During the winter months I get bored with decor because it's so cold here in Michigan & we cant do many DIY projects etc.. Once winter breaks or we think it does { Michigan weather is tricky} we do all the things we've wanted to all winter season! This year we got one 53 degree day & we made use of every second of it! We spruced the front up, put rest of Christmas porch decor away & spruced up the inside! Since I'm currently sitting here in our comfy little cottage looking at 7 inches of fresh snow, I thought a spring dining room refresh would be a nice gesture ha! Come see this quick refresh below....
I decided to keep the wood shelf & just declutter it! Using shelves in any area of your home can add that comfy charm & display items you want out as a focal point! I used some chunky cream candles & vintage milk bottles!
I kept the greenery kind of muted for now, because it's only March { almost} & still very much winter here in Michigan! I didn't add any flowers yet but it's still brighter & cheery with a few faux greens!
Adding this large chalkboard organizer to the back entry gave it such a lift!! The area isn't huge but practical & the cubbies are used daily along with the hooks for tea towels we use for the pups' paws!! I added more cream candles that coordinate with the shelf on the other side of the dining room for a cohesive feel!
We're on the hunt for a large new piece of furniture, new rug & wall treatment too, while still house hunting. I love this home & will continue to make it comfy & fresh!
Have you started decorating for spring yet? What's your new fav items this year?? Let me know in the comments!!
HAPPY Thursday!
