Hey friends, welcome back!! I'm sitting here typing this post while listening to some classic Christmas tunes while my "Christmas Cranberry" candle is burning & my little heater is blasting my feet & I couldn't be more cozy!!! I adore this time of the year down to the shopping, hustle & bustle, weather, decor & everything the holidays entail! Life is crazy right now, but getting out & scoping out some Christmas decor with my sister or hubby & enjoying the season is one way I calm my nerves! I was out a few days ago with my sister +Marshalls  & spotted some super cute & affordable decor for this season & thought I would put together a little decor for you guys in case you may be stuck on what to mix/buy etc..! { Rustic Cottage Style Christmas Office}

Happy Monday everyone!!! Christmas music has officially started playing on the radio, the temps are super cool now & I may or may not have decorated outside for Christmas this weekend..I mean come on people it is November hahaha! For me decorating & styling our house for Christmas is actually relaxing..It soothes my nerves & to be honest life has been super chaotic with new business/job stuff etc... This whole 2016 has been insane..so I think my little heart deserves some joy & that just so happens to be decorating for my Christmas crazy obsessed self haha! Today I'm sharing a space I hardly decorate or show on the blog at all because honestly it's not finished completely!! My office is that one space in the house that is partially finished, but I still like to cozy it up for Christmas since I do spend a lot of time in here. We have my husband's office upstairs, in another room, but I opted to keep my office in this room in our lower level because it has built-in shelving for my decor storage & our bunny aka Mr. Wibbles my office mascot is down here :)))! Come take a peek at some little rustic pieces I added for Christmas in my office all for FREE!

This picture has been with us since our very first home in 2008. It was a gift from my aunt & I still love it to this day. I simply draped some garland lights around it & the "office" sign from +HomeGoods

Again, this is my office & work aka slop area for paint & everything else so it's not perfect, but always practical haha. I just styled some simple paint brushes in an old mason & set one of my older cameras out with some storage boxes from +IKEA USA ...super easy & cozy. The old tobacco can was a free find & the flowers are from +Hobby Lobby !

I ran out of trees { GASP} so I used this little talking tree & just added some vintage red ornaments I had laying around from last year!

I've been using a white parson chair for a few months now, because my back has been horrible, so I thought I'd use an old plaid blanket & comfy pillow to add some Christmas  warmth & charm..

We have a ton of these old vintage galvanized tubs, so I used one to store wrapping paper & other paper goods!

The baskets were a gift a few years back & I just store my paints & waxes in them..Again easy peasy!!!

This little space is sooo much more cozy now with some lights, a tree & some yummy Christmas candles!! I mean for just about nothing I styled my whole office..win win right?!
What do you guys think about this cozy little space? Do you decorate your work area  for the holidays?

Wishing you all a lovely Monday!!

{ Taking you Along on My Christmas Decorating Process.. }

Hey everyone & welcome back to TQS!! Can you believe it's already November 2nd? I mean, I'm so glad I start decorating for Christmas early because it comes & goes so quickly...Today I finished up a bunch of stuff around the house, got my hair done & FINISHED 2 spaces in our little suburban cottage for Christmas!!! I shared two "stories" via IG here:My Instagram & then it dawned on me that I never really share the "process" of my decorating , but rather just the styled space after. Today I'm sharing some really not great quality pictures, but the process of what I've got going on right now & how long it actually takes to style & photograph a space. This year I was stumped for a theme in our upper & lower level, but that quickly faded once I was out & about browsing etc.. You guys know I like to keep it fresh & not so trendy, so here is what I have so far..

Again, I haven't done much with this space..but I did add a fraser fir candle from +Michaels Stores , wood reindeer & that simple wreath I got from +IKEA USA  for $1!!!!!

I spotted these plates for under $3 a piece & knew exactly what I wanted to do with them..To be honest before I spotted these I had no idea what I was doing with our dining room this year...This space is probably my MOST excited to show you guys..#staytuned

This is a horrible picture, but I wanted to show what I have so far..It's super simple, yet festive & I'm loving going really simplistic this year..or at least for my cozy style haha!

This huge wreath simply added to our 1940's barn door has me loving going more rustic this year. I mean adding a wreath with some white lights..Easy peasy!!! The wreath is from +HomeGoods .

What themes & Christmas decor are you guys loving this year? Do you have a process you do before decorating? Let me know below :)!!

Wishing you all a happy & healthy Wednesday!!

If you've been reading my blog for quite sometime you would know that I'm obsessed with cozy Christmas everything & usually start decorating for Christmas November 1st! Today I'm sharing some Ideas to create that cozy cottage Christmas with some simple decor goods.

{ DIY Faux Farmhouse Wood-Grain Coffee Table Top }

Okay, so I probably should start 85% of my posts out with " I started this project on a whim" haha, but honestly you guys it's so true of me. I'm such a planner in my everyday life, but when it comes to decor & mostly projects I kind of just go with them & that's exactly how this one started!! I was cozied up the other night while watching Tuck Everlasting { Don't laugh} & decided I would sit in front of our little fireplace & give this thrifty coffee table in our upper living room a makeover...at 2a.m !! I don't know what made me want something warmer, but I thought it needed something other than the crisp white I gave it when we found it. I think with the holidays coming up I crave those warmer wood tones.. This table is wood, but had so many layers of paint that I didn't want to sand { impatient Paige } so I came up with something sooo much easier & I'm kind of obsessed with how it turned out & for less than $10!! Come see below what I did!!!!

S u p p l i e s

  • Brillo Pad
  • Chalk Paint {tan or brown} depending on grain color preference { First coat before roughing up}
  • Dark Wax
  • Paint Brush
  • Cloth

 D i r e c t i o n s

Clean the table with water & let dry. Put a thin layer of your chalk paint down & let dry!! After the chalk paint is dry, use your Brillo pad to gently rough up the surface. Wipe the area clean of any loose material & begin putting the dark wax down in long strokes. I put about 3 coats on & let dry, then took the Brillo pad & very gently went over the top for a bit more of a distressed look! The dark antiquing wax can be purchased +Walmart !

I love the variations in the wax it's almost like real wood grain shwoing. I also like the fact that the top is protected now & without having to mess with stain/sanding etc.. I'll probably get sick of this too, but for now I love the warmness it brings into the living room.!

**The table was a free find, the rug is from +Ruggable® 2-Piece Rug System   & the crocks are free junkin finds!

I decided to leave the lower level white for now & just added an old chippy chicken wire basket!

I used an old glass window for the centerpiece & then just filled some old vintage crocks with greenery from +IKEA USA  & +Michaels Stores ...Super easy & cozy!

I hit some of the detailing on the table with some leftover wax on the cloth, but made sure not to technically "outline" it. I just wanted it to look a bit aged & distressed naturally!

Like most of my projects, it isn't perfect & that's what makes it that much more charming & rustic!

So what's your take on this DIY? Do you like the dark wax faux wood grain technique? Have you ever worked with dark waxes for projects? Let me know below , I love hearing from you guys!

Happy Tuesday!

{ Farmhouse Style Entrance Inspiration }

Hey everyone welcome back! I'm just going to start by saying this week has been insane in almost every way possible..Like seriously what has been up with 2016...give a girl a break  PLEASE haha! You guys know when I'm feeling overwhelmed with stuff I like to online window shop, gather inspiration & redecorate our little suburban cottage!! Tonight while I was laying in bed dreading everything needing to be done & everything happening { spider bite, broken appliance, water stuff & work } I decided to put together a little farmhouse entryway since I don't think I've ever done a mood board like this!?.. Our entryway is separate from our kitchen & living room,but it is tiny & a bit hard to decorate around because of our little step-up. This mood board I put together could work with just about ANY entry with a little tweaking of the table etc.. Come see what items I used with some sources/links.
You can see our Farmhouse Fall Entry here---> Fall Farmhouse Entryway

All these items can be found just about anywhere, or at the places under each picture. What do you guys think of this simple farmhouse entrance mood board??

Wishing you all a happy Thursday!

{ Cozy Farmhouse Style Fall Harvest Tablescape }

You guyssss I'm so excited to share this cozy little tablescape with you!! So even though neutral decor is my jam usually I always seem to find myself adding super warm cozy tones during late October..I mean don't get me wrong I love all the neutral pumpkins, but I also crave the authentic warm oranges, greens & deep browns that late October & November entail especially for Thanksgiving!!! I was finishing up the day's chores early this morning & while finishing organizing the spice cabinet I managed to bust a huge mason jar all over the kitchen..Which then prompted me to spot these little crocks I had stashed away in the cupboards!!! I actually was going to be making some homemade french onion soup today for dinner, but with this crazy warm/humid Michigan weather that definitely wasn't happening...So what do I do with these cute little crocks?? Stage them of course hahaha! Come see this super cozy & warm tablescape that would be great for Thanksgiving etc..

How cute are these little crocks? I love using them every fall for soups & stews! These were thrifty finds many years back! You can see last year' table here-->Charming Thanksgiving Tablescape

I spotted this greenery that screams pumpkin patch to me for some reason..Don't ask me the name because you guys know this "black thumb" has no clue haha. I picked 2 bushels up +Michaels Stores  for under $6 {originally almost $20 a bunch } with their 60% sale!!! The large pot was a free find..I love the fall style detail!!!

The pumpkins are also from +Michaels Stores  & I picked them up also on sale for 60% off , which made them $5.

I've mentioned this before, but I use the same decor ALL OVER our home!! When I say I'm thrifty, I mean it!! I literally use the same stuff in probably 4-5 posts before selling, donating etc.. Just like this " Harvest Blessings" sign from +HomeGoods !!

What do you guys think of this warm & festive tablescape? Do you like to use color in your fall/ Thanksgiving table decor?? Let me know below & keep up with me via my social media links below!!

Wishing you all a happy & healthy Tuesday!!!

Anyways as I was lounging around it dawned on me I never have shared the different ways I store our throws & with the cooler months upon us I thought I'd blog some of the different farmhouse ways to keep all those throws/blankets stored cute & cozy!!! I chose 5 of my favorite simple & easy ways to store them, and bonus most of these items can double  for other uses & they're neutral/durable! Come see my favorite 5 with the links to order below!
