{ Classic Christmas Housewalk }

 Whoa I can't believe Christmas Eve is already here! Honestly, I look forward to November/ December every year & the anticipation leading up to Christmas is the best!! I think I actually enjoy Christmas Eve the most! This year I feel like I slacked..Lot's has been going on behind the scenes..I can't wait to share! I also physically with the fibromyalgia/ vertigo...This season just came so quick, but before it slips away I wanted to share our 2020 Christmas Housewalk with you all.. it's going to be short winded because I'm literally in the bath with a Christmas candle burning away....Then it's time to head to my grandma's ♡. 

•Porch•

 

Classic ski lodge with lots of woods, greens & a few cozy pillows! This was by far other than last years porch was my favorite!! 

•Living Room•

 

The living room I wanted a glitzy vintage cottage look.  With the flocked trees sporting vintage gold beads, pinecones & warm lights only..The oranges & brown rug & lots of gold whimsical charm & chalkboards!

•Dining Room•

I wanted the living room to flow nicely with the dining room as they're close..So again with the classic Christmas look..Dark forest green rug, fresh real evergreen wreath & lots of huge fragrant naval oranges! A big green cottage sign & flocked lit garland completes this space!

•Kitchen•

 

Classic items we use mixed with green & browns flowing from the dining room..

•Bedroom•

 

The bedroom also keeping with the look of a classic vintage Christmas..lots of fresh Cypress greens, antique chandy & lots of cream & black check with burlap. The fireplace was my biggest inspo & the first year we used fresh greens in here! 

•Basement Family Room•

 

This is our biggest used space, especially when hosting! This is the first year we won't be hosting in 12 years!!! I went with a vintage Ireland town down here with lots of patina, chippy green & blue ticking stripe.

{ DIY Festive Christmas Card Display }

 Well, since its only a few days until Christmas { It went too fast } I thought I'd share a simple, but oh so cozy DIY for all those wonderful Christmas cards you receive each year! I don't know about you, but I sure love seeing everyone's yearly card or family photos! I've always loved stationary & photography so this is right up my alley ha. Each year I always wonder what to do with all our cards from friends & family, especially the out of state special ones..Well, this year I came up with the perfect easy & festive way to display them all in one area! Come see this simple DIY CHRISTMAS CARD DISPLAY below....

 

Did you guess it right?? If you guessed a vintage toboggan, you'd be absolutely correct! We've had this vintage huge wood toboggan for years & every year I love to display it! It's antique, so it only comes out around Christmas & this year it served as a DIY!! 

 

HOW TO:

Stand the toboggan up & secure if you have children etc.. Place the cards staggered across the wood ledges! Ours had no problem just leaning on the slats. If the cards fall, use a bit of tape on the backsides.

I can remember as a kid my mom always taping our Christmas cards around our square kitchen entrance & we'd always see if we could fully fill the arch!! 

 

I strictly used our Christmas card photoshoots from previous years, because I didn't want to invade family +friends privacy, especially with photos of their children. 

It was so fun to see all the years of Christmas cards we've shot...Oh & my ever-changing hair color ha. 

One card is missing from our collage { this year's 2020 } but you can see our 2020 Christmas photoshoot

I used a vintage red & white enamel pot with some faux snowballs, lots of greens & warm white  Christmas lights..

{ Snowy Christmas Cottage Porch }

 Heyyyyyy pals! I wanted to quickly & I mean quickly jump on the keyboard & write a few things & show you all our first snow filled Christmas porch of the season! I've had quite the day with appointments &  more appointments plus waking up with two completely red eyes...Yup, that kind of day haha! Although, it wasn't fun walking around in the snow with fogged glasses, a bum foot & red eyes..It was breathtakingly refreshing pulling up to our little red brick cottage with snow on the porch!!! I snapped a few shots & well come get cozy!

I've always been a lover of snow. I love the excitement, look & how it makes everything cozy! We haven't had much snow up here in Michigan, but wait til January hit- yikes haha!!

The ever so faint tree lights look so whimsical & magical sparkling through the dusting of snow! 

•Side Note: The Ski sign must've got wind shaken..my OCD straightness is kicking in ha. 

 

This little red brick cottage is the cutest around this time of year!! It's like it's meant for snow ha. I will admittedly say, after Christmas I'm over snow though.

{ Our Christmas Card Photoshoot }

 Like for most, 2020 has been a very difficult year...Unfortunately ours hasn't been fantastic either. From not being able to find a house to losing my grandma to silly disagreements to health issues! With all that being said, I wanted to share our 2020 Christmas card. I share our card every year with a little photoshoot of it because honestly it's a fun shoot we do together each year! Come see what we came up with this year.... 

 

It was a gorgeous end of November Sunday & perfect for a little club car ride in the woods!! We loaded "Gidget" up with 1 zillion different plaid  items, trees & of course or matching plaid pajamas!! 

Warm whimsical gold has been my jam this year! This is the first year I ran out of cards ordered from @Vistaprint

It wouldn't be a Christmas without the animals, so they made their appearance on the backside of the card!!

{ Irish Christmas Town Basement Tour }

 Okay...before we go any further I better explain the title to this post ha! I wanted to create an " Irish Pub" style town look! Lot's of chippy green vintage furniture pieces, antique shops, pubs & patina brick roads & store fronts! The inspiration came from the chippy green furniture & the fun little pillow I picked up! Anyways, now that I've explained, come see the actual look below...

The first thing I did was put this 7ft tree in an old barrel { mini tree is in the same matching barrel }.  It added height, charm & fuss free skirt adjusting.  The wrapping paper is always a big part too & this year I picked this paper up at IKEA back in September! I added simple white yarn & some black lanterns + greens!

Again, with the "Irish town theme" I added these block wood houses, a vintage game board & a simple evergreen candle! The ticking stripe stockings added a punch of vintage color & fun to the mantel!

Something about the vintage chippy green got me going this year...Just reminds me of old time Ireland with its cute old shops & painted fronts! The green trees & snowballs are both from HomeGoods!

The toboggan was a free antique find as well as the chippy blue paned window & mantel officer statue! 

I went simple with the tree & added some blue/ green heavy metal mercury ornaments, lights and pinecones!

 

The Moosehead heads aren't authentic but definitely are quirky +fun! Both were picking finds & the bottom is actually handmade into a coat rack out of gun shells. It works perfectly for cute throws etc..

I hope you liked this little lower level basement tour! I'm sorry it wasn't  a full tour like past Christmas posts..I forgot to mention above but I hurt my ankle & am now in a boot..So getting down here was a challenge!
