{ Cottage Spring Cabinet Vignette }

The other day I walked in from a job & went to town cleaning our house & sprucing up spots I've neglected with the same pieces for a while now...Well awhile in Paige time for decor ha. One of the spaces was my favorite cabinet in our upper living room. It was a free thrifty find & I  made it over HERE . Well, I kind if stopped styling parts of it & that changed the other day. I guess because it's such a statement piece, I don't think I have to style it differently a lot but it needed a change ha!  I  simply added some vintage touches, spring decor & of course some flowers + greenery.. REAL greenery to boast hahaha. Come see the cozy refreshed vignette below...

Since this cabinet is the backdrop to the new vintage chairs HERE I wanted to add in some the same gingham green & cream cottage print with these pillows!! I snagged them last fall for $5 each.

I talked about this metal piece a few posts back but one of our friends { Dan } gave it to me. It's handmade & at first I didn't know what to do with it but I love it.

The perfect cozy spring reading spot. The chairs, pillows, soft throw & fresh cabinet.

I hope you enjoyed this fresh space. I wasn't going to blog today because I got some not so great test results back & frankly I'm sad & worried but as you know blogging isn't only my job but outlet. Thanks for sticking around here for inspiration  & supporting me in more ways than you know.

Happy Wednesday!

{ Fresh Spring Window Decor}

What a day pals..I'm exhausted, actually past exhausted. I photographed like 5 different areas since it was finally sunny here in the north, washed rugs, cleaned, worked, cooked, unpacked boxes, staged etc... You name it, I did it!! So rewind to a couple weeks & I got a new hanging plant for our kitchen window! I've had the same one for nearly a year { RECORD time for me} but it had to be moved to spruce it up a bit from winter. While I was at Meijers I picked up an Ivy....I originally was going to get another Lemon Button Fern, but they were out. I don't know why I always seem to get plants at Meijers, I guess I'm just classy like that HA! Anyways Ivy plants are natural air purifiers, like most plants so I brought him home. Come see more below.....

Bright, clean & cozy!! I don't know why, but I love have a fresh kitchen window with plants, soaps & soft tea towels!

When my grandmother moved out of her house of 56 years I snagged some of the treasures. This was my grandpa's & I love it. I never used it in decor but while rummaging today I found it!

This little plant is still going too. I'm not sure what it is, but my sister gave it to me about 6 months ago..3 living plants in my house?? NOWAY!  Like who am I hehe! This little buddy sucks up soo much water...I've been meaning to get my plants Miracle Grow.

I love the look of the Mrs Meyers soaps, but I think that love has sailed. I'm not that into the scents anymore & the soaps really dry my hands...which is ironic with the natural elements. Hmmm

Such a pretty plant...pray for him ha!

What's your favorite plants to keep in your home? Do you like a fresh kitchen window for your greenery..I know it brightens my day. The simplest items can have the biggest effect sometimes. Anyways thanks for popping in today, I truly appreciate it.

HAPPY TUESDAY!

{ Simple DIY Backdoor Drop Zone for Spring! }

Happy Sunday & early Monday!! I can't believe this weekend is already over with, like where does the time go these days?! It's been an exceptional weekend for us even though the Michigan weather has been brutal. We put our three day weekend to good use & redid my bathroom!! Grabbed some things on Friday night with my sister, pizza's, music & all 3 of us got to work..Well, mostly Mark & I but my sister kept the pups busy since they kept playing in the fresh paint..ha. We were up until 5am two nights in a row but loved every minute of the cozy winter night in...Until we got stir crazy & spontaneously hopped in the Jeep at 10pm & headed into the city with a friend for a night out!! Busy, but also rewarding weekends are the best! Okay, so I couldn't photograph the bathroom & diy today but I wanted to share our new backdoor & a mini drop zone!!

I love this sign!! I picked it up back in November & I love it wasn't mass produced etc.. It leads down to our lower level "cabin" style family room, so it fit perfectly!

The barn door, simple rustic coat rack & French style door add a little charm the this otherwise blah drop zone. With two dogs & many muddy paws we need this area!! To the right is a vintage show rack, storage containers, towels & of course a little decor ha!

Not the most exciting area, but again much needed. This chippy white bench was perfect for this area. It is a little space & you probably are wondering how we can get in, well the picture is a tad deceiving. It's simple, the bench is small & we have two back entrances! I've neglected this area for quite sometime, so it needed a spruce up.
▪ The coat rack I picked up on sale for $10!!

Until we move, I have a fun DIY coming for this area, I can't wait to show you!!

I hope you loved this much needed drop area. The next house needs a mudroom with these two crazy pups haha, but for now I made it work.

Happy Monday!

{ Cozy Classic Kitchen Decor }

Monday's come so fast these days I swear..After the coziest weekend I'm looking to take the week on or at least I think ha. While cleaning & tidying up the house I was trying to decorate more for spring, but I'm just in a weird decor space...which is so unlike me. I'm usually ready to switch decor up at the drop of a hat but this year I just seem to pick a theme or get inspired!! After vacuuming & drinking copious amounts of chai latte in the dining room  { new vacuum super exciting adult things} ha I decided instead of trying to decide how I want spring decor to look instantly I decided to style the kitchen cozy & classically with some vintage kitchen collections.

I took many of my neutral collections like glass bottles, canisters, vintage recipe books etc.. & styled them on this shelf. I love the look like in the old days where cottages & farmhouses had their kitchen essentials & tools out on display.

I have a bunch of vintage cookbooks & recipe cards, but this Betty Crocker home cooking magazine is one of my favorites. It's simple, delicious & charming.

I kept this whole cabinet the same other than the mason jar canisters with farm labels & these vintage brown bottles we've collected.

Of course even though I'm stuck with spring decor, I had to bring a few flowers & texture with this simple basket & white stems placed on my papa's vintage stool.

Like a lot of my "treasures" most are authentic vintage & these rolling pins are exactly that!! They're my late great grandpa's & I love displaying them.

I always have this white vintage apron hanging too which was also my papa's from his old restaurant. I stuck a few faux plants in this are for cohesiveness...but really just because I can't find any real plants in stores right now up here. I also shot from this right side angle a lot because the table will be changing ASAP. Can't wait to show you.

I hope you liked this "transition post". Have you decorated for spring yet?

{ New Cozy Cottage Living Room Chairs }

Okay I can't contain my excitement to share this post, but first HAPPY MONDAY!! I hope your weekend was fun, relaxing, exciting or whatever you needed it to be! Our weekend was filled with trucking around about 45 minutes from us, followed by some yummy new sub place, enjoying our niece & a fun home night gathering for Mark's birthday weekend! We always do b i g birthday celebrations for us both  because well we don't have children & we can...The truth is the older we get the more simple we are...
So, back to the 45 minute away thing..We actually took Mark's big ole diesel truck to pick up some thrifty nearly brand new cottagey swivel chairs!! I'm so excited to share these..... Read more about how I scored these for $40!!!

So while surfing the Marketplace furniture buy/ sell I spotted these beauts!! I wasn't necessarily looking for anything but when I came across these I knew I wanted them!!  I wanted to add a little nook or cozy corner to this side of the living room & these were the perfect addition.

I love the green & cream check for spring. They add a but of texture & so much charm not to mention they're super big & comfy + swivel! They're nearly brand new & for $40 I couldn't resist!

Oh boy these two already think each one of these chairs are for them haha..I mean how cute though?!

I put this little white chippy stool table in the middle & it is already my favorite comfy spot upstairs! A tall glass of lemonade, home magazines & voila...night made.

I'll be blogging all the spring touches soon but wanted to quickly give a sneak peek at them styled & fluffed up!! Do you love them? What's your favorite thrifty find?!

{ The Coziest Winter Decor Inspiration}

Happy Wednesday...we're almost there! It's a busy week for us with work & doctor appointments, but I wanted to share some recent cozy inspiration with you all since this upcoming weekend we'll be refreshing the entire house { decor wise}. Hoping to get outside & refresh the basement lower level areas as well. I'm sitting here typing this post up thanking my lucky guardian angels for all they have blessed us with so young. Also happy I got in all my errands since it's supposed to be a super icy storm tonight...I'm still thinking up what my spring decor & which direction I want to go, but for now here's some cozy winter decor....  Here's to yummy tacos tonight & some comfy warm winter decor!

Yep, you're seeing that correctly...our bare tree is still up & we're loving it!! This little cozy family room nook will be changing soon, but for now it's super comfy & warm!

I couldn't love this winter living room with it's chunky wood vintage furniture anymore than right now. The dark rich warm tones, wintery greenery & mixed in antiques finish it off.

I styled this little hutch randomly the other day while wanting to still display these vintage diner Kate Spade mugs I'm clearly obsessed with & well this happened!! Green + blue with mixed blueberry stems...Hello epitome of winter!!

Out of all our winter fireplaces we've done, I think this is my favorite because of the abundance of antiques, vintage & simple treasures. White, warm, clean & pristine!!

I hope you loved this little tour as much as we love this little brick winter cottage. Enjoy the weather handed to you, it'll be changing quickly as cheesy as that sounds. We always want different instead of enjoying what's in the present.  Anyways happy Wednesday pals! YOU ALL ARE THE BEST!!
