{ Modern Winter Cottage Mantel }

 Over the last few days I've moved, added pieces & decluttered nearly the whole house! Still some to go, but it feels nice...I ended up relocating our chippy white fireplace to a different wall to begin with.. Backup to a few weeks ago & my mom came across this old street sign that had quite the wear & patina on it..I kind of honestly just set it aside & then rediscovered it after Christmas! It's kind of out of my design element, but that's exactly what I needed for this wintery mantel look... Come see more below!

I wanted something fresh, vintage, wintery & { gasp }modern! I think I accomplished that with this winter cottage mantel..somehow ha! You see this mantel kinda just created itself..I set all the pinecone ornaments on the mantel while taking the trees down & filled this bucket that overflowed....into a beautiful mess ha!

The brass accents, beadboard, vintage radio & stool all add vintage charm & the sign a pop of eclectic color & ambiance.

This wintery pile of pinecones & mixed vanilla +almond candles smell so yummy!

The rustic dented weathered look is what I actually love about it! I opted to hang it with three 3M sticks instead of nails to preserve the beadboard, since the sign is temporary!

I hope you loved this different vintage eclectic  winter mantel..It was fun, creative & I adore the coziness for the long snowy months up here in Michigan! This could easily be reproduced & the thrifty way..
•Do you have any special signs you love or have displayed in your home?

HAPPY Wednesday!

{ Whimsical Winter Dining Cabinet }

 Happy few days after Christmas! I started & finished taking everything down yesterday..minus the lower level which is lodgey moody decor { more on that later }. After I took what Christmas specific down we had, we ended up giving the laundry room a makeover { coming soon }! Well, in the middle of all this we ended up pulling a piece out we've had forever but have never showcased on here!!! HOW?! These are all my questions too ha! Anyways it's awesome & huge...Come see more below!

It speaks for itself, but honestly It's more impressive in person!! Can you believe we've had this solid wood handmade piece from Mexico for almost 10 years? I can't believe we're just now showcasing its bold beauty! Its bottom drawers add that much more charm..

The perfect breakfast of freezer burnt pancakes, frost bit blueberries & zero syrup hahaha! What can I say, I keep it honest on here...This was a beautiful photoshoot though! After the puppies got pancakes & then smashed blueberries into mommy's rug....eek!
• The mug is vintage from Japan!

I kept all my dishes I've collected & stored them in these deep shelve & kept it warm but still wintery with a bit of whimsical charm like  Cypress & wreathes.

Frosted wreaths, plain evergreens, whimsical lights & fresh linens complete this space! This space has totally transformed in the last few days & months!

I had to snap & use this shot!! Swartz the "wart" eyeing the pancakes he got minutes later...Ha all in a days work!
Hope you enjoyed this new { old } piece. Although it's not real antique & was free, it's still a favorite of mine!
What's your favorite furniture piece you have?

HAPPY Monday!

{ Classic Christmas Housewalk }

 Whoa I can't believe Christmas Eve is already here! Honestly, I look forward to November/ December every year & the anticipation leading up to Christmas is the best!! I think I actually enjoy Christmas Eve the most! This year I feel like I slacked..Lot's has been going on behind the scenes..I can't wait to share! I also physically with the fibromyalgia/ vertigo...This season just came so quick, but before it slips away I wanted to share our 2020 Christmas Housewalk with you all.. it's going to be short winded because I'm literally in the bath with a Christmas candle burning away....Then it's time to head to my grandma's ♡.

•Porch•

Classic ski lodge with lots of woods, greens & a few cozy pillows! This was by far other than last years porch was my favorite!!

•Living Room•

The living room I wanted a glitzy vintage cottage look.  With the flocked trees sporting vintage gold beads, pinecones & warm lights only..The oranges & brown rug & lots of gold whimsical charm & chalkboards!

•Dining Room•

I wanted the living room to flow nicely with the dining room as they're close..So again with the classic Christmas look..Dark forest green rug, fresh real evergreen wreath & lots of huge fragrant naval oranges! A big green cottage sign & flocked lit garland completes this space!

•Kitchen•

Classic items we use mixed with green & browns flowing from the dining room..

•Bedroom•

The bedroom also keeping with the look of a classic vintage Christmas..lots of fresh Cypress greens, antique chandy & lots of cream & black check with burlap. The fireplace was my biggest inspo & the first year we used fresh greens in here!

•Basement Family Room•

This is our biggest used space, especially when hosting! This is the first year we won't be hosting in 12 years!!! I went with a vintage Ireland town down here with lots of patina, chippy green & blue ticking stripe.

That completes our 2020 CHRISTMAS HOUSEWALK 🎄.  I REALLY THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE. HERE'S TO A HAPPY + HEALTHY HOLIDAY.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

{ DIY Festive Christmas Card Display }

 Well, since its only a few days until Christmas { It went too fast } I thought I'd share a simple, but oh so cozy DIY for all those wonderful Christmas cards you receive each year! I don't know about you, but I sure love seeing everyone's yearly card or family photos! I've always loved stationary & photography so this is right up my alley ha. Each year I always wonder what to do with all our cards from friends & family, especially the out of state special ones..Well, this year I came up with the perfect easy & festive way to display them all in one area! Come see this simple DIY CHRISTMAS CARD DISPLAY below....

Did you guess it right?? If you guessed a vintage toboggan, you'd be absolutely correct! We've had this vintage huge wood toboggan for years & every year I love to display it! It's antique, so it only comes out around Christmas & this year it served as a DIY!!

HOW TO:
Stand the toboggan up & secure if you have children etc.. Place the cards staggered across the wood ledges! Ours had no problem just leaning on the slats. If the cards fall, use a bit of tape on the backsides.

ITEMS:
  • Toboggan
  • Cards
  • Greenery
  • Any decor of your choice

I can remember as a kid my mom always taping our Christmas cards around our square kitchen entrance & we'd always see if we could fully fill the arch!!

I strictly used our Christmas card photoshoots from previous years, because I didn't want to invade family +friends privacy, especially with photos of their children.
It was so fun to see all the years of Christmas cards we've shot...Oh & my ever-changing hair color ha.

One card is missing from our collage { this year's 2020 } but you can see our 2020 Christmas photoshoot

I used a vintage red & white enamel pot with some faux snowballs, lots of greens & warm white  Christmas lights..

I hope you loved this idea to display cards!! Do you send out cards or display the ones you get? Let me know some different ways in the comments!

HAPPY Friday!
