{ Our 2015 Classic Country Christmas Tour }

It's finally here after many hours of photographing, sorting pictures, decorating, screaming at the dogs, bugging the husband etc..OUR HOLIDAY HOME TOUR!! I'm not going to lie this is my most favorite time of the year & I look forward & prepare for it sometimes months in advance!! The holiday home tour in the blogging business is like going to the Grammys haha! The homes showcased are stunning in every way Christmas should be classified! Join me for our little tour around our comfy suburban cottage! I also may have added a blooper or two..thanks to our lovely doggies haha! I will say that all the years I've blogged/ decorated this is my most favorite. It turned out exactly what I had pictured in my "Christmas Crazy" brain & actually more. The big switch-up { neutral downstairs & color upstairs } I'm loving. I was going for the classic vintage Christmas feel & I think I achieved it..What do you think?!

- Entryway/ Porch

I went simple with out little porch this year! I added some crocks, galvanized buckets & trees.  We got the little 4ft pre-lit tree on clearance for $10!! The wreath is from Menards's  & something I never thought I'd do..but we bought some store bought light up decor!!! I was shocked myself, but when my husband called me over to look at it..I actually loved it! The whole set was under $100!! See our full inside entryway here --> Entryway

See our full  porch here -->  2015 Holiday Porch

- Kitchen & Dining Room -

I kept with the theme of the upstairs & went with the classic country Christmas feel. I added some vintage +Coca-Cola  goods,copper accessories & some vintage green dishes & faux baked goods. See the whole dining room post here -->Dining Room

See the whole kitchen post here -->  Wintery Kitchen

- Living Room -

Okay, finally our Christmas living room!!!! I've been waiting to post this for weeks haha! I'm kinda in love with how this space turned out. This is the only room in our house that I haven't blogged separately, but I will soon haha! It all started with the theme of the fireplace mantel..I found some faux vintage bulbs & well, the theme kinda took off. I got this idea for a vintage tree lot inspired mantel & this is what I came up with. The rest of the living room I styled around this " classic country Christmas ". See the full fireplace mantel post here ---> Fireplace & Mantel

Blooper #1..See the corner of the jute pillow...someone had a snack on it. The red jute lined pillows are from +HomeGoods  btw!

I put that wreath up on the wall on a whim & fell in love! I even liked the messy cord..gives it that country / effortless & comfy look.

Simple little tree in a bucket with some real vintage bulbs!

The new white slipcover makes the whole look, but lets just say the husband & dogs aren't digging it hahaha #whoops!

The red  pom pillow is from Tuesday Morning!

My gram gave me these little trees & I about snatched them when she said she didn't want them!

Blooper#2 ! Thanks Mr. Stewy for trashing the pillows & perching on your throne..hence why I didn't put any pillows here..dang puppy!

- Bedroom -

The bedroom again I wanted to flow nicely like the rest of the upper level..I used bold red & plaids the same print on our duvet as the bathroom shower curtain. Made it seem for cohesive since they're so close. You can see the whole bedroom post here ---> Cozy Bedroom

- Bathroom

The bathroom I kept simple & added stuff I had around the house or from previous decor I wasn't using. Come see the full bathroom post here --> Christmas Cottage Bathroom

- Lower Level

Biggest change up in our house for Christmas in years!! We switched all the neutral to our lower level lodge inspired Christmas & kept the colors upstairs. I'm loving this super comforting & soothing space. Come see the full blog post here ---> Lower Level Lodge

I sure hope you guys loved this "Classic Country Christmas"  inspired tour!!! I kept it as practical as possible & many of the goods were free finds, thrift ed or reused. No $45 dollar pillows here or$1000 dollar trees { even though I love them hehe }. Wishing you all the greatest holiday season with family & friends! Thank you so much for taking the time to view our home!!

{ Our Lower Level Lodge Inspired Christmas }

This week is flying by guys!! Thursday already..not sure what we're doing this weekend, but hoping for some decent weather so I can paint a new piece { more on that later }! Today was one of those days where it was something all day & some not so good things happening around the country, in our city etc..Sometimes superficial or simple things like Christmas decor are the only things that can shed some light on horrible things happening..Today I'm sharing our lower level & the simple lodge Christmas I put together. Unlike much of our upstairs that is splashed with bold colors, I kept the lower level simple, & natural. It's so soothing & comforting to sit down here with my husband and watch Christmas movies, sip hot chocolate or an ice cold Coke hehe. It's our little bubble away from the world you could say...All I can say though is that our hearts were heavy today for some tragic events both with humans and animals. Sit back and join me for some simple cheer around our lower level while we count our simple blessings. P.S. can you believe that I totally switched our lower level to neutral & splashed our upstairs with color..I told you I had some big changes happening for Christmas hehe!

These first few pictures I took are with the lights not on..I actually love the tree this year with them on or off..The feel could go either way. I'm loving this woodland look!  I got the black & white plaid ribbon on sale +Michaels Stores  & the chalkboard tags I reused from an old banner from +Target . The bulbs are from +IKEA USA !

Both the wood slices & metal fireplace bucket were free finds!  I love this little bucket, it was one of our first junkin finds!

I'm looking at these lanterns & just realized I forgot to add the greenery I had for them...You win some & lose some...ahh :( . Anyways the lanterns are from +Kohl's  they were $140 a piece & I got them both for  around $40!!!! They're one of my favorite things about  this  space!!

Adding candles to  a tray is instant & simple decor. This tray is vintage & one of my husband's pride possessions..& I may have left it outside in the rain one time.....eek!

I kept the tree simple & actually didn't put any of our personal ornaments out this year..kinda makes me sad but wow was it a lot easier. Blogging basically the whole house is a lot of work, not to mention we have like 1000000000 Christmas tubs in our storage room!! If you follow me via Instagram -->My IG  you would know I posted a picture with the cutest cream & sparkly " Merry Christmas" banner from +PotteryBarn .  ..Ya, as soon as I seen that 10 other trees had the same banner that was history!! I know in this blogland business that you're going to encounter someone with the same thing as you sometime or another, but I try to stay clear of that. I see alll the time via my social media one blogger gets something & 50 follow..I get that this business is for inspiration, but I just am not that way. So I took the banner down & kept my tree simple.I know everyone is into the rocking horse/ ski theme too..Ya, I obviously skipped that too { I did the ski / plaid theme last year} .  I'm not being snarky either, but I pride myself on being authentic & practical. BTW alll the lovely bloggers  holiday home tours have been STUNNING!!

I mentioned this before but our whole lower level is sprinkled in rustic moose goods. It was my husband's nickname in high school & technically this is his man-cave hehe. I actually randomly loveee moosies  too so I incorporated them into the theme. This guy was a free find..isn't he cute?! The chippy green chair, vintage tobacco canister & leather belle strap are all free finds!!

I opted to not have traditional wrapped gifts this year, but instead used these cute boxes for now ;). Of course I put all our fur babies names on them haha! The skates were also a free find!! Fun little fact my great gramps ice skated up until he was almost 80 & my mom still has his old skates like these ones..Me, I can't ice skate to save my life ha.

So cozy!!

Hope you all enjoyed our little switch up with decor this year! I'm actually really liking the lower level being so neutral, although I could never deal with the upper level so colorful, but who knows haha!

Have a lovely & safe weekend!

Another P.S..... haha I'm always forgetting something..but  I've got some other exciting news coming to the blog for you guys..I'll be sharing where we're selling furniture & junkin goods at soon !!!  Stick around for our full Holiday Home Tour Friday or Monday too! As always THANK YOU for stopping by my little practical blog.

{ Simple & Wintery Christmas Kitchen }

Heyyy guys! Tuesday...you're blah!! It's been one of those day guys haha..although I'm not really laughing!! I mean it's "giving back Tuesday" & some people are just in the crankiest moods ever.. Anyways I'm back today with another area in our little suburban cottage that I decorated for Christmas! It's simple & coordinates well with the rest of our main level. I used simple pops of red & green with a mixed in wintery wonderland feel! I was digging the cool tones mixed in with the festive bold tones in this space! Our kitchen isn't huge by any means, but it's new, fresh & I love this little Christmas setup we've got going on! The dining room is still decorated like a cozy vintage bakery , so I wanted something that flowed nicely with that! Here is what I came up with... P.S. When I post our full 2015 Holiday Home Tour, you'll be seeing a few spaces in the kitchen I left out..hutch..shelf etc.. stay tuned!

I picked up this distressed white wood tray & matching box from Tuesday Morning store back in September! I love the simple distressed look & they go nicely with our cabinets! The little festive print is perfect, yet simple!

Here is the matching tray! It's perfect for my husband's little coffee bar station! I'll be adding to this little area soon with some cold weather essentials!! The mat underneath I added because..actually I cant remember why, but I liked the design.  I did photograph it { Durr :/ }, but the tray under the coffee pot is a vintage Coco-Cola Santa  tray. I don't know why, but I'm loving the vintage coke goods, diner & warm feels this year!

I just filled this box with some honey & tea station goods! I love that little honey jar & it holds a special spot in my heart  :)!

I had these trees from +Hobby Lobby  in our home tour last year by the fireplace..but sine I did the total switch from neutral upstairs & red downstairs I had no place for these this year. I had stuck them outside on our little front porch, & then I randomly stuck them here & loved it..See sometimes the most random things go so well together! Effortless & cozy decorating is my game hehe!

That vintage tree plate is my ABSOLUTE FAV!! My mom picked it up for me a few years back while junkin in the north & I'm just in love with it. It's so simple, farmhouse & cottagey!!

This is just part of our hutch. I'll be adding the full hutch to our 2015 Holiday Tour, but for now here it is. Simple goods fill it, with some pops of red & green and some mixed in thrifted treasures! This is another one of those pieces that I love!! It was a free find & I painted it with some leftover latex paint..gasp haha. I have a big surprise coming on the blog pry after the holidays to do with this piece!!!!!! I hope I can hold back until then haha!

I hope you guys liked this styled spaced! So simple, thrifty & again you can get a feel on how I literally "shuffle" goods from one end of the house to the other for different looks. It's all about practical, cozy & simple decor around here! Happy Tuesday & since it's - Giving Tuesday - please consider donating to your local animal rescues/ shelters & help the voiceless { See my side bar under the * promote* link for some suggestions..THANK YOU!!!

{ Classic & Cozy Christmas Bedroom }

Happy  Tuesday guys!! I seriously am in shock that it's Dec 1st..Ugh that kinda makes me sad!! Christmas goes by toooo soon, & for this "Christmas crazy lady " 1 month or for us 1.5  of everything Christmas isn't enough!!! I still see people just now putting their tree up, lights outside etc..I say we all start Nov 1st hahah ;)! Today I'm sharing our classic & cozy Christmas bedroom!! It's the first year that we didn't put a little tree in there, but we did something better..LIGHTS!! I picked up some cute garland & I had a leftover strand & well I'M IN LOVE!!! I mean something about Christmas lights in the bedroom make me so happy!!  I kept with the theme of our upper level of our little suburban  cottage ,and stayed classic & cozy. I used tons of pops of red & simple rustic touches! I have two more spaces to blog & then I'll be putting together our full 2015 Holiday Home Tour!! The lower level is the biggest change up, so stay tuned ;) !! P.S. I added two new pieces of furniture to our upper level ..eek they're so cute & festive too! My grams was over helping me & we swapped some furniture haha..classic because our family is ALWAYS buying, switching or painting some piece of furniture!!

Lets talk about those cute little bright red velvet bows..I got this idea in my head one day while I was washing our duvet cover from +IKEA USA ! It ties at the top & I thought how cute would some bows be to outline the bedding..I didn't think they would stay, but I promise it's been 3 weeks & they're still on there perfectly!! I simply picked up a pack of bows from +Menards  & attached them to the ties on the bedding.

The greenery is from +Michaels Stores  & the little festive red greenery in the wood planters are from +Target  from  last years clearance!

I mentioned before, but the tray is from +Hobby Lobby  on sale for $16 & the silver goods are free finds!! I added some yummy little hot chocolate cookies & greenery! My husband mayyyy have ate all those little cookies heheh!

I spotted this wreath +Kohl's  and had to have it! It was rustic, but with a bit of fresh bright green appeal with sparkled, yet a rustic style bow..I don't know, but I love it!!

The plaid pillow was the perfect amount of color, perfect shades of Christmas colors & it's from +Michaels Stores  on sale for under $20!

These pictures don't do this little magical & festive space justice!!! It's so classic & cozy..I swear, I'm keeping those Christmas lights up all year hahaha!

I hope you guys enjoyed this cozy & super classic Christmas styled bedroom! It's not the largest or grandest, but it's super cozy, festive & smells of delicious apple cinnamon candles!!

I'll be back tomorrow with another room in our home & Wednesday too. I'm aiming for our full 2015 Holiday Home Tour to be up by Friday!!!  Also don't forget to head on over to this post --> Secret and Scents Candle and grab your jewel candle with my 10% off promo code for you guys!! :)

Thanks SO much for stopping by my little practical blog.
