{ Cozy Vintage Autumn Fireplace Mantel }

We're getting there pals haha! I know, I know it's only Tuesday, but I can't help but be in a good mood this week since it's our 9 year wedding anniversary {9.26.09 }! I think I might be doing a post if the weather holds up for what we will be doing. I'm looking forward to some time together but today I wanted to share our fireplace mantel!! With the summer home spruce up I didn't have time to do much with this area but I do love the whimsical vintage feel this area gives! I just shopped our house for a few simple statement pieces & well it's definitely cozy! I mentioned via yesterday's posts  HERE that I had some "me" time Saturday morning while styling this space & today I'm here to share with my pals...

I kept the mantel simple & honestly kind of like last year's because I loved it so much! Sweet little neutral pumpkins, some whimsical lights, vintage barrels & some new $10 green plaid pillows paired with a chippy green stool!

I didn't really have a plan for this area other than to flow nicely with the living room area & that it does! Nothing super fancy or overboard just festive & charming, which is my basic goal with every space ha!

I spotted these little green plaid pillows at Target dollar spot & snatched the last two up..They fit perfect in this space & added some pattern & warmth to this little cottage fireplace! I can't wait to turn it on & enjoy some hot beverages!!

Sorry this post was short, but sometimes I don't need to shoot tons of pics..The basic shots do the decor justice & get my vision across to you guys in hopes of inspiring cozy & practically! Thanks for popping back in today for our humble mantel display, I hope you enjoyed it!

Happy Tuesday!

{ Neutral Fall Vintage Cottage Living Room }

Hey pals & happy Monday! Hoping it's being good to you all! I'm going to keep this post sweet & simple since sitting here at my computer is killing my back...We had a wonderful & super cozy productive weekend with lots of memories! Something about the fall brings out the best in me...I don't know if it's the crisp refreshing air, beautiful scenery or the yummy treats but it sure does me good! We got some photo's done which was fun in itself, planned a mini getaway for our 9 year anniversary this week, enjoyed the weather & Sunday spent the day with our best friend at his pretty property, riding quads & snugging his new fur baby! Rewind back to Saturday morning while letting Spark sleep in. I snuck out in the living room & spruced it up for fall while enjoying my vanilla  cookie cappuccino. Well, I'm ready for you all to see this super simple fall harvest living room of ours!!! Come read more below....

This space came  together pretty simply & thrifty! I knew what I wanted the upper level living room to look like & feel like..NEUTRAL & WARM! I know that seems like two different spectrum but I wanted it to be all cream, greens & lots of warm orangey/tans. I forgot when I went into my fall decor stockpile that I had picked up some wheat grass at the end of the season last year & basically that paved the way for this look. Super cozy with lots of texture, throws & vintage wood touches! This is my h a p p y fall right here!

This tray & greenery are from HomeGoods & the clock/ bottles are vintage..Put a little white pumpkin on it & voila!

I wish you all could smell the cozy vanilla spiced pumpkin candles burning in here..So cozy with the fall breeze cooling the house. I kept the pumpkins simple with small neutral ones mixed with some gourds...nothing too crazy!

This little white vintage stool has personal sentimental meaning to me. I got it once my gram made her move out of her home of 50 years. I love it!

I had to get a few shots in of the new { old } vintage linen closet!!! I'll do a full post soon, but you guys I love it! It ads so much charm to this area..

I was hesitant about posting with the unfinished chandy but hey it is what it is & I love the pops of fall-ish green! I'm learning to love the process..even though I'm super ocd & inpatient.

Okay, I hope you all loved this cozy fall retreat! I'm off to drink a gallon of cider & nurse this sore shoulder..What are your favorite colors to use in your home?

Happy Monday!

{ Market Fresh Fall Porch Decor }

Tuesday's you're upping your game lately! Hey pals!!! Anyone else feel like Tuesday's are sometimes worse than Monday's? I'm bringing in this Tuesday with something bright & fun to hopefully set the mood for the rest of the week! I got to spend sometime out front of our little cottage to snap some photos for this post & mostly just hurry & get the mums photographed before they die on me. I have faith this year I'm going to keep them alive...shoot I need to water them today ha..only me! I stepped outside my comfort zone & added blue gourds!! I usually always go with bold orange & greens outside for that authentic look, but this year I wanted a market style look with fresh mums & pumpkins & to my surprise I LOVE IT! Anyways come take a peek at our cute little country market inspired display!!

It all started with that rustic galvanized basket my mom dropped off! I had bought some pillows from HomeGoods but later returned them because it looked to Eastery. I wanted to incorporate the blue pumpkins & like always had an idea in my head but it just wasn't working...Fast forward a few days later & I found that "welcome' tobacco basket & modified it with some white paint. I then added everything else for this little " market inspired porch".

The pumpkins are all faux & we do this for a reason every year! I'll explain why in a later post. All the gourds & pumpkins were purchased at HomeGoods or Michaels. They can get expensive & so I wait for sale days etc..They hold up pretty well even after years of being outside for fall time. Little investment & they're so versatile!

The rug is also from HomeGoods & it's just a standard jute with some specs of grey to pull from the tobacco basket above the chippy white bench!

Side Note: I need a new piece of furniture for this space..I'll share what we're thinking in a future post!

After  I returned the original set of pillows I didn't know what I really needed or wanted to finish this space but after spotting the cream / green stripe pillow & then the Veggie one I decided this is exactly what I needed to finish this space! I always like to share where & what I'm thinking wit my processes...hopefully they can help you guys!  Blogging looks so simple & glamorous, but I promise a lot of time, deadlines & preparation go into our content!

The mums we got at a local stand for $7.99 each..STEAL! I went with yellow & regretted it & then loved them again...hahaha

What do you think about our little cottage porch all decorated out for fall? Do you decorate with mums etc.. for fall or just regular pumpkins? THANKS for taking the time to pop in on my little practical home blog.

HAPPY TUESDAY

{ Rustic Whimsical Fall Harvest Tablescape }

Happy Monday sweet pals!! It's definitely a Monday around here ha. I had to run some errands & edit a few things & while walking into my office I noticed a cord completely demolished by the mischievous Mr. Wibble my office mascot { lionhead BUNNY }. I almost had a total freak out & then remembered why I don't EVER leave things plugged in ha...Such a scare! Anyways back to today's post..I woke up on Sunday morning refreshed after having a long weekend of inspiration from within, no company or friends over { rare for us } & decided to sip mint hot chocolate & stage a full on whimsical fall harvest scene in the dining room...I tell you guys this all the time, but although I'm OCD, I usually do things on a whim & well this is one of those times. I knew right from the start what I wanted out of this space for this shoot, which is rare usually. It all stemmed from some leftover walnuts that needed to be used...I wanted it to look vintage with a touch of whimsical charm with a huge Fall harvest dinner in mind. I'm going to stop trying to explain & just let you take a look down below...

I'm usually not all about formal-ish settings, but whenever I get to use my grams' old vintage scalloped gold rimmed dishes I DO! I used some fancy { to us } silverware, green plaid napkins & just things I wanted to display! I wanted it to feel cozy fall with just tans, deep dark greens & black mixed in with all the rustic wood tones! I used old amber soda bottles for the drinks etc.. Whimsical charm g a l o r e!

This is my most favorite shot from the shoot! It entails exactly what I was going for in this dining room scene. Nothing is perfect & everything is cozy whimsical fall! P.s. the walnuts are still out, but I'm sure the dogs will help with putting them away soon..haha eek!

The biggest change was adding this chalkboard in the dining room! I got it for free after someone pitched it & just chalk-painted the frame part.
 FTR: Everything in this space I already had, leaving this whole shoot for free!! How cool is that?!

Edit- The greenery is new $10 @hobbylobby

Since this is a harvest style dining room look, I wanted to incorporate some pumpkins! This little wall is super rustic now & fits right in!

We just added those iron hooks from a salvaged  coat rack & I think I should blog them soon! I forget half the stuff we do & think it's too small to blog but a few of you have reached out asking for more stuff like that, so YES to that!

I truly hope you felt like our guest at this whimsical fall harvest table of ours! Thanks soo much for stopping by today & sharing our posts & following via all our social media outlets! My little practical blog is growing THANKS to you ALL!

Happy Monday

{ Neutral Fall Dining Room Cabinet Decor }

Happy Monday, Pals!! I hope your weekend was amazing in every way possible. Ours was everything cozy fall & the weather was a perfect 65 & breezy! We took advantage of it & went junking at a local flea market, ate sweets, napped & laughed our behinds off! Something about fall always brings out the best in everything at least for me ha! I got really inspired after a few days of feeling blah, so I wanted to share our corner dining room cabinet decorated for fall with some simple & super neutral touches! I didn't plan on this but I'm obsessed with how it came out especially for the season!! Come see the full post below...

My sister described this as "Alice in Wonderland" meets a cozy cottage haha. I think I would have to agree with her. My style is pretty distinct & that's one thing I always try to do is add a bit of whimsical with the cozy rustic cottage feel.! The dusty lambs ear greenery & wood branches give a nice soft fall feel!

I'll be sharing more of this space & dining room wall once I photograph everything! I love the fresh white especially paired with the fall decor so far! Come fall here in Michigan we need all the light we can get, so the white wash helps!

I used things I had laying around the house just playing with decor & I actually loved this & decided to shoot it for the blog. I swear sometimes it's the most random times or things that inspire me...

I always say I'm going to get rid of this cabinet, but truth is I really love it & have a sentimental attachment...I guess when the time is right another piece I love better will pop up!! I hope you guys loved this super SIMPLE post...Sorry it's not more in depth...but most my post are simple & hope you guys like that about my practical & hopefully inspiring little home blog!!

 Happy Monday!
