{ MY 29TH YEAR & AN ALL ABOUT ME! }

Ohh boy just starting to write this post has me edgyyyy eek! I can't believe today I am 29!! Seriously, I'm OLD hahaha..I mean how am I 29..I'm not going to lie being 29 makes me anxious already. Ya, 29 isn't "old" really, but to me it feels that way. I think I might be feeling like this because to me it seems like life just started and there is so much left still I want to do..But everywhere I look around I see things/people are moving at 100mph. I want to stop & enjoy the simple things in life like traveling to cute quaint places with my husband, grow both our businesses more & eventually acquire more animals are maybe even have a kid if we get reallly crazy ha ;). I love adventure, but crave structure. Lately I feel like I'm all over the place & that we're so behind. We have accomplished so much & were always a few steps ahead  for our age. Now that our age group is catching up it seems we are slowing down haha. This makes me feel O L D! I think this might be the Higher Powers way of telling us to enjoy the moment and do what we love instead of life's rules of time. That last part is hard for a "planner" like myself ... I'm hoping 29 is a great year, since 28 has been super bumpy with everything new happening with us etc.. I'm ready to take on 29 with an adventurous mind & kind heart.

{ Neutral Farmhouse & Cottage Style Bedding all from @ TARGET! }

Happy Monday guys..& I say that with a slight undertone in my voice. TQS is all about practical home everything, honesty & well not just the "pretty"! My mind is all over today with the meaning of everything life entails, what's important etc.. I started TQS because of my love for everything home & wanting to help everyone love their home aka "sanctuary" no matter the size or budget. Although my true passion is blogging because it combines my three favorite things { Photography, writing & home decor } my other competing passion is definitely animal advocacy, rescue animals etc... With that be said, tonight two animal torture/cruelty cases brought me to tears & the first thought that crossed my mind was " Here I am writing about home decor & material things when two of the Higher Powers greatest creations lost their lives at the hands of "humans" & sadly I use that term sparingly these days":(. I then started to think what my main purpose was when I started this blog & it was to help you love your home & essentially make it your sanctuary . Lets be honest when you've had a rough day all you want to do is come HOME & relax in a cozy bed right?? Well today I have 7 bedding sets from +Target  that are a must see! They have that cottage & farmhouse charm, but without the price! They're neutral, cozy & can be paired basically in any style bedroom space!

**I've listed each set below with the DIRECT LINKS for your convenience. Target had so many great cozy sets, these are just a few of my favorite cottage & farmhouse inspired ones I chose. I can't wait to reveal which one I ended up ordering ;).

Which one of these comfy bedding sets is your favorite? Can you guess which one I ordered??

Wishing you all a happy & healthy Monday!

As always THANK YOU for stopping in on my little growing blog. { Farmhouse Living Room Wall Decor }

Hey guys! Today was a super busy day here for me & tomorrow is going to be even busier unfortunately.. I have so much going on & can't seem to catch up on anything which is driving my little OCD/creative brain insane !!!! After I got home from being out in this 100 degree weather { praising all the outdoor workmen } I needed some down time, so I ended up finishing a little wall in our living room that has been in limbo for weeks since we moved furniture & added new pieces! I wanted something farmhouse/cottagey & not the regular "gallery wall" with pictures, arrows, names etc.. I've had many gallery wall themes in our homes & I'm just not that into them anymore! I wanted something cozy/fresh & simple. I gathered some things I had laying around with the exception of the preserved boxwood wreath from +Target  & got to work!

So, this white { once silver } shelf is one of the hardest dang things to hang. I ended up hanging it with +3M  & it worked like a charm! This mantel has literally been all over our house and even our condo before this house! My mom picked it up at +HomeGoods  for $5!!

I had been wanting a boxwood wreath for sometime now & finally decided a few months back that I would splurge & buy one! The simple little solar lanterns are from Dollar Tree & they were perfect on the mantel & coordinated well with the DIY living room chandelier/lantern -->Simple Living Room Chandelier .

The flowers are from +Hobby Lobby !

The pillows are from an array of places.. +Marshalls , +Pottery Barn  +IKEA USA

Something else random about me..and I'm almost sure I've mentioned this via other blog post before, but I'm not a fan of sconces..at all!! However, these authentic vintage ones I love! I think they look nice paired with the chippy vintage window frame & add that vintage cottage/farmhouse style & charm!

Side Note: I'm still trying to find the perfect candlesticks for them. Thinking thick creamy white ones?..

I hope you guys like this cozy farmhouse decor wall in our home! It's super simple & of course thrifty! I'm excited to play around with this for the upcoming holidays & stay tuned for the wall to the left of the sofa ;) ..more on that soon!!!

Happy Thursday!

{ Using Old Frames As Cottage Style Mantel Decor..}

Welcome back everyone! I hope your Monday was great & hopefully productive..Mine was anything but that thanks to a little head cold & just a blah day..Yup, I have those days too..eek! Anyways one thing I DID get done today was to photograph our light & bright fireplace mantel using some old junkin free frames I had stockpiled haha!! I mentioned via my social media the last few weeks that I've been craving more airy & bright spaces & that's just what I did with our cozy fireplace mantel! I think I might be trying to hold on to our Michigan summer by keeping it light & airy. This summer has flown by & I'm kind of sad we haven't had the chance to enjoy it other than two small vacations...That's life I guess when you're an entrepreneur... Sit back with some sweet tea & see our super simple & thrifty mantel using these free frames!!

I had a bunch of frames from different projects that were "deconstructed" & me being the hoarder of all things decor I decided to keep them ALL haha! I realized I had too many & they would be nice as some simple & free art for summer on the mantel & well I kinda love it!!

Another random fact about me is that I reuse the same items in our house in different locations probably 100x before selling or donating!! This plays into that "practical blogger" part! Lets face it not everyone can keep buying new decor constantly & if you look at our fireplace mantel I switch & rotate things out all the time, but for different occasions & even seasons with the same goods! Stay tuned I'm sure these frames will be making an appearance somewhere else in our little suburban cottage soon..;)

Another thing I do when "refreshing" a space is to just switch out certain items, but not the whole setup etc.. For example I switched out the side table that holds the basket of pillows & added a lighter gray/white check pillow instead of the previous grain sack one.. Simple touches to an already loved space can refresh it that much!!

The rustic gray candle holders actually have glass for the candle part, but my clumsy self broke one, so I decided to just use them as is. The white milk-glass candle holders were free thrifts. The mason jars are from +Target  & the flowers from +Hobby Lobby .

What do you guys think about this little fresh mantel using these free frames? Super easy peasy right?! I hope you liked this refresh for summer! Happy Tuesday!!

{ Unique Wood Watch Summer Accessory!! }

Hey lovely friends!! Thanks for popping back in on the blog. I hope your weekend was filled some fun summer activities since summer is dwindling away..well at least for us Michiganders:(. I rarely talk about "fashion" on the blog because lets be honest I'm a Home Blogger, so I'm usually in paint splattered clothes with a huge top knot & no makeup on eek ha! Something a little random about me though is I used to actually really be into "trends" & have also worked in retail since I was just 14 years old..I even ran a store at the young age of 16! Now manyyy year's later my passions have obviously changed, but I still like to add some classic & timeless pieces to my now small collection for those special occasions etc.. My style these days is super simple with a few pops of classic or staple items so when I got this JORD Wood Watch for an upcoming wedding I fell in love and had to share this new favorite item of mine!

The packaging & watch itself are so unique & all natural which is also great!! I've had many different watches before { Burberry, Kenneth Cole, Guess etc..} & the bands always seem to irritate my sensitive skin. The wood watches are definitely  super comfy & feel great! This mother of pearl one can be seen HERE

I can't wait to wear this out to our niece's wedding in the next week! It looks so nice with the dark crochet dress & floral kimono! Simple, classic & fresh! You can see the other women's wood watches HERE

I know this watch will be getting a lot of use from me! It's perfect for any occasion and especially for someone who likes natural materials & unique items! Be sure to go check out the other styles, you'll LOVE them!!

Wishing you all a happy & healthy Monday!

{ Summer Dining Room & New Farmhouse Table Peek.. }

Hey guys. Okay so today I was supposed to be sharing our summer dining room & our new little mini farmhouse table { before }.. & I still fully intend to do that, but & forgive me if this post is a bit jumbled. See it's 4:35am here in Michigan & I'm just now sitting down to finish this post since our lovely internet was down...Thank you +Bright House Networks  UGH! Anyways it's back up & running and with a little Alessia Cara - "Wild Things " I'm going to try & finish this post haha! So I've been mentioning via social media that in the summer I crave smaller, simpler & airy spaces..Well today I'm sharing our new tiny little 4 person farmhouse table instead of our 8-12 person square one in the dining room! See we go through dining room tables like crazy in our house, actually all furniture for that matter & I'm okay with that haha. Thank goodness most are thrifty & of course all are cottagey or farmhousey! Our last two tables I sold at the shop & our last lasttt table from +IKEA USA  is now down in the laundry room as our new folding table since it matched nicer in there! I wanted to keep with the farmhouse style so I brought up the cutest little round { I love round tables } from downstairs & decided to use it in our dining room for summer! It's super quaint, needs TLC & definitely has that farmhouse style working for it! Today I'm sharing the "before", because I may or may not have been painting it today.. I can't wait to blog the after, but for now we're going to enjoy the openness it gives in our dining room for summer.

This "Kitchen 101" sign was a $15 DIY. You can search the top of the blog for the tutorial if you're interested in this -Tea Towel Art -!

Greenery is from +IKEA USA . Wall art from +Hobby Lobby . Wreath from +Kohl's  & mason jars from +Marshalls .The rug is from +Target

I wanted everything to be fresh & green!!! As much greenery, flowers & wood I could bring into the space I did! It just screams summer to me & it's super airy & light looking which is what summer is allll about right?!

Since the table itself is so plain, I decided a cute super rustic/ vintage centerpiece would be cute! I used some free vintage glass milk bottles, hydrangeas+lavender with a rustic pitcher set on a vintage silver cake-stand! So pretty!!!

Something simple on the chalkboard & of course my favorite feature..Our 1940's FREE barn door! You can search the top of the blog under " Barn Door Divider" to see the tutorial/post on this door!

Although I do love this little farmhouse table as is now, it does need some TLC in some spots. I think a rustic creamy white with some dark wax?! Leave me some suggestions in the comment section below! :)

I'll' be blogging the update on this little table in the next week or so! What do you guys think of this much smaller farmhouse style table in our summer dining room? I hope you guys liked this light & superrr bright { sometimes too bright } dining space!! I'm off to bed now finally..ha!

Happy Wednesday Y'all!!
