially since it matches our barn door across the way in the dining room. I styled it with some of my favorite dishes & added a chippy white mantel. Come see more below...

The warmth this little rickety homemade piece of furniture adds so much charm to our dining space. The cozy vintage inspired dishes, ticking stripe cloths & white dishware complete these old shelves.

"Sunday Specials". Kate Spade dishes from @homegoods .

I love pine trees, so winter decor is right up my alley. My mom dropped off this adorable little white vase with a simple painted pine tree & well it fit perfectly here.

I needed a bit of heights to this area, so I layered an old white chippy shelf I had. I set a bronzed pig bank from @potterybarn up there along with a cozy little lamp, faux baked goods etc..

Although all our Christmas decor is put away, the bare pine trees will stay up until February-ish..

What do you think about this "after" Christmas winter decor? Do you decorate for winter or even like winter decor? I sure do, & it can be so refreshing.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

{ Classic Christmas Vintage Bedroom }

Hi, pals. Welcome back to TQS! I'm sorry I've been so sporadic this season..I haven't even posted our Christmas Home Tour..who am I? Ugh! A big U G H! Today our family lost the most beloved & best dog ever & our oldest rescue in the house..Miss Stinker our 2012 city rescue passed away in her sleep. I don't know how life got so sad but my heart is so broken I can barely keep it together in my mind & body these days. It has been a heck of a year.. Sick with vertigo for weeks on end, my brand new Jeep hit & run, my beloved pet..business etc.. I mean the list goes on. I miss her so much already & just wan to lay in bed & snuggle her like the old days. She was more than a dog but my child. I want to share our Christmas bedroom in honor of miss Stinker because well she was rescued on 12.22.12 & passed on 12.22.18..Crazy right?! She loved to snuggle & I always called her my Christmas miracle, so today is dedicated to her until she gets her full own post which will be coming soon!! Hope you love this cozy space...

The pillows were the going theme this year for the bedroom. I didn't have time to really buy stuff for this space, so I used what  I had. I did know that I wanted a bold vibrant vintage classic Christmas look. The festive reds, whimsical old fashion tree lot lights, & lots of classic touches.. These pillows I got in a pack of 2 for $11 at Walmart a few years back!

I really wanted to showcase the Country Living red plaid sheets I picked up for $30, but I was was just too drained to iron them..So here's a sneak peek hahaha..Hey I'm REAL LIFE Paige over here haha. #comfiestsheetsever

I kept the nightstands simple with wood lamps, red candles & some rustic tin cottage houses! I stuck some berries in the wall sconces to follow through with the upstairs theme this year!

I had some of these classic ultra simple stockings laying around so I hung two for Mark & I. I used some more berry greenery & left our white vintage string lights up..This is my favorite part of this Christmas bedroom just because at night it's truly so magical & whimsical!

I added the vintage watering can to tie into the nightstand tin houses & wall decor on both sides of the bed. The wicker texture basket pulls the same wood tones from the lamps. Cozy goodness, but sooo simple & thrifty!

I hope you loved this space. I'm so bummed Christmas is so close & I only got to showcase bits & pieces..I will still put together a Christmas Home Tour for future inspiration...I just hope you loved some of our decor this year. Time passed by so quick & being sick unable to move much for 2 weeks was a real downer, not to mention the recent events!

HAPPY SUNDAY!

{ Festive Cottage Christmas Family Room Glimpse }

Hey pals & welcome back to the blog! I wanted to quickly pop on here today & share some snippets of the upstairs family or living room...What do you call it? We call the downstairs "living room" & upstairs "family room" ha..Okay anyways as you know I've been sick for a month now..I'll' explain what is going on in depth once I see the doctor again in January for my full blood panel. It's been a heck of a rough month dealing with this dizziness which I hope is just an inner ear problem & hoping my kidney's etc.. are working great! Last night { Saturday} we were supposed to go on our annual trip up to Frankenmuth, MI but again I was too under the weather. Instead we decided to get my niece for cheese pizza, popcorn & a Home Alone marathon! While we were cozying in it dawned on me that I never showed our upstairs family room for Christmas..I shared a few pictures via social media but not a post here on the blog. I'm going to be completely honest these aren't the best pictures, but they're real & just a few to give you an idea. I will be sharing our full  Christmas Home Tour in the next few days! I hope you love this simple & quick glimpse into out Christmas family room...Enjoy!!!!

Even though I feel like I've missed out on a lot this season, I'm still so thankful for this simple view. The new cottage windows, white paint, simple red berries & homemade wood ornaments make this the coziest space upstairs..I mean I try to make every space cozy but you get it ha!

This is one of those spaces I styled & haven't blogged yet..It's festive, super simple & goes with my theme this year- festive red berry stems, greenery & the occasional ticking stripe pattern!

This is the setup from our Christmas card photoshoot this year! I loved the look & we had nice bright light that day, so I snapped some pictures. I also wanted to incorporate the baby's First Christmas outfit in the photo haha. I picked this Christmas onsie up at Five Below & well him being a puppy he wore it for the pictures & then wiggled out of it ha

This little table I just added the same goods & I love how it turned out. It's super rustic but old cottage Christmas & super charming! It's also a bonus the dogs can't destroy it ha!

I hope you guys liked this quick post! I'm sorry it wasn't longer or the best pictures but I'm doing my best to get better while still doing business stuff & just ENJOY this special time of the year!! What was your theme this year? Let me know in the comments!
P.S. Christmas Home Tour, soon so stick around!

Happy Monday!

{ Cozy Cottage Christmas Kitchen Window Decor }

Happy Wednesday pals!! It is only the middle of the week & it's been a doozy already!!! This has been a really hard year & the ending seems even harder. From health to my brand new Jeep being vandalized to business stuff etc.. One thing I always do when I'm stressed is clean & add charm to our little cottage...Our kitchen window isn't big or fancy by any means, but I didn't want that to detour me from decorating it since it's next to our cozy coffee/ tea/ cocoa bar. I added some cute simple items under our thriving Lemon Button Fern & it made alll the difference. Come see a quick look below!!
* Side Note: sorry about the quality I used my phone for this post, hope you don't mind.

Nothing fancy or staged, just some coffee cups, festive Christmas cup warmers, & a jar filled with yummy seasonal K-cups. Looking at this picture makes me want a Christmas mug for this space haha..

The thing that made this space was the Magnolia Home Hearth and Hand wallpaper backsplash we did back in the spring. I was sooo excited to debut it for Christmas!!
● See DIY Backsplash HERE

I got this sign at the Target "dollar spot" for $3. The mini lanterns & mini rustic trees were all hand me downs. They fit perfectly on this little ledge & the lanterns at night look so cute lit up. Anddd can we take a moment to see a REAL live plant is still kicking over 6 months later in our house haha..WIN!

I hope you liked this quick, not planned post. I'm laying here in bed finishing this & thinking sometimes the unplanned is the best...which is hard for a type A like myself. Anyways hope you enjoyed. Do you decorate around your kitchen window?? I think I need lights...hmmm.

Happy Wednesday!

{ Cheery Rustic Cottage Christmas Plate Hutch }

Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was full of holiday cheer. We mostly  napped, ate & napped more. I still am under the weather 3 weeks later & it looks like I'll be bringing in the new year going to doctor visits...I'm still trying to enjoy the holiday's just within our little cottage though. I got antsy ,so I styled our rustic wood plate hutch in the dining room. You see decorating & blogging not only is my business but a release for me. Decorating this area with some new/ old items took my mind off not feeling well.. Come see more below...

This is probably the most simple but MOST cheery little area in our kitchen. I used vintage glass items we've collected & some simple berries & greenery.

I don't get to use red often in our home but I love that at Christmas I can bust out all our treasures with red, like this little glass milk jug.

I pulled out some of our dishes we've collected & filled this little bakery cloche with some yummy baked good themed candles for looks.

Okay, finally the little item that got this whole plate hutch decor idea..This chocolate wafer container that I was going to throw out. I looked at it & thought it had that " old fashion Christmas" appeal & popped some greens in it. I'm bummed because right after I photographed this space I found the perfect item to add..I'll share on my Instagram, so be sure to follow.

Last minute I added this red ticking stripe tea towel. I always seem to do that..Photograph then find what I was looking for!!!

This is one of my favorite collected items. It fit perfectly in this space & works nicely for gatherings haha.

This hutch adds so much charm to our dining/ kitchen area. It also adds tons of dishware storage...mostly dessert dishes, vintage sets etc..

HAPPY MONDAY!

I hope you loved this display. Wishing you a wonder cozy fresh, and healthy week.

{ Winter Wonderland Christmas Cottage Basement }

Happy Friday pals! I don't know what it is about Thursday's these days but I'm DISLIKING them real bad these days!!! Three Thursday's in a row now that have went south real quick...eeek. I got sick on Thanksgiving, last Thursday a business issue & now yesterday one of our trucks wouldn't take the cold  #diesels & I had to miss my doctor appointment which was crucial...Something I've realized about having a bunch of stuff going on lately is that I just let things slide..I must be getting old haha..Instead of freaking out today & just simple herded all the dogs downstairs, lit some candles down in our lower level {basement } & put a bunch of movies on, edited for the blog, chatted with my sister,  & while the dogs napped I made some fresh chili & if I may say so it was DELISH!
Today I wanted to share our lower level with you guys all sparkly & whimsical at night!!! I know night...what? It's going to be dark, nope..we get decent light down here & it just looked so cozy tonight not to break out my camera & photograph some pictures for you guys with all the trees lit up! I did have to improvise on something though...Come read more down below!
 *This post is Picture Heavy.

I usually always do color down here since the upstairs is always neutral because well that's been my style since long ago. I realized this Christmas that I was doing it ALL wrong haha. I realized the lower level should be all white, woods & neutral because the light is funky down here & the upstairs splash with Christmas color. I know everyone is into all neutral Christmas decor, but again since when do I follow the crowd haha.

I added the vintage pane I had laying around to add to the more modern fireplace. The white snowy stems I also had & I just added some vintage treasure I picked up at various barns etc..

If you've been following me for sometime you would know I FINALLY switched out the coffee table after 4 years...That has to be some record for me lol. I switch things out left & right but for some reason didn't find anything I liked until I looked right under my nose in my "stash" haha. Shop the house is my motto.

I also had to get very crafty with this space because I had to unfortunately toss the huge white layered WHITE fleece rug. The puppy slipped under the dining room barn door & got downstairs, and well he had accidents all over it & I'm too much of a clean freak, so it got tossed. I forgive him but I got crafty & used a scrap blanket for that added snowy cozy texture under the table & vintage wood crate. I actually love it more no joke.

It's extra cozy with the fireplace on & the white flocked trees. Although this space needs new paint & carpet or maybe wood it's still cozy, clean & we love it for entertaining.

P.S. I might show the dining area down here for Christmas too.. Are you interested?? Let me know in the comments!

The sparkles, vintage tobacco smell & Christmas lights have my soul so sound & warm..Enjoy the small things in life instead of needing more & more. Work for more but be grateful too... Sorry to get sappy on you guys, but it's been a rough year.

I layered banners for that whimsical magical feel. They are from Pottery Barn & HomeGoods a few years back.

These pillows I reused from our bedroom last year HERE  . I got them both for $10 at Walmart.

-MERRY CHRISTMAS-

I hope you guys loved this lodge Christmas Cottage Wonderland. It holds some sentimental pieces my mom made for us like that fire etched moose & the sign over the TV. Lots of memories, laughs & tons of holidays down here. Who knew a simple basement could be so cozy?!

HAPPY FRIYAYYY!!
