{ Garden Style Summer Living Room Wall Decor using Outdoor Baskets }

Happy Monday friends! I'm just going to get right into today's post since I have so much stuff to get done before my vacay to Maine on Friday & since I've literally been sick for 7 days now..I had big plans to blog a DIY I wanted to finish & blog, but I just didn't have the energy to paint or take the heat today especially with being on a steroid shot. I did step outside to wash the piece Mark brought home, but that's about it. While I was outside for the whole 20 minutes I decided to grab these rustic hanging baskets that we bought from @homedepot a few years back for the front porch. They've held up super well & I thought  I give them a quick wash & try them in our upper level living space..I've been on the hunt for something to fill this wall space other than sconces & to my surprise I actually liked them! I ended up just sticking some @ikea branches quickly & for now they will do! I love that they're simple, neutral & can be used differently easily! Come read more below!

These hanging baskets have held up so well over the past few years & they've been in the elements as well. I believe they were $15 each & I did see some similar a few weeks ago at Home Depot!

The piggies kept "bombing" my photos as I was photographing so I kind of just went with it! I mean her cute little pink sailor collar matches the decor so why not right?! Ha Ha!

When spring hit I had a vision in my head that I wanted to make our upper living room more "garden style" rather farmhouse style with all the plain whites, creams & just greens. Though I love that style, I do find it super trendy right now & I was just plain getting bored with it! When we bought this floral slipcover HERE I promised myself to add a few more garden style touches & color for summer!

Well there you have it, some simple rustic hanging baskets brought indoors as wall decor! I'm excited to play around with these soon..What do you guys think about these added to this wall?

Happy Monday!

Wishing you all a happy & healthy Friday & weekend!

{ Gorgeous Cottage Style HomeGoods Summer Dining Room Artwork }

Happy Friday everyone! I feel like I haven't been on here in soo long which really isn't the case as I blog, update etc.. daily. Yes, the posts have been so scattered this week, but for good reason..I know a lot of you follow me via my other social media outlets { bottom left side bar } but for those who don't I've been really sick!! I caught some type of virus & have been fighting it since late Saturday night after a grad party..I just didn't feel right & brushed it off & then Monday it hit me..My tonsils were so large they were almost blocking my airway, coughing { I'll spare details }, fever & my eardrum was being pushed so hard it was sore! I went 3 days trying to do natural remedies & finally Thursday morning went to urgent care! I was tested for mono, strep etc.. all negative just a bad virus. I got a steroid shot to the hip & I'm back to feeling normal in head, but now the steroid is running it's course UGH! Anyways I'm biting the bullet & FINALLY publishing this post!! I picked up this artwork @homegoods last week after spotting it randomly..I saw their were only two & then read the cute packaging & snagged it up!!  It was only $80  with the perfect authentic chippy wood frame, USA made , hand painted & not mass produced my the lovely Kathryn White! Not going to lie the hydrangeas & packaging pulled me instantly!

Love the simple pops of blue paired with greenery &creams! Something about blue & green around summertime..

I had been looking for something for this space for quite sometime to fill that wall properly! When I had our larger tall back parsons it didn't look so bare,but with these lower wood chairs that wall was to open! This huge art was perfect coloring, size & style!

I did something I usually never do..I put things I would never use with what I had planned & actually loved it! These blue summery vintage masons are one of them..I thought for sure nooo-go, but ended up loving the pops of blue with the green hydrangeas! I wish I could have captured it a bit better..Sometimes I get carried away haha.

Obviously these aren't real hydrangeas, but the quality from @ikea shocked me & for under $10!! I forgot I had them outside & decided to move them in & loved them with the new art!

This basket &milk bottles were also just set here & I kinda loved the summery feel & left them! I'm definitely going more simple with my decor, but I don't think I'll ever go modern. I love the cozy cottagey /farmhouse feel!

What do you guys think about this tablescape & this lovely new art piece??

Happy Friday, friends!

Wishing you all a happy & healthy Friday & weekend!

{ Cozy Cottage Style Festive Summery Porch pt.1.. }

Hey guys & happy weekend!! You all know I usually don't blog on the weekends, but I wanted to pop on here today because it's supposed to be gorgeous weather here in Michigan for some outdoor weekend inspiration & because it's the first weekend of June & I wanted to share our early festive porch with you guys!! You want to hear something crazy..We've never had an American flag outside our home..eeek & that is just not okay seeing as how we are extremely patriotic etc.. I actually cringe when I see the flag being hung incorrectly with the union in the wrong spot  { As ours is in the picture..read why below }& so on!! We have some very old vintage flags stored,but I wanted a simple thrifty one so I picked this one up @walmart for under $10! Lately I've been spending a lot of time outside taking in the simple things since our life has been very busy these days..& again that's odd for me as I don't handle the heat very well due to health issues. Anyways my sister & I spent all Thursday running errands & being outside while decorating this little spur of the moment surge of inspiration! You can probably already guess it, but I ran to our "junk pile" & grabbed somethings I haven't used yet & decided to style our porch for an "early 4th" decor type of thing while catching some glorious sunshine..P.S. I NEED a tan before vacay in 2 weeks hahaha. Come see this cute little cozy spot out front our little suburban cottage!

**So I'm always pointing out on others' flags when they aren't hung correctly & here ours is with the union on the wrong spot..Well, not my fault. Unfortunately we couldn't screw into the brick for other reasons & when I flipped the flag the stitching was horrible & very noticeably not the greatest quality..This is because it's supposed to be used with a pole & I understand for $10..Just wanted to clarify before I get tons of e-mails hehe. Thanks for understanding!!

I love the greenery mixed with the sunflowers, carriage style garage & patriotic decor! Can you believe this little space was under $20 to style?!

This little space makes want to pour some wine & just take in the fresh air...Hopefully sometime this weekend right?! The table is from @ikea
*See post: HERE on it!

I showed this little pine tree to the left in my Instagram stories { see IG link below } a while ago & thought I'd get "him" in a few shots hehe! This little pine tree has special meaning to me as it was my first little piece of greenery from my parents all the way from up at our cottages property..it was only 4 inches when we got it & now 5 years later..

I always like mixing new with old & I found this little rusty can in our pile & picked some fresh fearns & voila! *You can see our Patriotic Kitchen Post: HERE

I hope you guys liked this early festive summery porch! I love seeing patriotic decor around our little cottage & especially that bright sunshine!! It's the little things in life that make me happy ...Let me know down below what you use & when you decorate for the 4th!

HAPPIEST WEEKEND!

{ Update & Progress + Patio Spruce Up Quickly in 3 Easy Steps! }

Hey everyone!!! Thanks for stopping back in today! I hope you all had a lovely long weekend..We just hung around the house & enjoyed each others company while sprucing up the yards & getting things in order { somewhat }, while purging things etc.. Today's post isn't fancy or pretty, but more of an update I wanted to share with you guys! So as you know we are actively looking for our forever home/ farm & well let's just say we haven't found ANYTHING- boo!! Yes, we are a bit picky, but we don't want to " buy just to buy" type of thing since we do really love our now home! The only reason we are moving is because of my husbands business is growing  rapidly...{ I thought I'd share that here since some of you have asked}. Anyways with all that being said, you guys know me & I just can't leave a space alone even if we are planning on moving! While Mark was smoking some meats & the dogs were outside playing we decided to move the patio furniture out & add some new cushions/ some treasures from our junk pile to spruce the space up. The weekend before we washed everything & stacked the fire-pit with all our scrap wood, so it was the perfect timing! We also had to retire our red cushions FINALLY after 5 years & although the color wasn't our style anymore, the cushions were really nice quality compared to the new ones...maybe a DIY on the old ones soon?! Since we have been working on just sprucing little parts of the back patio up for bonfires etc..I decided to quickly snap a few progress pictures.. I always hesitate about posting "progress" pictures, because let's be honest most of blogland is staged perfection..Not here on TQS haha..this blogs for the average folk I guess ha!

1. Signs or Decor!

Signs can make any space feel decorated & fun! They also are super affordable, durable & versatile! I found this one in our treasure pile of junk & plucked it out & just set it here..It was previously in back behind on our little red shed behind the big white wood garage..See one of my first post HERE

2. Cushions/ Pillows!

This one not only is a must for us since the previous owners tore down the screened in porch, but because they add that texture & warmth element to an outdoor space! I picked these green cushions up the other day for $80 at our local Ollies & surprisingly they're decent quality & match pretty much anything! The pillows are from @target & just add charm & for me extra cushion while sitting out here { bad back }! Both are weather resistant, but can be sprayed with weather proof if need be or stored in a trunk! Pillows always for me help pull a space together..& we already had these on hand.

3. Flowers/ Greenery!

The simplest way for me to make a space cozy or inviting is to add greenery all over! I use both real & faux greenery throughout our home & outside! A lot of the faux greenery can be pricey, but when I'm quickly "sprucing" up a space like this I just grab Dollar Tree flowers! They hold up outside well & cost next to nothing. You can also snag quite a bit at stores like @michaels & @hobbylobby when they have their 50% coupons!!

 I hope you guys liked this tip/ progress picture! I'm sorry this is a shorter post & not staged etc.. but you all know I like to keep it practical here on TQS! Life isn't staged right..at least ours isn't hehe! I love y'alls input so leave me some comments below on how you style your patio or porch , I love new ideas!!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

{ HomeGoods 3 Tier Makeup Stand Storage }

Hey everyone & welcome back! I've got a fun little storage decor idea for you guys today. I had been wanting a 3 tier stand for sometime, but was quite over the typical ways of using them...I spotted this wood & galvanized one for $20 @homegoods & snagged it! If you know anything about these 3 tier stands you would know they range all the way up into prices as high as $150!! When I spotted this simple one I knew I wanted it because it was super simple looking, but also because the price & possibilities were endless!! I brought it home & it just kind of sat in our master with the tags still on it until a few weeks ago when I washed it & got the perfect idea for it..MAKEUP STAND!! I remembered I had been wanting something to set all my "everyday" makeup on instead of always having to go into my makeup vanity for something..I loved this one because it's sturdy & the 3 tiers are super deep, so the makeup, lotions, sprays, contacts & so on.. don't roll off onto the ground...which with my messy vanity is usually the case haha!  Come see more about this storage idea below & let me know if you all like these kind of posts?!

I love the simplicity of this stand unlike so many others! It's super nice quality, durable & great size! The handle makes it nice & easy to move & the neutral design makes it simple to style in other areas of our home!

Side Note: It's about 2ft or a little under!

Fun little fact about me, I'm super simple with makeup..I buy cheap & basic stuff that last quite sometime! I use 5 basic items when I get ready usually & I'm not one for all the " new products" or routines out.. most of the time! I have really fare skin & have never had an issue with acne or breakouts..I even sleep in my eye makeup sometimes..eek I know! I wash my face with plain ole cold water, fresh towel & apply coco butter or Booths natural "Buttery Vanilla" lotion several few times a day..See easy peasy!!!

I like how the wood detailing pairs nicely with my vanity & this old wood junkin chair we found! You can see the post on this vanity HERE

The chalkboard cabinet was a free find & just holds lotions & sprays! It's nice to be able to hide the not so pretty goods ha!

The galvanized trays make it easy to clean as well..& you guys know my clean happy self loves that hehe!

**What do you guys think about this makeup stand? How do you store your makeup items & what not?! Be sure to let me know below if you like these kind of posts too..I know this is a bit out of the norm for me & TQS!

Wishing you all a fantastic long weekend!
