{ Neutral Summer Fireplace Look }

 This has been one of the longest weeks for me since 2018 when I was sick for weeks! Thing's have been all over the map around here, but one thing that stay consistent me - blogging, decor & writing!

Although I'm in a level 7 pain right now { I'll explain later } I wanted to put up a few images of our fresh spring mantel with some amazing pots from @homegoods ! This is one of my favorite areas to refresh & after spotting the pots I had to style it...A FEW different ways! •Come see more below on how to get this look...

This is one of the 3 different looks with mostly the same items! I've never really disclosed this, but as a photographer & blogger you take tons of photos for that shoot & then you get the fun task of going through the roll & picking the images that look best etc.. Sometimes that's hard, hence why I'm showing the same shoot styled a few different ways!

I wanted a super neutral look that entailed a bright fresh summer ambiance with a lot of countryside cottage charm! After the last few weeks, it's much needed! These Atlas masons from Maine are some of my favorites! The seltzer bottle brings in that summer vibe with staying cozy vintage & neutral!

The going focal point were these wicker jute clay bottom like planter pots that are super unique & these massive stem bundles!!

The stem bundles are so large & that's particularly why I loved them because they fit effortlessly in this vintage inspired laundry basket by Magnolia!

I added this bronzed piggy last minute & liked this look too ha! I don't know why this shoot was so hard to decide..I'm thinking because I love how I executed the look! Which look is YOUR favorite??

HAPPY Monday!

{ The BEST gift Idea }

 Hey pals welcome back to TQS!! Things have been so busy our way & unfortunately not just busy, but also sad! On April 11th 2021 we lost my uncle Randall at the young age of 63! It wasn't only my sister's birthday but also the loss of an amazingly decorated & colorful person! Randall was actually my step uncle who married my auntie when I was 18! He had been part of our family since my mother & auntie were young children, and fit in our small family unit so well! He was a dedicated honorable soldier, father, husband, steel engineer & all around one of the most genuine + comical people. His battle with thyroid cancer was quick & death even quicker....We're  all in shock still. A few days after his passing I got a DM/ Email from a company that wanted to collab! Now, if you know me, you know I usually only collab/ sponsor/ work with companies that fit my blog niche. I get offers consistently through the weeks & months that I decline, but something told me to open this...SO glad I did!!! Keep reading below for deets on the BEST gift for anyone at anytime!!

When 3DLASERGIFTS reached out I knew I had to pick this collab up! All I could think about was how much my auntie would enjoy having this memorable necklace with her favorite photo of Randall on it!
I have to say I was skeptical about the photo coming out because of the older photo quality etc. . The photo is of Randall on his boat on the lake wearing a vest! That was no easy task, but 3DLASERGIFTS did it!!!!!!

I am so pleased at the level of precision & how authentic this company has been!

{ DIY Brass French Country Faucet }

 Happy Wednesday pals! Today I'm so excited to share something with you guys I've wanted for quite sometime now...A new  KITCHEN FAUCET haha! Did you guess right?! Not many would, unless you're a blogger, interior designer etc.. Little fun fact, I've wanted a vintage brass french country inspired kitchen faucet for years now! We are constantly picking + junkies but never came upon  one sadly..I wanted something that wasn't super shiny but brass nonetheless.  Well, that's when Modern Masters paint crossed my mind...Come see the full makeover below!

This was obviously the before! I didn't hate the black but it blended into the copper tinged black granite countertops.  The faucet was distressed with bronzed brass bits already when we bought it from Home Depot a few years back!!

• HOW TO:

• wipe clean
• take a mid grade sandpaper lightly to it. Wipe again after above step
• Paint { I did 3 coats}
• Seal with clear spray sealant If needed

• SUPPLIES:

•Clean rag
•Small fluffy brush
•Modern Masters paint
• Clear sealant

I love how bright & whimsical it is, especially in a smaller space! The bright cheery vintage brass looks great with just about any decor or season.

One of the reasons we didn't want a new brass faucet installed, was because I wanted an aged authentic looking brass...like the vintage pots holding the beautiful fresh flowers!

• Side Note: Waiting on some fun pieces for these cabinets!

I hope you guys liked this simple DIY sink faucet makeover! It cost less than $20 & about 2 hours of paint + dry time. The end result is a fresh fixture for summer!!

{ Garden Fresh Flower Bouquet }

 Hey, pals welcome back to TQS! I've been craving spring here in Michigan & hoarding new spring decor in every inch of our little cottage since about March! We layed new sod, started weeding, bought 5 gallons of patio paint & bam standstill!!!! Oh, nooo not because we've been having too much fun, but because of MICHIGAN WEATHER  haha. Yup...snow has hit us again! Please pray for our sod haha eek!

Anyways I've been craving spring & my friend picked the prettiest flowers from her country home! I was having a hard day physically with the vertigo & fibromyalgia + mentally with my uncle passing.  Instantly they brightened our home & mood!!

That got me thinking how a simple bouquet can add not only freshness but charm, decor & brightness to a space...even a messy stove!

Basically, anyone get  grab fresh flowers from one area or another, OR cheat & grab some $5 grocery store pre-made bouquets!

A fresh spring kitchen & a long Michigan winter!

HAPPY Thursday!

{ Vintage Easter Kitchen Counter }

 Well, I'm officially that person who forgets a holiday is in three days...haha! I mean thing's have been  weird, but I can't believe I almost forgot about Easter! Anyways, so after I got home I spruced the house up cleaning & then I found a sign....You see it's normal in our home to find random decor pieces never seen before to be stashed all around the house!! Isn't that normal?.. I forgot I had this sign my mom picked up a few years  back, which was a  total relief! Relief because I have little Easter decor & needed to get a post out!!! Thankfully this piece went well with my other new + vintage pieces! Come see some quaint Easter inspiration below.....

Although I almost forgot about Easter, my love for cute bunnies run deep! I've had rabbits most my life..Starting from age 5. When I was attacked by a dog at two years old, I had ptsd from it. To help with the anxiety, we got a pet rabbit- Lucifer!

Plus they're just adorable!

You know I had to mix in some vintage goods! These gold rimmed  tea set is from my grandma. The rabbit pottery art from my mom. I love pottery art , if you didn't know..

I think loving rabbits & Easter stems from my grandma! She loved books & loved reading Peter Rabbit garden stories over tea & butter cookies. Mmm I can taste her Red Zinger tea & hear her old China clattering about...I miss her dearly!

I only have about 10 Easter decor pieces, but somehow always use them differently! Maybe it's time to shop...

I hope you liked this Easter inspiration! It's a different spot to show decor but also adds charm to the countertops!
What's your favorite Easter dish to eat or make or style with. Decor or food, I need all the inspiration!

HAPPY Friday!

{ New Bedframe & Mattress REVIEW}

 This is one of those posts thst have been in the works for quite sometime! You see we went from a California king mattress  to a queen when we moved to this house 9 years ago! It was quite the downsize in bedroom size & mattress, but we actually loved the coziness! Fast forward 9 years later followed with lots of aches & pains from aging + unfortunate accidents it was definitely time for a new bedroom refresh.  That meant not  just new fresh white paint, but also bedframe mattress  too!! Keep reading below for a closer look & review...

I wanted a simple " grown up " master but still bright, cozy & a touch of whimsical! Of course I stuck with a neutral pallet but with with tons of texture & accents!

•FAQS:

• Brand: Nectar
• Bedframe: King in color Linen
• Mattress is a King in the original Nectar
• Mattress Style: Memory foam -firm-
• Bedframe is wood & fabric with middle supports.

•MATTRESS REVIEW:

We've had the mattress &  bedframe for over a month now & honestly it's decent!! The foam mattress is pretty firm, but in a good way.  For us,  we needed that because of back/ health issues.  Our old mattress was a bit softer & you almost sunk into it { Vera Wang brand }.

•BEDFRAME REVIEW:

The bedframe was huge for us! We haven't had one in years & I didn't want to spend a huge amount considering we're actively STILL house hunting. We however did want something cozy, neutral & sturdy in the meantime.  We were questioning the sturdiness of this popular online option, but honestly its been nice!! No sounds, shifting or shaking thus far!  The frame linen is decent fabric, but a bit darker than I would have liked!

PROS:

•  Affordability
• Quick shipping
• Easy assembly
• Design appeal
• Came with amazing 100% cotton sheets

CONS:

• Limited color options
• Limited types of mattresses
• Not made in the USA
• Pillows aren't for everyone { large & quite stiff }

I hope you liked this spring bedroom refresh! It was a long time coming & just after the holidays were over, we decided to pull the plug! Again, for the ease & affordability I'd definitely recommend it.
If you have anything to add or have purchased from Nectar let me know in the comments.
